Weaknesses Paranoia: With the Voss having a certain uncanny, and maybe an unethical way of practice since the Medical Academy, he has always been a secretive man. He finds it hard to trust many, and those who he does trust will never fully know Haymitch. His silver-tongue and charming nature never supersede his always on edge demeanor, no matter how much he attempts to remove it from view. Life Story Childhood Haymitch Voss was born to Friedrich Voss, and Mary Crowner Voss on March 22nd, 276 A.C as newcomers to Dragenthal, growing up in a modest Ceardian city. His father, Friedrich, became newly appointed as a Captain within the locale guard force when he was just a boy, and the living adjustment was clear as they finally had a bit of money left over. Though, the small Ceardian boy does remember a time before the added wealth, a much more strenuous, though an endearing time for the Voss family. His younger brother, Felix was born around this time. Friedrich being the more built, and perhaps more forward brother would always push Felix to his limits. He’d have a knack for bothering the young boy, and there was a blurred line between ruthlessness and care through some severe moments in their relationship. His father had high aspirations that his son would take the mantle within the chapter, and be a trained combatant much like himself, taking Haymitch to tournaments and spars, hiring low-cost trainers to teach him the ways around a blade. Unfortunately, one of these lower-class mentors ended up taking advantage of Friedrich at a young age, abused him, unknowingly to his father— as the young boy was too afraid, and conflicted to admit anything. By this time Haymitch grew a thicker layer of skin, his temper would noticeably flare more so then any adolescent nature would warrant. Adolescence Due to his past, his training grew tiresome. Haymitch noticeably had some stance against the whole system of combatants and how he was involved, so he pleaded with his father to take him out of the small school and send him off to Regalia to be taught in medicine, and expensive, although highly valued knowledge. Begrudgingly, his father dismissed him to the crown city. Upon arriving, Haymitch took heavily to drinking, drugs, and alcohol made up a good component of his coming to age phase. He was considered the life of the party sometimes, though this light did burn out after years of wear— growing much dimmer than his younger brother. His partying stage only lasted for so long before he began to haphazardly invest his time into his trade. He never really became involved with his practice until midway through the academy in which he garnered an interesting intrigue for the trade. His eyes were always down in a book, taverns and brothels were in the past, he never grew less amusing nor charismatic, but he did have a sense of wisdom that shrouded his speech as he grew into his passion. Adulthood His curiosity grew as he delved into some of the more lucrative and undesirable forms of healing. Not only was it his curiosity that fueled him, but it was also his paranoia that when it mattered, he’d not be able to heal someone by physical means. He learned the Healing Grace spell in confidence and secrecy from the Medical Academy, and hasn’t used it on anyone since learned, and will only do so in life-threatening, and personal situations. He now seeks to find a guard chapter to continue his practice and fieldwork. Clearly showcasing some skill in his art, and charisma behind his word, who knows what the future will tell, but for now, the Voss is situated in a comforting place for once in his life.
