Patronage of the Scalpel, named for the heron of nurses and physicians, is the medical wing of the newly founded Old Guard charter, serving as first aid for wounded guards and civilians alike, as well as cooperating with other law enforcement charters. Established in 308 AC by the Grand Commander William Howlester and Grand Matron Celianna Howlester, the chapter was a response to an increasing need for medical attention and to end the outsourcing of doctors for vampire curing. Currently, the Commander and Grand Matron of the Patronage of the Scalpel is Madame Celianna Howlester. Unlike the other chapters, Patronage of the Scalpel is not combative. The regiment is dedicated to the care of others, not harm, and seeing as the bulk of its members are doctors and surgeons, most operate under oath of no harm.
Battle medics would do better to seek employment under the secondary field medic branch of the Patronage of the Scalpel. This branch allows medics to take part in aiding those who are unable to reach the clinic due to more severe injuries, often first drafted as medical staff in times of war and so forth. They will also act as a liaison between charters when a medic is requested. This position is open to currently existing medics only.

By order of Grand Matron Celianna Howlester, the physicians and nurses part of the regiment must participate in rotations at the Brothers and Sisters of Compassion Orphanage and aid staff their clinic, founded by Lady Grace Genevieve Howlester. The Patronage of the Scalpel also works alongside the Honeydew Clinic and Pharmacy, as well as aiding with treating in the Newtown Clinic, allowing physicians and nurses alike to communicate and treat alongside one another; this is to ensure the public are always given the medical treatment they deserve.

The Patronage of the Scalpel is a medical/alchemical branch that acts and operates under the Old Guard Charter. It is an official medical regiment predominantly based within the Greygate clinic and infirmary, working in tandem with other branches of the charter as well as aiding in the Honeydew Clinic and Newtown clinic. The Greygate clinic is found within the citadel, positioned in front of the Guard Prison, behind the /tp Guard Prison warp.
The Patronage of the Scalpel requires all staff to wear the provided medical officer uniform when on duty and treating patients.

⚜PATRONAGE PHYSICIAN/ALCHEMIST RIGHTS⚜
The charter holds the same rights as the previous 'Victoria's Valiant' which was later refounded by the Grand Matron Celianna Howlester as the Patronage of the Scalpel after the disbandment of the Violet Order Charter.
⚕ The right to treat the general public, as well as criminals and members of law enforcement.
⚕ The right to distribute tailor-made alchemical goods for the purpose of appropriate pain management.
⚕ The right to wear a mask for sanitation and health purposes at any time. This right may also be imparted onto anyone for emergency situations where it is deemed necessary.
⚕ The right to request the absolute quarantine of a business or medical practice in the case of an emergency or hazardous conditions. (Only by order of the Grand Matron.)
