Go for it, but you'll probably be unable to make them super malnourished and at the same time fast or strong. Maybe giving them like a tapeworm or something could help with explaining why they're always hungry, but why they choose to eat people would be a bit more difficult.

Their family was part of a cannibal society on the fringes of a nobles territory he had them wiped out he killed the noble and moved on forgetting the name and the noble was passed off as being killed by bandits? He see nothing wrong with cannibalism and just sees human meat as a resource no one likes
