Family Lore
Summary:
Viewed by some as the embodiment of Alt-Regalian Calemberger culture, the House Typhonus, while relatively young, is a name to be heard within the Regalian Archipelago. Finding its start with the conquests of Niven Typhonus, the House Typhonus was, and has always been, a family that makes their name from glory in war. Irrelevant in its early years, and serving as titleless regional governors in a small section of the Calemberg, the family made a rapid rise to prominence after the collapse of the House Cadar, seizing many of the defunct Great House's old lands and assets in their rise to prominence. The Family grew in power through various strategic marriages, land conquests, and successful wartime campaigns, amassing extreme wealth and reputable prestige in various aristocratic circles. Today, the House Typhonus stands as one of the Realm's political superpowers, ruling over the sprawling Aristocratic Realm of Calemberg, all while still being found on the front lines of the Empire's Armed Forces.
Family Overview:
Through decades of successful battles, wartime campaigns, and fervent service to the Great Way of Unionism, the House Typhonus is established as a powerful name in both Regalian political affairs and in the ranks of the Imperial Armed Forces. Priding themselves in political finesse and military strength, the House Typhonus, like most Alt-Regalian aristocratic Houses, is a strongly patriarchal family, being run almost militaristically by its patriarch. Currently headed by Elros Alarick Typhonus as a Regent, the House strictly retains a rigidly conservative social agenda, looking down upon non-humans and non-believers of Unionism, and hailing the Emperor's word above all else.
Given the House's strong ties to the military, it is no surprise to see the various members scattered throughout the various sects of the Regalian forces. It's often said that one can never pass through the Regalian Marshalry or Admirality without encountering at least one Typhonus, giving the House has a very strong influence in the actions of the armed forces. The family is unique in the regard that it allows the women of the House to receive a military education, in stark contrast to other houses who tend to follow the ideal that women are simply housewives. The common belief within the House is that, if one is willing to sacrifice all for their Holy Empire on the field of battle, they should not be restricted. As such, Typhonus women can often be found filling military roles around the Realm, from serving as refined tacticians, to charging the enemy as skilled bladeswomen. However, not all women choose a military path to follow, and not all are expected to. Female Typhonus play a key role in politics as well, often becoming members of the Imperial Court, hosting tea circles to hone in on the latest gossip, and some have even been known to seek positions in the Imperial Bureaucracy (however it should be noted that a female Typhonus with direct political power is unheard of). Typhonus that either retire from military service, or never enter the service (much to the disdain of their kinsmen), often take up positions within Imperial Government, serving as Justicars, Clerks of the Bureaucracy, or Finance Ministers. Very rarely, few have even been known to take up the cloth, becoming Reverends within the Sancella of Union.
The overwhelming majority of the House Typhonus' wealth spurs from pelt sales, taxes, and the spoils of war. Calemberg's forests yield a large selection of uncommon fauna, sustaining a large and thriving pelt industry throughout the Lordship. Through the shadowy dealings of Gerhard III Typhonus, the House came into direct control of various Calemberger pelt industries, funneling a mass amount of wealth into the family coffers. Otherwise, the House has also been notorious for strategically taxing the urban centres of their Lordship, raising and lowering tax amounts based on status. While the reign of Ulric Typhonus has seen this practice scaled back slightly, it is nonetheless assumed that the Typhonus make a fortune from taxes each year. The House has also been known to profit from the Realm's warmongering, earning prestige from successful battles, but also gaining material wealth through the razing and looting of foreign territories, Typhonus soldiers often returning with foreign currency and stolen valuable objects to Calemberg to be bought and sold.
In-Depth History:
The earliest members of the House Typhonus are not recorded anywhere, as most in that time served as sellswords, farmers, or simple levy soldiers, scattered about the forested Lordship of Calemberg, too unremarkable to take note of. The First Typhonus to reach a point of prominence was Aldrich I Konradin Typhonus, who worked his way up through the ranks of the Regalian Marshalry to eventually become a prominent Marshal and a personal adjutant to the Lady of Calemberg, Melissandre Cadar. He participated in various military conflicts related to the final stage of the unification of the Regalian Archipelago in 170 AC and was charged with acting as something of a regional governor, administering the levies in a small section of hamlets and small cities in eastern Calemberg in the name of the House Cadar. However, Aldrich I was never granted a title, had very little influence in setting the tone for future generations, and was inevitably overshadowed by the actions of his first son, Niven.
