She's been described as distinguished with scarily discerning eyes, and a nose that bears an arching scar from some brutal injury. It's equally noticeable to have likely been broken more than once and has become a somewhat disfigured feature of hers. BODY | Valkyrie is, quite frankly, a rock. A boulder too big even for storms to move. She holds herself with a certain poise as she easily towers over most who meet her. Broad shoulders, masculine arms and hands accentuate her imposing nature. The shadow she casts could near fill a room from years of grueling and agonizing building and sculpting. It's simply a body of enormous leverage. FASHION | Her preference lies in practicality and function. Though admittedly, she also lacks much of a taste for fashion and what would generally look flattering on her. VISUAL INFORMATION • EYE COLOR | Stormy Blue • HAIR COLOR | Dirty Blonde • HAIR STYLE | Overgrown Wolf Cut • SKIN TONE | Lightly Tanned • CLOTHING | Functional, toned down colors • HEIGHT | 7'5 VISUAL INFORMATION • ALIGNMENT | Chaotic Good ∙ [ In her youth, Valkyrie was known for her short temper and ferocity, both as a soldier and once sergeant. She'd been quick to brawl, and always talked of her next duel. However, seemingly with age and experience, Valkyrie would come to know the error of her ways and would at last admit to her growing independence from the need to prove herself- following her own code. ]• PERSONALITY TYPE | INTJ-A/INTJ-T ∙ [ She is in constant analysis and perceives the world around her with a rational and quick-witted consideration. She thirsts for knowledge not often popular amongst society; texts that could challenge the ideals she once held so dear to her. She's become thoughtful, and lacks much patience for distractions and gossip. ]• FAITH | 8/10 LIFE STORY • CHAPTER ONE | Birth - Tweens ∙ Born on November 3rd, 281 AC to Asmund and Irma Lothgard, Valkyrie would become the eldest of later two younger sisters; Helka and Thurid. Life was simple, the Lothgard family resorting to farming as a means of solid income between raiding. Rather often, Valkyrie would guide her two sisters through the forests and fjords to the nearby town of Kongehjem for trade and goods. ∙ Inspired by the fierce independence of her mother and the intensity of her father, the young Valkyrie made a request of them that would soon change the entire course of her life; to learn to fight. Born with a natural fire and thirst for the thrill of battle, she would be handed an axe and train on the cool evenings with her father. ∙ But training was hard, and her father was often strict when it came to challenging his daughter. His expectations would be set high and his future for Valkyrie already planned out for her. Asmund was a cold, and often cruel teacher- but Valkyrie remained a studious listener. • CHAPTER TWO | Teens -Young Adult ∙ But as Valkyrie got older, the simple wonder of the farm soon aged along with her. What once was a playground teeming with all sorts of interests, now only seemed a simple cottage. She'd spend her evenings training, and afterwards take her sisters to fish in the nearby banks. ∙ She'd remember though, distinctly, the blaring horn that signaled the return of raiders from their travels. No matter the task at hand, she'd often chase for the grassy hills to watch as the long boats breached the hidden shores between the vast fjords. She'd watch woman and man return to their loved ones, bearing fruit of a good journey with them. For some reason she couldn't explain, her heart yearned for that kinsman-ship amongst them. She wished to board the boats and sail for some great perhaps. ∙ Her wishes would be granted sooner than she'd expect, and Asmund would surprise her with a chance to join the Nordskag lodge the moment she reached a suitable age. Under any normal circumstances, Valkyrie would've been nervous- perhaps hesitant, but under the careful watch of Asmund, he'd trained a bitter and cold character out of her. Long gone was the hopeful child, and what stood new was a soldier ready to kill.• CHAPTER THREE | Young Adult - Adult ∙ Valkyrie would be left alone to face the next set of challenges and to follow in her father's footsteps; to join amongst the Voldsomarg discipline. But when the final decision was to be made, with the absence of her father to influence her next choice, Valkyrie would enlist herself into the skjærenek discipline. In those years, she had thought herself to be more than just her father. He was ripening with age, and a new generation would soon rise. ∙ Years would go by, and where Valkyrie once took place near the bottom of her fellow Skaggers, she now rose to one of the top. But this hadn't just been by skill alone. Valkari had spent hours of her time beating strength into her body; molding herself as though she were molding steel into a sharpened sword. But what lay beneath that was a deep anger. And it burned and boiled beneath the surface. Little did she know, she was turning more and more like her father, and she'd yet even realize it. ∙ Home with her family and sisters didn't feel like home anymore, truthfully. She'd