"Regalia's First Formal Academy of Lecgaen and the Unarmed Arts"
Aspiring to be the first academy of its kind in Regalia, The Grand Lecgaen Gridiron offers mentorship in unarmed combat, athleticism and body-care to the people of Regalia.
Despite a primary focus on Lecgaen Wrestling, the Gridiron also welcomes Graklak Boxing mentors and practitioners to teach and cross-train at their leisure.
At the moment, The Gridiron does not have a gym or an official training place, and instead simply set up wherever they can. They can often be found in the park. Plans are currently underway to buy a building to turn into a gym.
| Roles |
- Management -
- Head Coach | Mánus of Bhacstair
The owner, boss, and person in charge of the Gridiron.
- Administration |
Essentially the people doing the real administration work. The Head Coach seeks to host classes, seminars, and spar with students. As a result, he would rather not have to spend great amounts of time bothering with paperwork and other tasks of business. Such is left to the administration. They will help set up events, help manage the discord, and help manage the member list.
- Staff -
| Coaches and Mentors- Lecgaen Coach |
Those with high unarmed who specialise in the grappling style of Lecgaen may become Lecgaen Coaches, offering wrestling lessons and sparring roleplay. Gallovian and Crown Isle styles are both accepted, though coaches are expected to have at least a basic OOC understanding of at least one style of wrestling, and a few submissions such as joint-locks and chokes. Expect commadiere, friendly grappling CRP, training and competitions.
- Graklak Coach |
Those with high unarmed who specialise in the boxing style of Graklak may become Graklak Coaches, offering boxing lessons and sparring roleplay. Coaches are expected to have at least a basic OOC understanding of boxing, and a good capacity to translate t hat into fun roleplay. Expect friendly CRP, fun boxing training RP, competition and playful rivalry from the Lecgaen purists
- Hybrid Coach |
Coaches who specialise in hybrid forms - such as a Muay Thai inspired kicker, a Lecgaen-Graklak ground-and-pounder, or perhaps even a Varran claw-fighter - will all fall under the role of a 'Hybrid Coach'. Their styles can not be classed as pure Lecgaen nor Graklak, and as a result such coaches may host more unique classes on unarmed combat based outside of Wrestling or Boxing.
- Strength and Fitness Coach |
Those with high athleticism or body-care proficiency may become Strength and Fitness coaches, offering conditioning classes and general workout roleplay. Expect gym-bro workout roleplay and jogging across the city - likely getting involved in random situations you might encounter.
- Reception Staff |
The receptionist is expected to be a person with good people-skills, who will welcome people into whatever area the Gridiron may be set up. They are also expected to record and manage a log-book of people who have paid and entered for lessons.
- Medical Staff |
On-site medical personnel are expected to offer first-aid to injured fighters. They are offered respect and fair pay for their services, and are to be treated with decency when working within the Gridiron.
- Members -
- Novices |
Anyone who shows up and joins in is considered a novice. New members who are highly skilled already will find themselves quickly advancing past this rank, though members who are inexperienced will spend a small amount of time here until they prove their dedication.
- Students |
Anyone who proves themselves to be dedicated and serious about improving is considered a student. Students of Lecgaen become part of the Grid's Dearth even if they are not a highlander, and are invited in to a kind of comradeship based off that known to the Highland Caerdian Ailor. Members who train at the Grid but do not train any Lecgaen will become part of the Grid's brotherhood, though will not be considered proper members of the Dearth.
- Grid Fighter |
Students who are skilled enough can become Grid Fighters after they complete their first competition fight as members of the Gridiron. Grid Fighters are considered skilled and knowledgeable - promising members with proven form and capabilities in their chosen arts.
- Grid Champion |
Grid Fighters who place first in a competition can become Grid Champions. This role is often temporary as Grid Champions must maintain their rank and accept challenge-matches or return to the rank of Grid Fighter. Champions are considered among the best the Gridiron has to offer - the peak of unarmed prowess and the most respected of members

Trivia
Mánus of Bhacstair hosted Lecgaen seminars for The Vigilant Shield in the past - it was through their friendly and welcoming community that Mánus' desire to teach was reignited.
Some highlanders have accused Mánus of "selling out" and teaching their people's art to foreigners for a quick paycheck. Mánus disregards these claims as spiteful slander, though despite his dismissal such allegations are known to upset him.
The very first members of the Gridiron, funnily enough, were actually Graklak fighters looking to cross-train and share techniques. It is due to this that Mánus decided to fully accept the inclusion of other unarmed styles rather limiting the Gridiron to Lecgaen only.
Mánus originally had plans to lay down soft carpet felt beneath a layer of Ovirran Elastan. When he found out the actual price of Elastan, he quickly gave up on the idea and settled for a cheap washable cover of cloth.
