"Considered to be one of the cultural hearths of the Ailor, Etosil is a vibrant island chain full of rich history. Etosil is located to the South of the the Regalian Archipelago, as part of the Ridge Isles along with Kilarallis, Arvost, and the Sun Isles. The islands have a colorful history, as it is home to both the Etosian culture, known for its arts and debauchery, and Etosian Unionism, the second largest sect of the religion. The islands are rugged and the people even more so; a fact that is evident in the rolling pastures of the countryside. The grueling conditions have done nothing to ease the burden of the locals. Yet in the city centers, where the arts bloom like a delicate flower between the jagged rocks. Here: theatre troops, painters, and sculptors ply their crafts, creating some of the most famous pieces of art across the Empire. Etosil is also home to vast supplies of lapis lazuli, with the mines of Etosil supplying a large portion of the Azure Order's supply. This gift, however, has not come without cost, as the island is also home to one of the largest populations of undead in all the Imperial provinces. Despite all efforts made to try and curb the undead, the residents of Etosil have not been able to purify their home." -Massivecraft Wiki on Etosil
Hello! I'm Indyfan98! I haven't been on the server, or Minecraft in general for a while. However, I have returned! And I bring with me good news! I have created a map of the island of Etosil!
World Painter view:
Etosil features stunning beachside cliffs:
Vast forests:
Flowery meadows of Magebane:
Towering mountains:
Seraph ruins:
Massive (pun) caverns:
And formidable volcanos:
Etosian architecture is unlike anything seen in Regalia:
Ancient Greek and Roman inspired ships (such as uniremes and biremes):
Etosil is home to many of the greatest artists of the empire (special thanks to The Evil Sketch on YouTube):
Etosil is, as far as I understand, based off of real world Greece. As such, I have gone with a very Mediterranean vibe for the map. Etosil has many fields of flowers and plenty of lapis lazuli, making the island a dye-makers best friend!
As some of you may remember, I once tried to make a Farah'deen map. That didn't go down too well, as my computer isn't powerful enough to handle a map that large. Etosil is significantly smaller than a full continent (approximately 6000x2500 blocks).
As the title of the thread states, I'm looking for people to playtest the map and give me feedback. That's where you guys come in. I have the map up for download on Mediafire, and you are all more than welcome to give me pointers, criticism, what you'd like to see, take screenshots, etc.
Keep in mind, there is no guarantee that this map will be added to Massivecraft. In fact, it is highly unlikely that it'll ever be added. It is, however, an exercise in my World Painter skills. Hopefully, I will become good enough to become a World Staff member, and may even get to work on an official Etosil map. However, who knows. Maybe it'll become good enough to become a roleplay/quest world, or even a faction world (unlikely due to the small-ish size).
So far, this map is currently the result of a week and a half of almost non-stop work (though about a quarter of that time was spent exporting the map from World Painter to Minecraft). Many a long night was spent at my computer screen.
Special thanks to YouTuber Lord Dakr. Without his tutorials, I'd never have made this map to the quality it is. It may not be Massivecraft quality, but I think it's a darn shot better than my Farah'deen map.
So, enough blabbing. You probably want the download link, so here she is:

Large, flat areas are done on purpose, as those are where cities would go.
Enjoy, and remember to post you feedback in the thread here. Be sure to include coordinates of any problems you find that I may have missed.
