A Dreadful Day in Daenshore
Part 1 - "The Truth"
The crimson red sun would be creeping on the horizon, as it was slowly raising into the sky. The bright, colorful buildings of Daendroque would be littered across the rolling hills of the landscape. Ribbons and lanterns would be hung up everywhere, balloons of crimson reds, yellows, orange, and all forms of warm colors. Children would be laughing, screaming, playing, sliding and jumping across the close rooftops, chasing each other. Adults would be scolding, chatting, and cooking all kinds of delicious cuisines. The air was fresh, with the scents of food, flowers, and the open air. Daendroque of all types were celebrating Freedom Week, as a close-knit unit.Part 1 - "The Truth"
Meanwhile, an Ailor would return to the nest after her adventure of over 20 years. Her dark brown hair is covered by a crimson cloak, wearing bright colors to fit in with the others. However, she would also be fashioning the touch of the Void, two crimson eyes. Sivo Sagh would be followed by her Qadir husband, Rhys Sagh. "We're here…" She would announce to the Cratos. Rhys looked around in awe. Seeing the Festival still aloud and well. He was in utter shock. Loving the scenery. "It's beautiful…" He would mutter, his dark brown gaze studying the memorizing colors and life that surrounded them. The Von Kërle would be glancing around herself. Simply taking a deep breath of the Daendroque air that she knew and loved. "It's honestly good to be home." She would look back to the Qadir, reaching over to grab hold of his hand. "And it's even better to have you here with me. Thank you. The house was this way..." Sivo would then turn to point in a direction of a set of alleyways, with ribbons and such of many colors hanging over the alleys across buildings.
Rhys followed with curiosity. Glancing about with a hint of paranoia in his eyes. A Courier bird fluttering over to him with a letter. The Daendroque's eyes were darting around as she recognised the pathway she led Rhys through before her eyes caught the bird, narrowing her eyes on it as it flew towards them with a letter. "Dammit... We just got here and already, they are bothering us. How much do you want to bet Lock burnt down the base?" Rhys would be scanning the letter before saying: "No- It's not Lock.. It's Anya. Apparently she's apologizing on Mirabella's behalf for Pulling out of The Raid. And that they were going to have us do the same. Apparently The Kathar are up to something.. Hm.. I'll pen her a letter when we get there." Sivo would pause for a moment in thought, "... What are the Kathar- you know what, nevermind. We'll worry about this later. First order of business is not getting jumped." Sivo would glance around before continuing down the pathways in between the busy buildings with yelling children and yapping adults, mixed in with their animals... Which were no quieter.
"Do we really have to worry about that here?" Rhys asked.
"We really do. As much as I love Daendroque, it is also the pothole of crime." Sivo responded.
"Aren't we also like- The Embodiment of Crime itself?"
"Yes... But don't underestimate the civilians here. The law enforcement is just as corrupt as the civilians themselves. If you're not from here, and you get jumped, it's your fault in their eyes."
"I'd be surprised if the people who would try to jump me would even be alive with you around."
"No offense, but you kind of look like an easy target." She'd chuckle. "But don't worry, I have your back as long as you have mine. Anyways..."
She'd stop, holding her arm in front of her husband as to stop him. "We're here... I think." Sivo would say, looking around at a farmhouse that certainly... Wasn't burnt down, at least not anymore. However no one seemed to be inside. Outside were a couple of shrines of some form, pictures on stones with candles and flowers surrounding them. Oh boy... However, the farm still seemed maintained. The wheat fields were managed and the horses still roamed about in their enclosed space. One horse in particular looked black, flaked with grey and white fur, it looked rather old. Rhys would stop in front of her arm, looking around himself. "It... It isn't burned down.." He said, "I think they really are alive-"
Sivo would point at the shrines. "Doubt it. Let's go take a look." She'd continue forwards, as to open the gate and step inside the territory of her old farm. Rhys followed suit, his Sariyd Attendant humming on his back. The Musaeed staying afar at The entrance where Rhys would've left it. The Ailor stopped in front of the shrines, her eyes trailed towards the first one. It was her fathers' pictures, painted with a Daendroque flair to them. Sivo would point towards it. "That's my father, and that should be-" She'd glance over towards the other shrine. "My mother-..." She'd study it to find it had an absolute replica of what she looked like, pre-vampirism. Dark green eyes, dark brown hair tied back, it was painted as well. "The fuck- that's... Me. That's actually kind of terrifying."
As they were both distracted, a strange man ended up jumping forwards to tackle Sivo to the ground, using stealth to his advantage. Sivo would let out a yelp of surprise as she was tackled, a short sword put to her throat as soon as she hit the ground. Rhys's eyes widened as he'd swing the Sariyd attendant in the man's way. The man was knocked off Sivo and Sivo would slide backwards towards Rhys, aiming to get back to her feet. The man slid to get back up to his feet, the blade of his short sword pointed towards them. His features were much like Sivo's, although with dark brown eyes. He looked about 20, pretty young. He'd narrow his eyes at the two. "Fucking Thieves!" He spat in the Daendroquin tongue. "Who steals from the dead?! What the fuck is wrong with you two?"