Niven Alarick Typhonus, despite Aldrich's minor prominence, is widely considered to be the founder of the family. Niven was largely independent from his father's work as a Marshal, becoming a respected sellsword in his own right, participating in various irrelevant conflicts, and chasing bounties across the region. His actions took an abrupt turn with the death of Melissandre Cadar. Having no legitimate heirs to replace the late Lady of Calemberg, a drastic succession crisis erupted across Calemberg, fracturing the Lordship into several counties. Niven himself rallied several of his fellow sellswords along with a few mercenary companies to form a petty army that he himself called "The Gray Company." He and his rag-tag band rode into the City of Calemberg, capital of the Lordship and one of the most dense and sprawling cities in the Archipel, and occupied it in 198 AC, largely without opposition. Claiming that his strength was his right, he petitioned Emperor Handorien I for recognition as the Count of Calemberg. The Emperor, either believing him or simply not caring enough to deal with him, granted Niven his title, thus elevating the House Typhonus into the ranks of aristocracy. Niven's tenure as Count was relatively uneventful, although the House did participate in quelling various baronial rebellions and fought in the brief war with the Nordskag Kingdom, where the House commanded line soldiers from their county.
Injured during a key battle and confined to his bed, Niven passed his title off to his son, Gerhard III Erhardt Typhonus in 219 AC. Gerhard was more analytical and politically attuned than his father had been, and while still considering himself a man of the military, was able to make greater strides in the area of diplomacy and political powerplays than his father had been able to do. His reign as Count was characterized by several strategic marriages and contracts with the Houses Autenburg and Bachmeier, minor houses who controlled the neighboring counties. Using his prowess, he was able to absorb the lands of the two Houses, elevating him to the title of "Duke of Calemberg." However popular he may have been at the time, however, he also became notorious for systematically blackmailing and then absorbing smaller pelt industries, which while remaining mostly private, began funneling their profits into Typhonus coffers, creating what Gerhard's critics labeled "the Typhonus pelt conglomerate," a monstrous boon to the family's wealth and assets. Gerhard participated in the Realm's wars during his reign as a Field Commander, witnessing the embarrassing failures against Arvost, Torse, and Arlora brought about by the Realm's brief bankruptcy. The losses and economic downturn caused brief discontent in the Duchy, but the feelings were eventually quelled by the bloody response to other uprisings in the Archipel.
Gerhard III died suddenly in 278 AC, but the political framework he left behind made it much easier for his son and successor, Hadrian Diederich Typhonus, to continue his work. Hadrian's early reign saw great prosperity for the House Typhonus, despite the lack of wars being fought. A mere four years after gaining his father's titles, Hadrian managed to coerce the last of the fringe counts to submit to Typhonus rule and unified the Lordship of Calemberg in 286 AC. With Emperor the assent of Emperor Justinian II, Hadrian ruled as the first Typhonus Archduke of Calemberg, earning him, and by extension the House, a large influence over Calemberger culture (which allowed him to build the framework which would later become the Calemberg Union), his tenure characterized by political grace and wisdom along with military strength. Hadrian participated in the Chrysant War, commanding the Typhonus Fleet aboard his flagship, the Adler II. While the war was a rousing success for both the House Typhonus' ground levies and fleet, Hadrian was near fatally injured when Empress Miko Missa's serpent terrors ripped through the Adler II.

While the war was a rousing success for both the House Typhonus' ground levies and fleet, Hadrian was near fatally injured when Empress Miko Missa's serpent terrors ripped through the Adler II.
