Hello! I'd like to point out something about the staff Role play wise. They tend to stick around with each other and a SMALL group of premiums. Im not trying to be mean but, if I were in the staff I'd role play with everyone I could, premium, staff, and non-premiums. I am a HUGE fan of Massivecraft not to mention role playing, and of my about a year and a half of role playing on Massivecraft as a non-premium, I have roleplayed with a staff member once, and it wasn't pleasant either, they attacked my character. I'd think it'd be fun to have the staff interact and role play with non-premiums and make a more united community. I'd love to see the staff roleplaying with everyone!

Thanks for reading and taking the time to notice!

I feel like these roleplay "cliques" tend to be rather hostile to newcomers. However his sis not without good reason, the staff usually don't like seeing the lore they put so much effort into horribly butchered by noobs like me.

The staff roleplay with whoever walks up to them. You just have to put the effort in.
For example, I've roleplayed with @Ryciera before, when she robbed me like the hooligan she was.
I've roleplayed with Thomas Kade (@Tom1804) too, he has scolded one of my characters before..and maybe got arrested. (Is was so worth it, I had fun! xD)
@Eliza_Nightly was Roleplay staff, and I roleplayed with her a lot. She was my favorite, so approachable, and she was the best! It was like, you could not have no fun with her.

I have tried to roleplay with staff members, they just tell my characters to get lost or just ignore me. They tend to just say one thing then continue roleplaying with each other. This makes me feel like the staff isn't really doing their job... they made a roleplay server... then roleplay!

I am willing to roleplay with almost anyone, as long as they are willing to approach me. I stopped frequently trying to approach people I was not familiar with, as they would often go ooc or just be plum silly. I am not sure if it is due to intimidation with my rank as a staff member or if they just see me as an ooc figure predominantly, but if you see me with any Nick besides "nommy" (I am ooc then), I would be happy to roleplay.

I find this thread really offputting and offensive. I roleplay with anyone that walks up to me, and even avoided most Rp staff in the past weeks. As the owner of the Regalian Tavern I talk to everyone.

Here is what I find:
Intrude on their rp, they tell you to go away.
Start when they are not in rp, and they do not care who you are, they RP with you.
I have rp-ed with a bunch of staff, this point is invalid.

Yes, people DO tend to screw up lore, but why not help in force it? One of the little [A] things said to feel free to help people out with lore. Why write that and not do it yourself! Im not trying to be mean... but to me, this is how things look.

Still, their characters tend to be mean and scary

First, I get it. Staff can seem a bit intimidating, and some of our roleplay is indeed very fast paced. One thing to keep in mind however, is that staff love massive just as much as you; it's why we're staff. If it seems like we tend to ignore others, it's simply because some of our time to actually rp is limited, and we may have specific people we want to spend that rp time with. That's not universal, but it's true for quite a few staff.

I try to rp with anyone that makes sense for my character to talk to, or interact with. Then again, my character is a grumpy elvish ranger, so that "Scary staff rp" can certainly come into affect. But if you're being a fair writer, and roleplaying decently and with manners, staff will be more than willing to rp with you. Would we, lore staff, want to roleplay with the kind of poor roleplayers we just got done teaching/jailing? It's like police officers spending their leisure time with prisoners; it's not something we aim to do.

Well, it relies on the character.
For example, Thomas Kade strongly dislikes strangers.
The staff members' characters are usually very nice, I find your point invalid. >:V
I guess its just me, but any time I have tried to roleplay with them, there characters are rather mean. It possibly could be the fact my characters are a Tigran and a Naga Slither :/