developed a brotherhood amongst the others, but when the time came, she took the opportunity and sailed back for home. ∙ She'd crest over the familiar hills, cross snaking creeks, trek through trees the size of giants; all places from her childhood where her sisters would play. Periodically, Valkyrie would wonder what had become of her sisters, but she often brushed aside such thoughts. Her father's appearance had irked her; thinning cheeks, wiry hair, hollow eyes. It was the sick making of some cruel god. Something within Asmund was failing him. An ailment he bitterly considered weakness. And when Asmund felt weak, he never asked for help. It'd become apparent that her parent's lands were being contested by a nearby villager for their land, and it truly didn't take much of an idiot to deduct why now of all times. ∙ Valkyrie’s anger tempted her rationality, but she'd take it on her own to face the challenger. Her father would be told nothing, of course. She had assumed his pride would prevent him from agreeing with her. ∙ After winning the challenge, Valkyrie would pass off the responsibility of the family home to her mother and younger sisters. She had excused herself in being unable to stay long, but in truth, she did it for herself. She'd convinced herself that she was doing Asmund a favor by not spending his last moments together. She knew he wouldn't want her to see him weak. So instead, she accepted an opportunity from the local Rahkr of some distant town and became his housecarl.• CHAPTER FOUR | Present ∙ News of her father's death presented itself as a letter from Helka, the youngest. Death had been an abundant thing this year, seemingly. The Rahkr Valkyrie had served had passed on from tuberculosis, and now she sought familiarity. But that wouldn't be with her family. Instead, she'd ride on for the Skaggers in Nordskag to offer her experience. ∙ She'd be accepted as a teacher beneath the skjærenek discipline and allowed to teach the new-bloods that decided to join. ∙ Not long after, the Calemburg invaded their lands. Valkyrie, along with the rest of the Skaggers, would fight hard- but the brutal methods of their opposition would prove overwhelming. The Skaggers' numbers depleted, their lines sliced through, and the enemy coming in endless waves. Amongst the confrontations, Valkyrie would earn her signature facial scar and be forced to retreat. ∙ Despite the daze, Valkyrie can still vividly remember looking back upon the burning land to witness the Calemburg's brutality. Corpses hung from trees, heads severed, bodies speared through spikes. Every last bit of effort was put into mutilating the bodies the Velheim left behind. ∙ Valkyrie sought asylum from the war in the city of Regalia, all in hopes of profiting off of its abundance to then provide back for her family. She'd arrive upon the southern land and be surprised to find it a melting pot of the rest of the world. She'd be forced out of her discomforts, her culture shock, all for the sake of survival.
Hello Valorist, here is my review for your character: Body Stat: Racial boosted proficiency does not count towards body stat. In addition to this, you've forgotten to add your shielding proficiency points in the calculation. Unfortunately this puts you at 23, and requires you to either change body shape or change proficiency point allocation. Once you've amended this, tag me and I'll take another look.
Hey! Just fixed some points over with the new Ailor boost, including a recalculation of the physical stats. Edit: Also made changes to her backstory, just expanded a bit on certain concepts.
Hey! I just made some changes to her history regarding her sister's recent appearance I also fixed the personality and abilities section so the application itself is a little shorter
Hey dude! So, Valkari just got a whole lot scarier; New inclusion with Orc Will of Faith under the Special Traits Section. Orc religion added to fit alongside original religion. Change of points for higher body stat- including body stat for Orc shape shift. Change of niche and life story to allow a power drive and sense of purpose- including how she came about the Orc Will of Faith.
Hey! Removed that Orc shift Special Trait, which included fixing the backstory as well as bopping down her physical stat. Sorry for the inconvenience
Hello I will be filling in for now! Tag Katie for future reference. +15, +13, +7, +5 = 40. You have her bodystat as 45. Please clarify sources, other than that no other issues!
Ack! Sorry about that, I be more careful for future reference. I got those numbers fixed, so we should be good!
@Katiesc Hey! Fixed up her entire backstory including these few additions; - A more descriptive perspective of her life as a simple farmer - Inclusion of winning a Hjemgang, a fight for land in this context and how winning that birthed a new drive for community respect - Serves under a simple local Rahkr as a housecarl before he passes away - Returns to Drixagh as a mentor for the School of Skaggers
@Katiesc Just a quick check over with the new Ailor lineages! Picked Drahl, highlighted in blue to make it easy.
