The Grand Knight

June 3rd, 307 A.C.

A set of bylaws are hereby declared as canon law within the Empire, detailing a singular position to be held and known as the The Grand Knight. The laws are as follows:

1. The acting Lord Chancellor may appoint a single person to be the Grand Knight, and may dismiss them at any time.
2. The Grand Knight is afforded the following authorities:
   1. Administration of the Knightly Order House (upon its completion), the right to house any knights seeking refuge there and subsequently evict them, and the right to delegate and hire any staff necessary to see to its upkeep and maintenance.
   2. The right to demand confirmation of a person's knightly status from their order by writ, for the purposes of verification.
   3. The right to distribute and manage any funds or goods donated to their Institution for the purposes of charitable acts.
3. The Grand Knight is given the following duties and responsibilities that must be upheld or suffer threat of dismissal:
   1. Maintaining the Order House in its cleanliness and inhabitants and seeing to it that all dwelling within are upstanding examples of knights and citizens.
   2. Keeping a running and active record of all knights within the Crown Isle, including their name and school.
   3. Organizing charitable acts and events for the Knights and Orders to partake in.
   4. Maintaining a council of all delegated 'heads' of local Order chapters, to seek counsel on all legislative matters concerning knighthood in the Empire and then report this information to the Lord Chancellor for review.

Subsequently, one Erwald Ravenstad is hereby declared the Grand Knight.

Haeddi Harhold gave a rather large cheer at hearing the news, hopping about like the twelve year old child trapped a fifteen year old she was. "Erwald is at it again! I've got to find him a gift."

Aleck's usual scowl seemed to disappear as he read the announcement. He offered a nod and a smirk. "A man fit for the job, Ravenstads are honourable by all counts."