Left physically weak and confined to a cane, Hadrian passed his titles and duties off to Ulric Adelhard Typhonus in 291 AC, whilst Ulric was in his twenties. Ulric was regarded by his kinsmen as a military prodigy, but often joked that he had the diplomatic ability of a toad, largely a consequence of his unending military training forced upon him by his father. Despite this, Ulric's early reign, much like his father's, was largely uneventful, but prosperous due to the Golden Age brought about by the end of the Chrysant War. Ulric made the choice to move to the Crown Isle in order to rule more closely with the Imperial Government. Within two years of his arrival in the capital, Ulric was appointed as the Commander of the Violet Order, a position which he served for several years. He was eventually selected to serve on Emperor Justinian II's State Council, the more streamlined successor to the Senate, and worked to create and debate laws and policies amongst the Empire's best. During the days of Justinian II's decline in health, Ulric sided with the Kade lobbyists, supporting the Kade Settlement that placed Alexander I on the Imperial Throne. Ulric then lead the armies of the Lordship of Calemberg in the Elven Subjugation War of 301 AC. Ulric made a handful of key victories, and a few defeats, before being interrupted by the Lo-Santorski invasion of his lands. Ulric and the Typhonus Family then proceeded to face horrific embarrassment as the superior Typhonus host was bested by the smaller Consortium army, albeit through the questionable use of magic. This displaced the House Typhonus for several weeks, before Freya Lo, matriarch of the House Lo, made a move on the capital. The Emperor acted swiftly, defeating Freya's armies and executing Lenora Santorski, returning Calemberg to Typhonus control. Shortly afterwards, Ulric Typhonus succeeded Alejandro Anahera as Supreme Chancellor of the Realm, bringing about a new high in political power for the House Typhonus, even though Ulric himself acted as more of a passive Chancellor. The House Typhonus then participated in various wars against the Qadir Pashtallah and other Qadir states, Ulric losing the Chancellory due to capture and fear of Qadir legitimization, before winning it a second time after the war's conclusion, only to retire later on due to increased political discontent and threats from the Ithanian political lobby. For a year or so House Typhonus organized and lead the Calemberg Union (a collective of Calemberg lords that acted as a cohesive unit in external politics), but the Union dissipated it after a poor diplomatic showing from House Drache, with Ulric Typhonus himself returning to the Holy City to ensure the continued success and proper reputation of House Typhonus be reflected. After a few weeks of political manuvering, it was discovered Ulric had a bastard son by the name of Elros of Turent, who was later legitimized and given Duke-Regency over House Typhonus, until Ulric's "proper" sons complete their training in Calemberg. Shortly thereafter, House Typhonus briefly merged with House Rote, gaining the Barony of Griptham before House Rote broke their oaths, and left the peerage.
Under Elros' reign, an urgency was placed on members of House Typhonus to stay primarily in the Capital, with many cousins and mainline Typhonus swiftly taking up duties within the city. Unlike his predecessors, Elros led under a delegation based system, assigning some sort of authority over War, State, Finance, Court, and otherwise to different members of the family. In particular, and due to their outstanding performances in the Kathar War of 307 AC, Reimar and Klaus Typhonus would come to form a 3-man leadership alongside Elros (with Ulric still advising the trio) to command the disciplines of War and State respectively. Women of the House began making strides within the Imperial Court for first time in years, and even the farthest-removed cousins had the ability to take over control of finances, knightship, and otherwise. During this time, The Grey Company was reformed and broadened to include a Battalion for Reimar Typhonus to use in matters of War. On the whole, however, Elros' reign was met with resistance from the local lords, with grumblings of his liberal tendencies, including hiring a "Court Mage", haunting the Duke-Regent throughout his tenure.
In present times, the House Typhonus, continues to retain its political and military influence, several members of the House Typhonus involved in both affairs within the Armed Forces, Imperial Court, and Imperial Government. They reside in the Countyside Castle, "Castle Altenburg", making frequent use of the dark forests on either side, the mountain range curving around the back of the Castle, and the lovely beach just steps from the doors themselves.

With many individuals, multiple titles, and different ideologies, clarification to the internal politics of the family is something that will help explain some of the perceived chaos. The Patriarch and Head of House does have an absolute power over the family. Oftentimes in regards to avenue and political projects to pursue, they will be the one that sets the agenda to other members of the family.
That being said, the exercise of this power is often far from absolute, despite that potential power being there. Individual members of the family, especially those that have their own titles, will often have their voices heard in semi-regular House wide meetings, or through requesting private discussions with the Patriarch. Notably however is that these meetings almost always stay behind closed doors all but family, and the most trusted non family Household advisors. Heading council and opinions, especially of titled House members, is a must for the Head of the House, because while they may hold a de-jure absolute power to act, it is the collective weight of titles that bring ultimate prosperity to the House. Internal conflict, if allowed to spiral out of control, could prove disastrous for all members of this House.
