Her father had sent her to live in Regalia to seek out a better life with her Ailor mother. Her current occupation is being an apprentice to Allison Reid. Rizana Sheikh was originally born in Farah'deen on December 1, 281 AC to a Amin Sheikh, and Flore Crispin. Not long after her birth Flore had returned to Regalia to further her studies in botany, leaving behind Rizana. In Rizana’s current mind set she has no siblings or half-siblings. A secondary ambition of Rizana’s is that she wants to improve her confidence. She lacks the self-confidence to tell herself that she’s good at what she does. She also wants to improve her social skills so that she doesn’t want to come off as emotionless or blunt. She has improved drastically ever since she came back from Daendroc but she has her moments where she just shuts off her emotions. She has large deep brown almond shaped eyes that are often shrouded by her bangs. She has long but thin eyelashes that often get stuck in her eyes. She has a small heart face shaped face with full lips. She mostly tends to keep her hair in a tight bun to keep her curly hair’s maintenance to a minimum. When her hair is out of the bun it reaches down to her waist in thick curls. [*]Rizana has a toned body shape from her years of running around Regalia, and traveling in Daendroc while studying plant life. She has a long jagged scar running running down the middle of her top right forearm to the end of her wrist. [*]Rizana typically wears a simple dress with minimal accessories. She usually likes to wear dark colored dresses believing that it would help her blend into the background. She doesn’t like to use weapons all that much unless they’re for defense, or if she has to use them by default. [*]She has a soft feminine voice with a hint of a Claith accent that she had picked up while living with her mother. She tends to talk quietly but clearly due to her calm nature. Currently she can speak Modern Elven, Faraddi, and Common. Though when she speaks Modern Elven she has a hard time pronouncing some words so she might be misunderstood wrong. As a toddler Amin often spoke to Rizana in Faraddi and Common so she was able to pick up the languages quickly and continued to speak Faraddi as she grew older with the help of her mother. Personality and Abilities The perception of Rizana can be somewhat ranged depending on her environment. While she is talking to strangers they might think she is somewhat emotionless. While she is reading a book and talking to someone she might come off as a tad bit blunt because seems to only care about studying than social interaction at times. Rizana lacks a lot of self-confidence in her abilities but when a something needs to be done she’s prepared for it. She sees herself as a quiet individual, and prefers to fade into the background to avoid unwanted attention. She notices that at times she becomes a little more social when she is able to discuss a topic she is familiar with or is in a comfortable atmosphere. She is very self-critical of herself which causes her to lack any self-confidence in her abilities. Towards friends and family she keeps her calm nature but is more willing to do stuff out of her comfort zone. There are times where she will have to play the mediator between her friends if they were to get into a dispute. Though compared to her talking to her friends rather than around strangers she seems a tad bit more open and not as blunt. Rizana likes to believe that there’s is no good nor evil in a person. She believes this because to her there is no right or wrong answer, it’s all based on the perspective of the person. To her if one were to think committing a crime is wrong she’d think it as their way of doing what’s right in their mind. Rizana tends to view everyone at an equal level even if they’re from a higher social standing. When it comes to viewing nobles she still views them as if they were any other person but she respects them as higher-authority. As for her worldview she thinks it’s there’s both chaos, and peace in the world. There is an equilibrium between the two that will remain constant. Talents Intelligent: Surprisingly enough, Rizana is quite intelligent despite her lack of schooling. As a child she tended to read any book she could get her hands on just for the pure enjoyment of it. Overtime reading had caused her to develop a tendency to pay attention to smaller details that others don’t tend to see. She is capable of memorizing faces, as well as medical subjects very quickly if taught to her or read. Perception: Throughout her entire childhood when her nose wasn’t stuffed in a book she had spent her days running the streets wherever she could. While she was running she’d pay attention to the people around her. She’d pay attention to their body language, how they spoke, and how they