The Imperial Court is representative of nobility, and its highest forms - we are not only tasked with administering duty, but with bringing forward our respective cultures into the modern day and age.

It is in this spirit that the Mistress of Conduces announces a new form of Hotiers, doing away with stifling this-or-that in fashion. Instead, I declare liberté and the freedom to choose. No longer will there be unilateral written guides, long-winded affairs spanning pages upon pages, or decisive this-or-that rulings with no room to breathe.

I simply ask for a keen eye set upon the thriving trends of the nobility at large, and an appreciation of this fine art celebrated the world over. There will be competitive rankings of who is and who isn't fashionable, with those at the top winning boons and bonuses and those at the bottom … well.

It is my earnest hope that the Peerage at large enjoys this new rendition of Hotiers, and the freedom of dress this summer promises.

  • On applicability,
    • It is important to note that all of these limits and restrictions are overridden by either Beach Code, which will have its own set of rules and regulations during those specific instances where it applies, or Imperial Code, which applies solely in Imperial areas such as the Palace or Assembly Hall. In the absence of either, however, Summer Hotiers applies. Particular events may require certain things, such as gloves or more coverage, so keep an eye on event announcements to see what standards are in place.
  • On skin,
    • No skin may be shown above the thigh. Preferably, only half of a calf should be shown, if any should be shown at all.
      • OOC: The bottom 8 pixels of a leg portion of your skin are allowable, but preferably, only the bottom 4.
    • No skin may be shown below halfway down the sternum. Preferably, a neckline should stop at the beginning of the bust for a woman.
      • OOC: 5 pixels down from the top is the absolute limit of how low a neckline can go.
    • No bare skin may ever be shown between the halfway point of the sternum and the knee.
    • Shoulders may be shown freely.
    • Arms may be shown freely, except at formal events that demand coverage.
    • Hands may be shown freely, except at formal events that demand coverage.
  • On furs,
    • It is summer. Regalia is hot. Furs should not be worn, except during full ceremonial dress during specific ceremonies, Assemblies, or other important moments.
      • If it is absolutely necessary to wear fur, speak to the Mistress of Conduces for a 'clear', where fans will also be provided to the requesting noble at no cost in the interest of preventing heatstroke.
      • Anyone insisting on wearing furs must wear perfume. A lovely source for perfume is miss Safrina Vermillie, who works at the Golden Obscura.
  • On metals,
    • Metals must always match in an outfit. Gold, silver, bronze, Lacquoria, Ephamaria, or any other accent metal used must be uniform and cohesive throughout. There are no limits on what metals may be used, only that all the metals must match.
    • Important items like wedding rings, signet rings, and other jewelry of high personal sentimental value are exempted from this rule.
• 《 ᴛʜᴇ ᴠᴏɢᴜᴇ ᴄᴏᴍᴘᴇᴛɪᴛɪᴏɴ 》
  • The title of Regalia's most fashionable, the Vogue, is won by the noble recognized to be the most 'in fashion'. Trendsetters, innovators, and visionaries will compete simply by virtue of participating in the summer fashion season.
    • Holders of the Vogue title receive Conduces benefits in the upcoming ranking system, much the same as other awards being given from the Conduces position.
    • Fashionable behavior goes hand in hand with fashionable recognition. Anyone who has more than a certain number of violations, or falling under a certain level in regards to Conduces rankings once published, will be automatically disqualified from winning the Vogue title. They will still be listed in Vogue rankings.
    • Additional awards relating to the Vogue title will be given as the season goes on to high rankers, to be decided based on the noble and their particular style.

  • In conjunction with the Imperial Court's Celebrations, the Summer Haze Fashion Showcase will be held to display all manner of tailors and their own takes on summer styles.
    • Every ensemble that comes down the runway will be personally approved by the Mistress of Conduces, for those who worry if their clothes do not fit - all ensembles coming down the runway will be available for bidding and auction, with more details released during the event announcement. Simply purchase one of these outfits on display, or model your own efforts after those you see walking down the way!
    • Headliner tailors will be unveiled at the same time as the event's announcement, where details such as when and where will be released.
      • OOC: DM me if you're a skinner who wants in! I want to make this open to skinners of all types, so slide into my DMs and we'll find a way to slot you in. Discord works just fine since there aren't a ton of skinners in the community. Please indicate if you're only taking OOC currency (USD, Euros, etc.) or if you'd take IC forms of payment (finance tokens, favors, etc.) so we can make summer accessible to everyone!
    • Interested models should write the Mistress of Conduces.
      • OOC: This one needs to happen over Forum DMs so I don't lose track of who's interested in modeling! Just a quick little letter is fine.
  • Next Codes and Announcements, in order of priority:
    • Beach Code.
    • Conduces Courtly Rankings.
      • These will occur regularly. After two weeks from the publishing of Summer Hotiers, Vogue Rankings will come packaged with Courtly Rankings as two halves of a whole.
    • Imperial Code.
    • Promenade Code.