The internal 'Court of Calemberg' that exists in the Typhonburg Estate of the Crown Isle can often be a place where balancing and debating different ideologies and forming plans of actions is extremely dynamic in its nature. Individuals will work for the common betterment of the House, while also jostling to stand out and claim personal honours and prestige.
Common Ideologies:
Especially so with this newest group of members of House Typhonus, there are a variety of different political views and ideologies that each individual may personally subscribe to. By no means is the House homogenous in thought and outlook. To generalize these however, there are three clear cut ideologies that will be listed below which can serve as a summary or overview for these ideas and beliefs.
Old Guard Conservatives:
The first amongst these can be considered the 'Old Guard' faction or the 'Calemberg Conservative Movement'. Whatever name may be associated with it, the fundamental ideals and where they stem from are the same. This faction represents the traditional values associated with Calemberg and the New Regalian people that reside in it, as well as the upholding of their traditional lifestyles and customs. In addition to the upholding of these traditions, faith, discipline and honor are held to a high regard as they are in New Regalian cultures.
Within Calemberg itself, it is the New Regalian People, the 14 Families, the Church, and even the Feudal Council where these ideologies may overlap, though with a much stronger emphasis on upholding and defending aristocratic institutions. Gender roles, for example, are clear cut in terms of the perceived roles of men and women within a household. Strong dedication and patronage to religious institutions, and upholding and acting in ways virtuous to the faith fit and tie in with overall honour codes that are held.
The clear enemy is Ithania, and the Ithanian culture. They represent the quintessential cultural rival or enemy to the New Regalians, especially in the case of House Typhonus. Challenging and reducing the influence of Ithanian influence in the Capital and at Court is an ever standing goal. At times as well House von Drachenburg can be seen as a rival, in competing for cultural influence and trend setting amongst New Regalian culture as a whole. Members of this Old Guard would seek to outcompete their Waldmark neighbors wherever the competition may lay, be it in military honours, personal prestige, weight of titleage, or political influence, but the two families have often collaborated in recent times as well for the betterment of New Regalians.
Liberal Movement:
In recent days, championed by the younger members of the current generation of family members, a new sort of Liberal Movement has emerged which champions change and a shift away from the traditionally held focuses of the House. Many of these individuals have travelled in their youth, and spent time in the courts outside of Calemberg.
The pursuit of courtly affairs, and the embracing of the 'courtly life', and other less traditional pursuits find a home amongst like minded individuals here. Recent discoveries pushed forward about the last days of Marianne Cadar have proven the catalyst to attempt and push forward changes and reforms within the House, and perhaps in due time Calemberg as a whole. With the reality of Marianne Cadar's demise being emerged as a betrayal, debate has sparked once more about the traditional role of women, both amongst the New Regalian common folk but also the nobility.
While the Military has held a place of near absolute prominence amongst the ideologies of the Old Guard and New Officer's Movement, amongst those that subscribe to this more liberal ideology that place of absolute prominence is lowered. In this, being a ranking member of the Military should not inherently be a prerequisite for power of prestige. While there still is a role of the Military, in keeping with history, perhaps maintaining amongst the largest armies on the continent is not something that is not worth the costs associated with it. When instead, money can be put to funding other measures in terms of culture, history, and other arts. Foreign alliances, and building up friendships with other houses should more than supplement any reduction in military size.
Competing to obtain high positions of influence and power in the State Government, but more importantly the Imperial and Gallovian courts are seen as a mark of prestige and accomplishment. Perhaps even the time has come for Calemberg to step forward as a true cultural trend setter in the Archipelago as a whole. This in turn ties in with the above. Political and social power can be as strong as, if not stronger than blunt military strength.