held themselves. Combat: For someone of her stature and muscle tone she is actually surprisingly strong. Three years before she had left for Daendroc she had strengthened her body and learned combat so that she could defend herself if necessary. While learning combat her tutor had taught her how to throw knives with accurate precision. He had also helped Rizana develop her flexibility so that she could use it to her advantage in combat. Weaknesses No formal training so whilst she's good with daggers, she's capable of fighting people who have had proper training in combat schools. Spoiler: Personality and Abilities (Expansion) Quirks: Enochlophobia: Before Rizana came to Regalia she lived in a crowded household with her father, cousins, and her aunt and uncle. Even back then she wasn’t a fan of crowds but that eventually lead her to develop a fear of large crowds. She’s trying to overcome this and has had some success so far but she still tends to stick to smaller crowds. Whenever someone brings up the idea of Rizana finding a lover Rizana quickly becomes embarrassed and tends to come up with an excuse to leave the area to avoid being the center of attention. If she is unable to escape she will pull out a book in order to distract herself from the conversation and act like it doesn’t affect her. When faced with a large crowd Rizana will tend to stick to the sidelines or she will just run off entirely. Abilities: In addition to Rizana’s knowledge of botany, she had been taught how to play the piano after her mother died. Though she knows how to play she doesn’t tend to prioritize it above her knowledge of botany. She is also slightly skilled in archery from her training but she prefers to use daggers for self-defense. She knows three languages: Common, Faraddi, and Modern Elven. She can read, speak, and write in Elven and Common but she can only speak Faraddi. Likes: Reading: Ever since Rizana was four she had adored reading. There is hardly ever a moment where she isn’t seen reading a book or having one at hand. Due to this Flore had called her a “mobile librarian” due to Rizana’s tendencies to carry around books. Plant Care: When Rizana isn’t wandering around the cities or studying, she can be seen taking care of several different types of household plants. Her study is littered with different breeds of plants and vines. At one point one of her friends had commented that it could rival a Yanar’s home. Solitude: Rizana prefers the peace and quiet of her own home rather than being in a populated area. Music: When given chance Rizana will tend to play the piano to use it as a way to calm herself down if she’s feeling aggravated or upset. Dislikes: Being the center of attention: Ever since Rizana first came to Regalia she didn’t like to be the main focus of a conversation or be the center of attention in a group. Even on her own birthdays she felt extremely uncomfortable with the position she was in. Alcohol: She believes that most alcohol has a bitter taste but is willing to drink wine or champagne if given the chance to. When she does drink alcohol she has a tendency to be a light-weight with it taking only small amounts of alcohol to get her drunk in comparison to Amin who could just about consume any alcohol and not get tipsy. Crowds: Rizana has a strong dislike for large crowds stemming from her Enochlophobia. Whenever she runs into a large crowd or is dragged towards one she tends to stick to the outskirts of the crowd or stick by the friend dragging her through it. Preferably she’d want to avoid it all together. Useless arguing: Rizana gets quite irritated when people argue over the silliest topics. During Rizana’s infancy she was primarily raised by Amin (Father) after her mother had moved back to Regalia to continue her studies in botany. A couple months after Flore (Mother) left, Amin (Father) had to eventually return to work so he had sent a letter to his older brother, Waheed (Paternal Uncle) and his wife, Anam (Paternal Aunt) in order to seek assistance with raising Rizana. Once they had arrived the care of Rizana was passed over to Waheed (Paternal Uncle). As a toddler, Rizana tended to long herself in her room in order to avoid her older cousins. Which had often caused visitors to think she was a sickly child. By age four Waheed (Paternal Uncle) had begun to teach her the basics of reading and writing, which she had excelled at compared to her older cousins. After awhile she began to sneak into her mother’s old study and began to read basic books on plant care. At age five Amin (Father) took notice to her daughter’s reading habits and decided to send her to Flore in Regalia so that she could expand her education rather than having to learn individually. 