ą¹–Ū£ŪœI think I know where this situation has arisen, as well as got an answer for it.
( @Apartparasite ) I can probably bet the staff members you have tried to RP with are nobility. Some nobility ( @MonMarty ) will approach some characters and are usually willing for conversation. Other staff that are nobility are following the duty of their character; usually being a racist side whom only likes to converse with those who have a familiar cup of wine. I always end up in situations nearby staff at some point, erm, almost always in a non-friendly manner through RP, but sometimes it's just how people roll. Some of my best friends are greatly despised by my own characters, and the only reason so is that I am following my character. Also, I wouldn't think it should be too much priority to actually RP with a staff member. They might have quality RP and a blue name, but it doesn't mean they'll become your best enemy or best friend. The only thing really stopping anything is that they are being their own character. Try becoming a noble, or having a human character. Nobles tend to be a bit nicer to humans due to unionism, as well as personality of your character can contrast a million times to their own. A final thing to recognize is professionalization. The more professional you are, I can probably bet the more professional characters will want to approach you or have you approach them in a friendly/unfriendly manner. Use better words. Not happy, ecstatic. Not laugh darkly, chortled. If all else fails; well, that's it. You've failed. And failure can even be an option here. Not all characters are meant to click together into place like a puzzle.

To sum this up in a couple words if you don't want to read the paragraph with more description;
They're being their character, and you are being your own. If you cannot approach them, either keep trying, or try a player with a more relate-able social status, i. g. commoner, slave, etc. Just because they aren't staff, doesn't mean they can't make your RP character become a whole new person and story!

(Anyone who disagrees with what I say, please do correct it. Baby-sitting and forums are a difficult combination.)

ą¹–Ū£ŪœIf I can spot you in game, I'll try to approach you if you really wish. And it is my pleasure! I am not a staff at all, but I like to help people anyways.~ <3

When I wanted to role play with staff or other premiums it was and still is really hard for me if theyre in a group o___o Suddenly my appearance in real life changes to Stella as I slowly become her freakishly shy personality and turtle behind a wall...paralyzed..watching with wide eyes...as I am filled with so much want..the want and desire to role-play.. But that's my own fault :P (But now I need to catch up on all the lore before doing that all over again XD)

And so.. it was like..

So much want...but too intimidated to mmoooovvvvveeee

EDIT: Even so I think I have role-played with a couple staff members in the past. They can be pretty interesting haha

I love RPing with you...Your outfit blows me away everytime x3

But yes- it helps to get a decent skin, brush up on lore a bit and eventually if you keep getting at it, you'll break through the label/barrier of being stereotyped as a noob; eventually you'll get into a group at least..a clique. And then slowly network your way around I suppose xD

I'd hate to purposely join a /clique/, I purposely try to direct my characters toward people I don't really know OOC and people I do know OOC, meaning I attempt to role play with just about everyone. For my character "Aron Santorski" I use the Regalian Guard to help myself communicate to the commoners, due to this character being someone that would usually avoid them, I had to find some sort of way to do this. I will keep myself in situations to where anyone can approach me so I can communicate with just about everyone. Although I understand this thread was primarily made for staff to respond like this, it's still something I very well attempt to do, limiting yourself within a group makes the role play experience less fun for everyone, at least that's my two bits on the matter.

@Apartparasite
I was staff for a bit and I'm still nervous to randomly join in with more advanced role players due to my lack of self esteem x'3 You just need to be a character that gets drunk and starts fights with complete strangers <3 yeah, don't do that.

It's tricky, but don't give up! Even if you only get a snip of a conversation with a staffmember's character, that tidbit can easily open up future interactions with them-- and maybe you'll get cooked into steak :'3

I call bananas, @Feyona tries her best to help new roleplayers, and I RPed with her once or twice. (Well, before she was staff.)

Feyona probably will give you cookies if you ask. :D

Well like almost everyone else is saying, Staff will roleplay with anyone that walks up to them, and starts to roleplay with them.
That's why I decided whenever I see @_Omnomivore_ and she is in her Q'urebo character, I am no doubt going to try to have my Q'urebo become friends with hers :)
and to see what the little A'fria is like...
(Or how ever you spell the "rodent" subrace of Q'urebo)