New Militarists:
Somewhat of an outlier from the other two ideologies, is this concept of the New Militarist movement. Above all, value is placed in the standing armed forces of the House, and military achievement of its members. In this sense, it is fairly similar to the traditional ideology that has governed the House for most of its time in the Crown Isle though the similarities stop there. Observations of events since the turn of the century have led some to conclude that the nature of the threats faced is becoming increasingly magical in nature. Traditional doctrines that may have secured victory and dominance in conflicts amongst the nobility, are becoming increasingly strained and inflexible when faced with foes who employ unorthodox and magically inclined tactics. Thus an exploration into all possibilities must be considered, even fighting fire with fire. Expanding to bring in skilled commoners and even women into the military fold is something that has also been done in the past, all supposedly justified with the moniker of changing times.
On more social policies however, this group tends to align itself more with the Old Guard. This being a male priority for roles of leadership and management, as well as a general respect for the church and clergy. If one looks deeper however, one might see that this respect is only lip service where any belief could simply be dismissed if it affects the perceived path of ascension for the House. Differing from more extreme liberal reformists however is a general distrust of perceived foreign relations. Strength should be from within, and binding agreements of alliance with these foreign entities are something that is detrimental at best. It is why at times when it comes to courtly settings, they can be referred to as blunt, gruff or anti-social.
General rules
- Your Typhonus character must be your main character or at least be consistently played alongside other characters.
- Members should be self-motivated. While we are attempting to become better at involving members of the family, college and work schedules sometimes may keep us busy with matters unrelated to family management. As such, members should have a decent ability to "make their own fun" in nobility.
- Members are expected to adhere to a simple code of conduct IC, save for intra-family drama. No Typhonus should deliberately tarnish the reputation of the House unless IC circumstances demand it.
- If you cannot handle TyrolleanEagle and/or LumosJared looking over your shoulder from time to time, this is not the House for you.
- ERP is strictly frowned upon in the House Typhonus. Yes, there is a reason. Yes, TyrolleanEagle will know if you do.

Elros Alarick Typhonus (30): Elros Typhonus is the legitimized bastard of Ulric, and was recognized as Duke-Regent "until Aelderich or Jaecar come of age and complete their training and duties in Calemberg". Taking over from Ulric, he led the family through 306-308 AC, ultimately abdicating the Throne of Calemberg and putting it not in the place of Ulric's trueborn sons, but in his cousin, Reimar. Born and raised in Turent, Anglia, at the School of Turall, he is an agile fighter and a roguish character. Before becoming Duke-Regent, he was a Bounty Hunter working in Old Town, and before that a Financial Minister and a small time player in the Lo Occupation. Elros, today, lives the life of the adventurer, sailing around the Archipelago with a small crew, though why is a mystery. He fights with two named weapons, "Lord" a Blacksteel Dagger from Louis Delmotte, and "Hunter", a Nightsilver, elven made shortsword with questionable origins. Elros likes to cook and tidy up around Typhonuburg, on the rare occasions he comes back to the Capital. Portrayed by @LumosJared

Relatively young and in the process of completing his education in the Imperial Marshal's Academy, Aelderich has very few accomplishments to his name as of right now, but shows promise as a general with the potential to live up to his father's name, with hopes to modernize the Calemberger army. Born in the Holzburg Palace and raised by stewards with the influence of his grandfather, Aelderich currently is in the midst of the formal succession process, and will soon be taking his father's place as the new ruler of Calemberg and patriarch of the House Typhonus. This character can be applied for.
Jaecar Sigwald Typhonus (25): Jaecar Typhonus is Ulric's second eldest son and the first in line to the titles of House Typhonus while his brother, Aelderich, has no heirs. In no expectation of the patriarchy, Jaecar has pursued a more traditional military path, training to serve in the army of Calemberg as a cavalry uhlan and a frontline field commander. Jaecar, while militarily gifted and politically competent, tends to take after his father more in the sense that he is more reserved in conversation, but very quick to anger and prone to bullheadedness in tense situations. This character can be applied for.
Riane Ivonne Typhonus (23): Riane Typhonus is youngest child of Ulric Typhonus, and his only daughter. While not in line for any form of political power due to her gender, in tune with her family's philosophy on women in combat roles, Riane had made quite a name for herself on the battlefield. Riane currently heads a small all-female regiment of cavalry scouts, colloquially dubbed the "Hexenjägers" or the "Witch Hunters" in Common. Inheriting her father's fiery disposition, Riane has proven herself as a skilled unit commander, and spends the majority of her time away with her unit on missions across Calemberg. This character can be applied for.