Sivo would blink towards him, speaking in the tongue as well, "We're not... Stealing anything. I... I came here a long time ago." She'd mutter to Rhys, translating the language he did not understand. "He's calling us thieves." Rhys would mutter back, "I mean- He's not wrong- but also that hurts." The Von Kërle would get back up to her feet, standing next to Rhys. She'd sheathe her own short sword. "Who are you?" She demanded, in common. The man would keep his blade held out. "I should be asking the questions here! Who are /you/?!" He'd say in a thick Daendroque accent. Rhys would speak up, "We're looking for her parents. This was her home long ago." Rhys waved his hand in the direction of Sivo's Shrine.
The strange Daendroque man would narrow his eyes on Sivo, studying her and glancing back at the shrine, and at her. "... The fuck?... Sivo?" Sivo would nod her head, keeping her sword out in a defensive position in front of the Qadir. "That's the name. Who are you?" He would blink, confused as he squinted his eyes at her own. "Your eyes... Are you afflicted? A leech??" Rhys bit his tongue, trying not to take offense to his term of Sanguine. While he didn't look to be a Sanguine, he did have a resting tired expression on himself. Sivo, however, was very obviously a child of the Void, with her crimson eyes and sharpened fangs, it was hard to miss. Sivo would quickly respond, mostly out of instinct, "I'm a brood- oh fuck-" Sivo would facepalm. "It doesn't matter. Answer my question first!"
The strange man would glance between the two before focusing back on Sivo. "A brood?... Are you fucking stupid or slow? I'm Diego Driss, but I'm not going to have a leech anywhere near Ma." Rhys would whisper to Sivo, ".... Can I kill him- Please can I kill him..." Sivo would chuckle, shaking her head. She'd whisper back. "No." Diego would narrow his eyes, taking a step forward as he locked eyes onto the Qadir, speaking yet again in the Daendroquin language, "This is between us, Machine-man!" He'd hiss before looking back to Sivo. "You would disappoint father, becoming one of those Void tainted /things/!" Rhys would blink, confused as the tongue he didn't understand was spat towards him once more, ".... What did you just call me? I don't speak Daenish…" Sivo would shake his head at Diego, slightly moving Rhys behind her. "He's my husband. He is involved with anything I'm involved with." She'd say before glancing over towards the barn house. "Now if you'll excuse us, I'm going to say hello to my mother."
Diego would take another step forwards, slamming his sword towards Sivo. She would parry it with her own sword. He'd say: "Of course you would marry a Machine-Man... A Qadir. And to think I'm related to you!" Sivo would narrow her crimson eyes onto him before pushing him back forcibly with her sword, moving her sword around to his neck, saying: "Don't you fucking insult him! I won't hesitate to cut your throat." Rhys sighed. Glowing a white hue as the rolling sounds of the Musaeed would begin to be heard… Diego was simply staring at the blade of her sword, his brown eyes ripe with anger before he heard the rolling sounds. His eyes would widen in fear. "What the fuck is that?!" And as a saving grace, a third Daendroque would walk on over to the trio. She would be an older lady, with white hair and wrinkled skin. However she looked a lot like Sivo, like almost a direct copy of Sivo but with dark brown eyes. She'd speak softly, her voice shaking slightly. "What in the world is going on here?"
Sivo would immediately lose focus on Diego, her head darting to look at the old lady. She'd take a quick breath, her sword lowering. "..." Diego took the moment of distraction to kick her sword out of the way, sliding backwards to stand up. "Ma- it's not who you think it is-" The old lady, María Driss would hold up a hand. "A mother never forgets..." She'd say, taking a step towards Sivo, her eyes tearing up. "Sivo?... Sivo Driss?" The bot finally arrived, giving a "Wrr" as it stood next to its creator. Sivo would drop her sword- unintentionally, the clank echoing against the ground as she approached her mother. As soon as she reached her, she would put her arms around the old lady. Her mother put her arms back around Sivo, a tear rolling out of her eye. "I don't know how you are here... But I'm overjoyed you're alive. Thank you, thank you for being okay." She'd mutter to Sivo in Daendroquin.
Sivo would mutter back in Daendroquin, "What happened to Pa?" María would let go of Sivo as to meet eyes with each other. "Before the fire… He was murdered by a member of the Diablos, he fought as hard and as long as he could. Afterwards, they set the house on fire to prove a point. What happened to you?" Sivo would lower her gaze in shame. "I ran away… I saw the house aflame and thought both of you were dead. I'm so sorry… I had nothing else to turn to, and so a group of Sanguine saved my life and took me into their coven. Later, I met and married Rhys, he's the love of my life and I wouldn't change anything I have done, besides maybe saving Pa." María took a moment to take this in, nodding her head. "I understand-" They were interrupted by a shouting Diego as he was talking to Rhys, "Are you a Sanguine or not?!" Sivo would glance over at them to approach. Rhys would say simply, "No. No I am not." He would then turn his back to Diego to move over to Sivo and María.
