  • Mechanics: Ailor are masters of languages, which is expected given their habit to culturally divides. Because so many of their languages are inter-connected, various words become more obviously related, and they also take more effort to learn other languages. If someone insults an Ailor, even in a language they do not speak, the Ailor would know, as they know most curse words or words by which to speak ill of others in all languages.
  • Ailor are the masters of the Regalian Empire, and while it has equality between all peoples and heritages, Ailor are just by virtue of being Ailor considered preferential for most government positions and judicial situations. Where possible to do with the Nobility, with Government, or with Palace decisions, Ailor will be treated preferentially over other peoples, even if their qualifications might be lesser than the other options.
  • Ailor make for excellent negotiators. Ailor gain +2 on top of every Persuasion Dice roll result, and their Persuasion Cap is also increased by +2 for every Dice Roll. These effects only apply to non-Afflicted, non-Mystech individuals, as their speech and habits are entirely fine-tuned to the more mundane aspects of global society, they must venture beyond their comfort zone to be able to reach Magic things.
  • Ailor whether by divine intervention or by sheer dump cosmic luck, always somehow end up on the right side of history. Ailor Characters when participating in Events, may sometimes stumble into an extreme luck roll that drops an additional loot item for one of the participants. This loot can be physical items, or intangible things like Divinium or an Artifactspark. Chances are higher for non-Magic using Ailor than Magic using Ailor.
  • Languages: Common, Velheim, D'Ithanie, Hellas, basic Droque, basic Anglisch. Speaks a lot of languages thanks to his time in the underworlds of Ithania and Regalia, as well as Ailor's natural inclination towards language.
Backstory/Plothooks

My character was born as an only child on March 4th to his father, an Ithanian alchemist, Louis, and his mother, an Ithanian peasant named Marie. His father was killed at a young age as he owed debt to a loan shark, but didn't pay up one month. After that, he was stabbed with a dagger in a back alley on his way home from his shop, he later died from his injuries. After he died, his mother and him fled to a village where he'd be raised. At the age of 15, his mother revealed his father's death to him. He didn't feel much because he barely remembered his father. However, his mother gave him books left behind by his father to teach him alchemy. He'd learn from these and study from the local alchemist, Marc. As far as he knows, he has two cousins. However, he doesn't know their identities as his mother and aunt became estranged before his birth, and he never met them. When he turned 17, his mother died suddenly of a strange disease. He then turned to the streets and mugged people for money. He eventually heard of the criminal world in Regalia and the potential for money there. He decided to go to Regalia then and there, he packed a few possessions; a dagger that was a heirloom in his mother's family, and some steel toe boots that were a little big on him but mattered a great deal to him, as they were his father's and he'd grown to have an adoration for as he learned from his books.

During the vampire occupation, Jonathan became infected. He became more violent than normal, and had an uptick in his tendency for crime. Eventually, he got cured with the help of some friends that he made during the occupation. He had intended to clean up his act, but ultimately failed - finding it too hard to adjust to being a normal person again to cold turkey any crime he did. He received a letter from Marc shortly after the occupation ended, asking him to help him with smuggling, bounty hunting, and other crimes. He decided to go back to Ithania for a few years, where he was able to gain a fair bit of coin. However, eventually he grew tired of Ithania once more and returned to Regalia. He ran back into Ana Cervantez, a old friend from the vampire occupation who he's currently rooming with in the Crookback. He's currently trying to find his place in Regalia once again, and is sort of floating around, looking for something to anchor himself to within the city.