Thoron Reinhold Typhonus (55): Thoron Typhonus is the brother and sole sibling of Ulric Typhonus. In no expectation of political power, being the second born child, Thoron began his military education in the Viridian Order with the intent of becoming a Knight. Blessed with immense physical strength, Thoron quickly earned his keep, and began moving upwards through the ranks of the Order, before abruptly breaking with the Viridians over disputes with several Viridian Elders with regards to battle tactics and accusations of insubordination. Silent, stoic, and generally thought to be more bullheaded than even Ulric, Thoron currently serves as the titular "champion" of the House Typhonus, being widely regarded as one of the strongest members of the family, and most skilled in single combat. Trained in martial ability as most male Typhonus are, Albrecht distinguished himself during his time with the "Calemberg Jägers," one of Calemberg's top scouting units. Thus began Albrechtt's descent into the world of Regalian subterfuge, making Albrecht one of the House Typhonus' most valuable assets in terms of intelligence and military espionage, and family security. Having gained the personal attention of his cousin the patriarch, Albrecht is now charged with ensuring that the Typhonus family remains one step ahead of those who would see it fall, and ridding the House of any troublesome individuals. This character can be applied for.
Rudolph Walten Typhonus (33): Rudolph Typhonus is the last son of Theodon II and cousin of the patriarch. Rudolph, while once serving as a skilled and charismatic tactician, abandoned his work in the military to meet the need for a family economist. While publicly the Director of the West Calemberg Pelt & Fur Company (more commonly called "Typhonus Pelt Production"), Rudolph also secretly maintains the network of Typhonus-controlled pelt companies collectively coined "the Typhonus Pelt Conglomerate." Being directly responsible for the family's primary source of income, Rudolph has, by default, become the manager of the family's coffers, and has a strong influence over Calemberg's tax and finance offices. Rudolph relies on his charisma and wit to get ahead in the Empire. This character can be applied for.

He has since become one of the few Typhonus to take up the cloth and become a clergyman of the Sancella of Union. Working his way up through the ecclesiastical hierarchy through rigorous piety and a sharp mind, he is currently the Reverend of Greater Calemberg, holding his Holy Seat in the City of Calemberg within the massive Calemberger Dom Cathedral, a cathedral dwarfing even the Imperial Cathedral in Regalia. While Laurenz is deeply devoted to the teachings of the Holy Emperors, and to the cause of the Sancella of Unionism, he remains fiercely loyal to his blood and kin in the Typhonus family. Laurenz's theological opinion rests somewhere between the Themai of Thal and the Themai of Elene. This character can be applied for.
Reimar Emmerich Typhonus (25): Reimar is the youngest of the four children of Albrecht Typhonus and Josephine Typhonus nee von Lyon, his father a cousin to Ulric. He filled a more traditional role often associated with the family, by attending the School of Marsharly for the General command discipline from 297 to 307. Upon graduating, he united with his family present in the capital at the time and Marshal Cabinet during the late spring and early summer of that same year. It's here he served as a Field General in the final months of the Dread War, leading successful operations and being awarded the Crystal Heart medal. She has mothered the Imperial Church of the Holy Divine, composed Unionist songbooks and guidance counselling, become Captain of the Crimson Vanguard, and taken the time to dedicate to her family's social life, including the organization of events through The Talon Society with her cousins, Josephine and Cecille Typhonus. Portrayed by @pixYcandi
Josephine Seline Typhonus (31): The eldest daughter of Thoron Typhonus, she is a bit of an enigma when compared to her siblings. Often preferring the company of very few and residing within the lush forest, the huntress of the family is elusive, but when one pins her down she truly is a charming creature. For note, she is of the Huntverk schooling and embodies the mantra of the school. Very much focused upon her own hunting achievements and leaving the other noble hunters in the dust, Josephine, when not doing so and toting around a bow and arrow, is incredibly personable on a one on one basis and very protective of her younger siblings. Truly, she is the wise and advice giving sister. Portrayed by @Walnoodle.