María would pass by Sivo to walk over to Diego, smacking him on the back of the head. "You treat your sister with respect!" She would scold. Sivo had a smug look on her face as she scolded him. The old lady would turn back to face Sivo and Rhys once more, approaching Rhys rather quickly. "This must be the husband!" She would put her arms around the Qadir to embrace him in a hug, a joyful smile on her face. "You're so /adorable/!" She would whisper into his ear, "You make sure Sivo stays out of trouble, she can be a handful." The Qadir had not expected any of this as a reaction, his cheeks forming a pink hue, "Wh- Ah- I'll do my best!" As soon as he answered, María would let go of him, grabbing him by the sides of his shoulders as she inspected him, she'd say in the Daendroque tongue, "Why, isn't he a handsome young man?" Rhys would just be currently tongue tied, unsure of what to say. María would laugh, tapping him on the cheek before letting go of him.
"Come along, don't diddle dally around all day, I have Sótano Soup waiting inside!" She would shuffle along towards the house, Diego followed her, saying nothing to the couple. Rhys, Sivo, and Barik exchanged glances before Sivo shrugged, following the two into the house. Rhys and Barik followed behind the Ailor. Maria would be preparing soup in the kitchen, Barik moved off to help her with a happy 'wrr'. Sivo, meanwhile, would drag Rhys off towards the dining area. Diego was sitting at the table, leaning back in the chair with his feet resting on the table. As soon as she entered the room, he'd slide his feet off the table with a scoff as he looked towards Rhys. The man spoke. "You know she's not 20, right? She's about 40 years old, she's been missing for 20 years. I hope you know that... She's much older than you. Disgusting." He'd huff, crossing his arms again. Rhys would respond, "And? I may look awful younger but I'm willing to bet I've seen a lot more than you have." To which, Diego slammed his hands on the table, ""Maybe... If you're a /sanguine/!" Rhys calmly replied, "How would I be a Sanguine? You would think that because Sivo is one, that she'd infect me, yes?" He would walk over to take a seat at the table. Diego would nod his head. "That's how those disgusting leeches work. They're pests." Diego would grumble.
"Then..." Rhys got close to him. Eye to eye with a few inches from their face, "Does this... Look like a Leech to you? Do my eyes speak of such 'Pests'?" His dark brown eyes didn't show a flicker of red. Diego would give a disgusted look, shoving Rhys away from him. "Get away from me! Not all bloodsuckers have the red eyes." Sivo would rush up to her feet, "Don't touch him or I'll break both of your arms!" She'd threaten. Rhys would raise a hand, as to signify he was okay, "Mm... I pity you. You remind me of the Unionists in Regalia." He'd grumble. Diego would spit in his direction, to which Rhys simply giggled at, speaking towards Sivo in Faraddi, "I hear one word when I see him. Spoiled. Your mother is too good for him." Diego would raise an eyebrow, crossing his arms again, "Oh now he's talking in his primitive demon language..." Finally at her last straw of patience, the angered Von Kërle would move over to stand in between the two, grabbing Diego by the collar of his shirt and lifting him up. "I will put you in your place, shut the FUCK up if you know what's best for you!" She'd shout into his face. María would hear this, quickly putting the soup down to shuffle in the room. Rhys would say: "No no, don't do anything to him please Sivo. He just is absent minded. He does not know anything about The Qadir. Do not worry." Maria would put her hands on her hips, looking upon the siblings fighting. "Sivo Analia Driss!! Put Diego down, now! And watch your tongue!" She'd scold.
Sivo- upon both of her loved ones telling her to stop, she'd drop Diego, her crimson eyes piercing into his skin in anger. "Sorry-... Sorry." Diego would be dropped to the ground, falling to his knees as he coughed, catching his breath. He'd grab onto Sivo's ankle, aiming to pull her off her feet while she was distracted. Rhys swung his Attendant to Diego. Bouncing him away the moment he lunged, yet again. Diego was flung and María would put her hands on her hips in disappointment. "Stop this now! There will be no fighting under my roof!" Sivo would back up slightly as he lunged and Rhys knocked him back. She'd bump into Rhys slightly as she backed up in surprise. Rhys lowered his head in response, "Only defending Ma'am. He was aiming to strike Sivo while she was distracted." Diego would get back up to his feet before scoffing, turning to leave. "I don't want any soup! I'm going out!" María would follow him. "No you aren't, young man! You are going to make up with your sister!" As she approached him, Diego would stomp his foot angrily, clenching his fists up in rage, "Leave me ALONE, you clingy old prune!!" He'd shout. Maria would be taken aback by Diego's sudden display of disrespect towards her. This would be Sivo's final straw with him, as he bluntly disrespected her mother. She'd lunge at him to tackle him to the ground. The Von Kerle would pin him by her legs, throwing a strong punch to his face.
