From the regal Kinwrey House of Howlester to the Talamh Gall Clan of MacDonnagh, the Highland Games has been a staple for Gallovia’s people for centuries. Even through hardships, the Highland Games are held each year as a testament to the hardy, persevering Highlanders for entertainment and glory . Combining a mixture of strength and agility-based physical tests, the Highland Games are a true trial of might for all whilst also being a festival of brother and sisterhood for the many visitors and guests both from the populated Highland regions and elsewhere. Following last year's success, the Gallovian Royal Court once again has made adequate preparations for the Games to be open for participation by all, with the venue for the festivities being the Crown Isle proper for the first time in Regalian History. With promise of a full Gallovian cultural experience; complete with cuisine, events, clothing, stalls and naturally the games themselves; House Howlester has put out the call for Noble Families and Influential Groups (Clandestine and Mercenaries) to submit champions for the games to compete in their honor and for a grand reward of 30,000 regals, a custom Howlingsteel weapon or jewelry piece, clothing (In game skin), Howlester favor, and a title within the Gallovian Royal Court to the ultimate victor across all five disciplines. Caber tossing; Haggis throwing; barrel swimming; Laecgaen wrestling and for the first time in Gallovian history, a display of Highland fashion and poise are the major disciplines this year! Beginning today, for the entry fee of 5,000 regals; all title holders and any influencials may submit one champion for each event to compete in their honor for the opportunity to seize the awards listed! The Games will begin on the 9th of August until the 15th of August, with each discipline taking place from the 10th to the 14th with minor events and shows taking place in the off time; such as archery competitions, displays of magic; a gala and much much more! The only rules to candidates are as follows: Urls may not participate. Magical abilities must not be used. Highland fashion is recommended throughout the festival, but not required. To the Lady Howlester, My name is Leuthar van Vichten. I am writing this letter with the hope that you will consider me for a booth during your festivities. I have dedicated most of my life to researching ancient ruins and their architectural styles. In my old age, I have learned to appreciate any opportunity to share my knowledge with anyone who might be interested in it. Therefore, I would like to teach a course on Ancient Culture from the booth. I would bring parts of ancient pots and statues as part of the exhibit and will be showing attendees how to accurately recreate ancient pottery by using the original remnants as reference. Attendees will even be able to keep their recreations as a souvenir. I feel that during times of war, the importance of scholarship is understated. It is for this reason that I am looking for opportunities to provoke interest in academia once again.