Klaus Heinrich Typhonus (28). Klaus is the eldest male in his sibling line, following behind Josephine as the eldest female, and is the nephew of former patriarch Ulric Typhonus. He has always deviated from following the traditional militaristic route of his kin, instead opting for specialisation in diplomacy and scouting operations from his time in the Calemberg Jagers. This means the nobleman travels regularly outside of the empire, although his absence is rarely noted due to his isolated free time and consistent appearances in the Regalian court. Klaus also considers himself an avid scholar, with a growing collection of strange items and a curiosity for dark knowledge. Whilst this has made him a black sheep amongst the more traditional Typhonus members, he is fiercely loyal to his family and is willing to shoulder the burdens necessary to keep House Typhonus together with his intelligence, silver tongue and underhanded methods. Portrayed by @Battlebrawn

Many other Typhonus exist, with differing archetypes and abilities, but it is suggested that if you apply for the family, you apply for one of the characters above. However, if none interest you, and you have a realistic one engaging concept for another family member, do not hesitate to pitch the idea in your application, in similar fashion to how the characters are presented above. You may hear about other Typhonus who have roamed Regalia. Those who are alive may technically be applied for but will be under heavier scrutiny. Here are their descriptions:
Reynald Typhonus: Reynald Typhonus briefly represented the House Typhonus immediately following Ulric's first retirement to Calemberg. He managed to secure a brief tenure as Lord Commander of the Violet Order, but was ultimately sacked when stronger political forces prevailed and returned to Calemberg. He currently serves as a Lieutenant of Calemberg's infantry
Pepin Typhonus: Pepin is the wife of the late Maximilian Typhonus and was previously a von Lebrecht. That's really about it. She is presumed to be in a monastery somewhere because Ulric did not care for her much.
Roland Albert Typhonus (24). Roland is the third child and second son of Thoron and Elena Typhonus. Roland didn't take much interest in a maritime career like his father, instead choosing to join the Viridian Order. He aims to rise in the ranks and establish a strong presence in the Viridian Order for House Typhonus. He is currently on assignment abroad on behalf of the Viridian Order.
Hadrian Typhonus: Hadrian Typhonus was Ulric's father and the first Archduke of Calemberg. He came to Regalia briefly to assist his son in governance, but was ultimately murdered by Andrieu Anahera during the Anahera occupation of the capital. Hadrian's Chain (the line of mountains between Calemberg and the North) is named in his honor.
Maximilian Typhonus: Maximilian Typhonus was a cousin of Ulric Typhonus was a prominent political mover during the height of the Typhonus' power in Imperial politics. Maximilian was also a horrendously flippant ladies man. He met his end during the "Great Castle Crash," during the Anahera occupation, when the old Grey Gate prison was blown up whilst he was locked away inside. He is survived, most likely, by several bastard children as well as his legitimate children. Rumor has it that Ulric had to establish a commission of trusted advisors to locate most of Maximilian's bastard children. Godspeed, you glorious bastard. Godspeed.
Carolyne Typhonus: Carolyne Typhonus is an adoptive member of the House Typhonus, previously having been a disowned member of the House Drache. Legitimized as a Typhonus under Reynald's influence, she is generally considered a non-blood-related "sister" of Reynald. She is a skilled bladeswoman, and works closely with Reynald in Calemberg's infantry.
Pepin Typhonus: Pepin is the wife of the late Maximilian Typhonus and was previously a von Lebrecht. That's really about it. She is presumed to be in a monastery somewhere because Ulric did not care for her much.

Original Statement: Being completely honest, I am going to be EXTREMELY selective here. In the past, I've often been accused of running the House Typhonus in a very dictatorial fashion. But with most of my time consumed by college, work, my social life, and my workout regimine, I'm making attempts to change that. Thus, this time around, many things may be delegated to family members in the assurance that they'll know what they're doing. So if I don't know you, you'll have a very slim chance, even with a solid list of references. - @Tyrollean Eagle
Current Statement: With @ChapterDeath currently leading the family, all applications also go through myself @Nesstro @LumosJared and the rest of the family. We are less selective about new applications but they generally have to be approved by all members without stains on their record. Despite this, we offer criticism for all rejected apps and will help to guide you in another direction if we feel Typhonus isn't suitable for you. Be honest about your intentions, come with a general idea for your character that we can assist you with and apply if you feel our family might suit you! Replies may take a few days due to how busy our members are. - @Battlebrawn
