The Order of the Rangers is a small tactical corp of Knights, specifically skilled in scouting, skirmish-fighting, guerilla warfare, and otherwise. The band is at its lowest count in history and has a history of tragically high mortality and maiming counts. The organization is therefore dedicated to serving the Empire and humanity in general by growing their numbers and going on incredibly dangerous missions. While generally considered fool hardly, the organization is always well prepared and well trained, and it shows in the strict self-policing of their members.
Current Day, the Order is led by Jared Luchs Kade (tragically, only due to the four previous Section Commanders and Commandant all dying), as Rangers from across the Empire are slowly recruited to go on missions to benefit the kathar war effort.
The Order of Rangers follows the Code of the Great Oak, with a singular addition known as the "Ranger Tenet", itself an attempt to instill a more traditional sense of honor in the Order, and counts the following souls among its roster.
- Ranger Tenet I - A Ranger seeks to protect humanum, no matter the personal cost. There is no greater honor than giving one's life for humanum. A Ranger does not rush to greet their death, but they use everything in their power to make their death matter when it comes to meet them.
Great Oak I - The pursuit of glory is the highest need of the Knights of the Great Oak. A Knight must always ambition to greater purpose, and find cause during down time for great achievements such as hunts, jousts, patronage of the art, and to make all see and hear.
Great Oak II - The Knights of the Great Oak are above religious identity, and should aim to treat all religions as equals before the Great Oak.
Great Oak III - To challenge Knights of all other orders is the greatest pursuit of a test of mettle and strength. To deny a challenge from an equal is a sin against the Great Oak.
