Introduction

The Mercenary Officer has returned from business abroad, and announces the following regulations regarding the functions of sellsword trade to the Regalian public. All points of this declaration have been carefully considered with the opinions of prominent Regalian Mercenaries taken into account.

Mercenary Ranks Overhaul

The internal Mercenary Ranking system has been overhauled after a lengthy meeting of discussion and debate among the prominent Mercenaries of Regalia.

There now exists three Mercenary Ranks, each increasingly more prestigious than their predecessor. All Ranking promotions (as well as demotions) are made by the Mercenary Officer at the 30th of every month after a lengthy review of the performance of active Mercenaries.

• Standard Mercenary is the beginner rank of every Mercenary. This rank contains the major bulk of Mercenaries who have yet to distinguish themselves. Standard Mercenaries bear a bronze badge with a crossed swords emblem upon it to signify their sellsword status.
  
  
• High Mercenary is a rank given to Mercenaries who distinguished themselves with a high contract-completion rate and popularity among contractors. High Mercenaries bear a golden badge with a sword and shield emblem upon it to signify their higher prestige.
  
  
• Veteran Mercenary is a rank given to Mercenaries who have become masters of the sellsword trade in their own right, with exceptional competence and a powerful reputation in the City of Regalia. Veteran Mercenaries bear a Blacksteel badge with a helmet emblem upon it to signify their glory and strength.

While all Ranks are systematically aesthetic in nature, it is expected by the Mercenary Officer that High and Veteran Mercenaries will be held to a higher standard among wealthy patrons, Nobility, and frequent contractors, for their skill and valor.

As it is the 30th of November, the Mercenary Officer announces the following promotions:

• All un-mentioned Mercenaries are currently Standard Mercenary status.
• Franz Knispel (@bardnotinatavern) has been promoted to High Mercenary.
• Silver Swyftfurusat (@HuskyLeader) has been promoted to High Mercenary.
• Reynard Benac (@FolkFume) has been promoted to High Mercenary.
• Charles Verlice (@YoitsKing) has been promoted to High Mercenary.

Regarding Mercenary Companies

Regulations regarding Mercenary Companies have been overhauled. Following the pointers provided below, one may contact the Mercenary Officer for the creation of a Mercenary Company, providing a Company Name, Company Colors, and a List of Members.

• Mercenary Companies can be created with one designated leader and a minimum of five members, who must have a clean criminal record and not be afflicted with any afflictions deemed illegal by Regalian law.
• Mercenary Companies must wear identifying armor/uniform while operating, bearing the chosen colors of their Company.
• Mercenary Companies may be privately contracted by Noble Families and other wealthy entities for special operations (either in-game or via World Progressions).
• Mercenary Companies are beholden to the same laws regarding Mercenaries, and the Company Commander is responsible for the behavior and conduct of their followers.

Currently active and State-recognized Mercenary Companies are:

• Wulfstruppe, commanded by Lord Alfred Wulfmacht (@MrBlwe)
• Company of the Eclipse, commanded by Baroness Aleksandra Dragic (@Lionfiles)
• Vulpi Company, commanded by Baron Charles Verlice (@YoitsKing)

Appointments

The Mercenary Officer names Baroness Humaira di Civita (@Aurelian30k) as his first Secretary, who holds the following rights as deemed by the Lord Chancellor.

• The right to approve Mercenary Contracts for Mercenaries to fulfill.
