Art Critics Thread

I recommend looking at anatomy or body of similar types to him to become more accurate. I assume that is a guy, so i'll just give a few pointers! :D
As I've said to Gabauchi: Symmetry is key unless it is your intention to be asymmetrical.
For males, their jaw head and jaw are more angular and pronounced (unless it is a youngling xD)
Male bodies have a more square shape. As said, unless it is a child, try broadening and angling down the shoulders a tad.
For shading, you have a great start, just keep going at it!
For the nose shape: noses consist of three circles at the bottom. A larger one in the middle, and smaller ones at the side. Their sizes change depending on the nose and depending on the expression made. for the two circles at the sides, make a small, upward arc that goes into the circle, that connects into the larger circle naturally (so connect it where it doesn't make an edge.)

Very good start!

It's just a doodle so I did literally no shading but I still wanna know if there's stuff that I can improve on ye

Also @Gartono
I'll be a bit nit-picky because if I'm not, I wouldn't be able to give any advice because of how nice it is! :D
Try to define the nose more in terms of its shape.
The edge connecting the neck to the traps (the muscle between the neck and shoulder) could be a bit more rounded off, as females have more rounded shapes.

I have nothing else to say! I love the line art! :D

this seems interesting
a commission which i'm doing digitally that i sketched out today in science because i was bored. i also realise that i've messed the horns up.

Increase canvas size and therefore increasing the brush. It will help hide the 'pixlation' of the program and allow much smoother lines. If you are talking in terms of the lines them selves, just take time making smoother outlines!

Your drawings are very different, and by different I mean I love it.
Thank you! and as your one of the only people who have commented do you mind if I ask you of what you think of my new style im trying

I love it! Just add shading and it will be amazing as all hell. Seeing as this is a more bright, vibrant type of art, from what I assume, try and make the points of focus (where you want to viewer to see the most) more vibrant in color. For shading, instead of adding more shadow, add brighter highlights. Then chose a color gradient that helps pop the main colors of your drawing!

WIP art of my new antimage character.
Before I shade it, does anyone have any tips?

Any tips to improve this art? (This is my first character art so...)

(Also, if you are on a phone, I suggest turning the brightness up, or you can't tell the hair from the background)

EDIT: wow I was bad back then

Very nice for a beginner! What I would recommend is learning and practicing facial features individually before constructing a face as a hole. You're in the beginning phases of creating your own style of art so keep it up!

On a side note also change your background color from black to another color so that people could distinguish what's the background and what's the hair

Okay, I will work on that, thanks for the advice!

This is like my first time drawing in around 3 years and my first time drawing on the computer, I decided to draw Russel from Gorillaz and I wanna start drawing more so like some feedback would be cool :) I drew it by hand firstthen scanned it and outlined and coloured it with photoshop.

I'm pleased with this work. I know the lines are messy but its more so a sketch/the style I went for. Any recommendations on adding things?

When drawing horns, do it just as you would hair. Anything detailed like hair should be given the illusion it is detailed when really, it is just a shape with detail in it. Sorry for the late reply!

because i've improved drastically (changing styles in the process), i'll post on here again. i'm not 100% confident with this style, but i'm working on it. advice?

I can see that you are a person who likes to sketch alot, which is good! I used to be in your position where it seems to be an awkward mix of styles and your not sure which one to go to. I recommend to try shading or inking, or both! A way I've used to help find my style is to simply not draw anything, but something. Just a bunch of curves and lines, and see what you can make out of it! The real effort in that, is to either make a general idea of something through such lines, or to avoid making anything to distinguishable. For this drawing specifically, everything is great, though the reason you may be not 100% confident is because again, it is only in sketch form. Try inking or shading as said before!

it's only in sketch form because it's in my sketch book and it was only a doodle, but thank you!!

I'm making an art request for CRASHIR and her Shendar seeding: Egneth. It is a work in progress, though, anyone have any recommendations? It is my first paining style sort of art.

Not enough contrast, try to use more brighter colors. Dunno how you choose your colors, but I generally try to use both ends of the RGB spectrum, the darkest darks (0 or 0%) with the brightest brights (255 or 100%). Try experimenting more and being more risky with lighting, put some pure white in the highlights and go from there.

EDIT: Head is also a bit big. Especially if you're going for that foreshortened pose.

So ive been pretty slumped lately and I feel like I need a good roast for me to change up my art.

So my friend wanted some Varran art and well, I thank Marty's drawings for giving me some inspiration on this one. How did I do? Capture.PNG
