Alms Ministry June Report:

It is the Alms Ministry's desire to promote trust and transparency with matters concerning state funds, public donations, and community projects. Therefore, at the end of each month, a publicly available report of the ministry's doings will be available for review.
A letter from the Minister,

This month, after I and the rest of the nobility returned from the Mele Pele retreat, I was pleased to return to the Alms Sanctuary to find smoke in the chimney, fresh food in the larder, visitors in the library, and a tidy, well-kept space. I could not be more proud of those who stepped forward to tend to our good works while I was away, and it has indeed inspired me to place even more responsibilities directly into the hands of our Supervisors.

We are still seeking librarians, gardeners, and other volunteers, as well as Brute Squad members. If you feel that you or someone you know might enjoy leading a project with us, do not hesitate to seek me! I have seen brilliant ideas come form all walks of life, each with the goal of making our city an even better place to live. Through the month of July I will make it my goal to hold more open meetings, to have more free-flowing forums of ideas and projects for the city, and to see who among my fellow citizens and peerage will head our next greatest achievement.

Glory to the Empire and its People,

Her Serene Grace Sivrid Sorenvik
Arch Duchess of Irvainvik
Alms Minister
Valsung and Jovrlov of the Velheim

Fruit Picking, Jam Making - Several volunteers where gathered by Miss Imira Delaianur to harvest summer fruits from the Alms Garrison garden, which were later preserved in jars for our pantry!

Tea and Storytelling - Librarian Cazna Gahan opened the library doors and welcomed people to share stories and sip hot tea. What could be cozier?

Theological Society Meeting - In a more casual event, the Theological Society met in the dining hall this month, to discuss religious curiosities and sip mulled wine.

Barbecue! - With fresh hunts hauled in, a crackling fire roasted the beasts of game and filled the court yard with delicious smells and friendly faces, including our Brute Squad Armaments Officer, Lady Humaira Reinard.

Tour Guides - We are proud to be a signpost for newcomers to the city, and our tour guides are putting in the work. Grand Duchess Tuija Viduggla is specifically thanked for being a friendly face.

Gardening in the Garrison - Bronagh Ní Floinn could be seen in the garden, pulling weeds and pruning the vegetables among other volunteers. We commend her for this hard work, as well as those who assisted!

Sivriddles! - For those who frequented the library, new brain-teasers were added to the Arch Duchess's collection!

Firefighting - Several Cielothar were seen rushing into the Alms Garrison to borrow the firefighting equipment stored there. Once the fire was doused, the equipment was returned! We are glad to have been able to assist in the prevention of whatever calamity occurred.

Sweeping Up - Several volunteers were seen tidying up and making pleasant conversation to passers-by. Thank you to Mrs Cazna Gahan, Sir Tim Borros, and SIlver Gylphera for volunteering your time!

Check(point), please! - The Violet Order worked themselves to the bone this week, guarding the Checkpoint and being sure that not even a blood moon would leave us vulnerable to sanguine attacks. Volunteers provided and cooked dinner for the hungry guards, and delivered it to the checkpoint. Ladyship Genevieve Howlester and Lordship Ewan Howlester are commended for their work!

Interested in our current projects?

For those seeking to Volunteer, there is no application necessary. Simply engage with the Alms Ministry by showing up for day to day activities or events. (( Anyone can ping for RP in the Alms Discord - linked below))

Our ongoing projects are headed by Supervisors who bring ideas to us. The projects can have definitive goals or events, or they can be day to day activities. Supervisors should enjoy creating engaging activities for others to participate in. All are welcome to apply, with their ideas.

Currently seeking to hire:
Garden Supervisor
- to tend the garden and host day to day gardening hangouts
Librarians - to host events in the library, and open it to the public
(Please only apply if you would enjoy coming up with fun ways to get people engaged with the Alms! Events don't need to be scheduled and can be spur-of-the-moment, but should be engaging beyond emote rp and vary from day to day. Our goal is always activity!)

Have a specific project idea in mind? The Alms Minister has the right to approve construction projects, and to assemble ad hoc committees for the purpose of achieving goals within the city, and across the archipelago. Meet with Arch Duchess Sivrid Sorenvik to discuss how to implement your ideas!

Stay up to date and be aware of activities in the Alms Ministry by joining our community!