5-10 Even though Rizana tended to avoid her cousins as a child it developed into a phobia once she realized how crowded Regalia was compared to her home town. Even though she failed at it most of the time she had tried to avoid any crowd that she laid her eyes on. This had caused her to not have many friends besides the ones that her mother’s friends’ children. Despite Amin’s (Father) wishes Flore (Mother) had not sent Rizana to a proper schooling, and instead taught Rizana in subjects ranging from history to mathematics. Compared to history, Rizana didn’t particularly enjoy the mathematics. All she generally wanted to study were subjects similar to the books she had read as a toddler. At age six Rizana was frequently picked on by Ailor and Qadir children alike as she wandered the street for being a half-breed. This had contributed her to develop a calmer personality in order for her to be easily forgotten. As much as she pleaded with Flore (Mother) to teach her botany, Flore (Mother) had told Rizana that she had to wait until she was eight to learn. Once Rizana had turned eight-years-old, her mother almost immediately began teaching her the basics of plant care, and botany. At first her studies started out slow so that Flore (Mother) could ease her into the teachings, rather than going full force like Flore’s (Mother) teacher had done before her. Rizana took to the lessons almost immediately and took in every word Flore (Mother) had told her. 10-15 Not too long before Rizana’s tenth birthday, tragedy had struck and her mother had fallen ill with an unknown ailment. A few days after this ailment was discovered, Rizana was taken away from her mother in order to prevent her from contracting the illness well. Weeks upon weeks went by before Rizana heard any news of Flore (Mother), but by the time she heard any news of her mother it was her tenth birthday and her mother was declared deceased at midnight. After her mother’s death Rizana was adopted by her mother’s close friend, Aceline Bilodeau (Adoptive-Mother). Flore’s (Mother) death had left Rizana in a state of depression and she hardly spoke to anyone unless she was spoken to. She only ever truly found joy whenever she was locked away in her bedroom reading over the books left behind by her mother’s death. Between the time Rizana was ten to thirteen, Aceline (Adoptive-Mother) had tried to teach Rizana piano so that she wouldn’t be locked in her room constantly. At the time Rizana had proven to be a natural at it but she didn’t take interest in playing the piano outside of her lessons. Once Rizana had turned thirteen she had started to study the medicinal aspect of plants, rather than just studying their general properties. At this time she had also came up with the idea to extend her research by traveling to Daendroc to study the plant life. Once she had turned fourteen she started to physically, and mentally prepare for the trip to Daendroc. She had hired a freelance self-defense tutor to help strengthen her body, teach her combat, and to improve her agility for the trip to Daendroc. 15-Present By the time her seventeenth birthday came around Rizana had left Regalia behind in order to pursue her self-studies in herbalism. While she was there she had studied the plant life of various species. Though the plant that had really caught her eye of study was the Ruby Flower. She had studied it before and has worked with it before but she has never seen it in its natural habitat. Rizana hesitantly returned to Regalia on March 11, 302. Sticking to her usual habits Rizana had avoided just about all human contact for five months in order to continue her studies. Getting no where she had decided to attend The School of Alchemy for three years to further her studies. Once she concluded her alchemy studies in 305 she had went back to her usual habits of reading but decided to read in the tavern rather than in her own home. There she met with old friends and made new ones that had convinced her to try to open herself up to people rather than being a seemingly emotionless being. Also around this time she was taken under the wing of Allison Reid (Teacher) to learn more about medicine. Present day, Rizana is currently helping at Sawbones as a student of Allison Reid (Teacher).
Review time! First off, beautiful application. Aesthetics are my weakness, From reading her life story and combat talent, I would reccomend adding a weakness pertaining to her not formally attending any sort if fighting school as simply learning self defense could make her weak to those with proper training. The only reason I would like you to add a weakness, really, is due to her being an intelligent and also strong character. Also, in her life story there are many different people listed, could you add a snipit of who they are after they are mentioned? That's all I'm asking! Please edit in a different color and tag me when you're done!
