Hunting, the noble man’s sport, is one of our very best Heritages from our earlier days, earlier generations. It is to that legacy that we pledge our hunts to be fruitful, to be fantastical, and set out upon those familiar trails in search of new memories with stories to tell, in order to preserve our tradition.

The Master of Prowess, his High Grace Cillian Loughdonairt, joins me in co-penning this core set of rules by which to enjoy that pastime most noble indeed.

    Enjoy the hunt, my Peers.

    〚 ◈┇ ══════ - ‹ •◦ ◦• › - ══════ ┇◈ 〛
    • ʜᴏᴛɪᴇʀs
      • Dress must be sensible for the hunting trail.
        • No dresses that pass the knee, though preferably no dresses at all. Skirts must be gathered to the knee, with a set of loose pants underneath, tucked into boots.
        • No skin may be shown underneath the decolletage, all the way down bar arms and hands.
        • Formal wear is forbidden. A noble may be ‘dressed up’ compared to their peers, but may not under any account come in items such as the tuxedo or the suit or other wear that better suits a ballroom floor.
        • Boots, or boot-adjacent shoes, are the only sort permitted. Heeled boots must not be able to be stuck in mud or otherwise broken on-trail. The Master or Mistress of Prowess hosting the hunt is the final call on what boots may pass and will provide a fitting pair if none do.
        • Encouraged wear, though not necessarily required and is simply provided as a general guideline:
          • A coat that goes no further than two inches from the back of the knees.
          • A long-sleeved shirt underneath the coat.
          • A pair of long trousers.
          • A pair of boots, preferably knee-high.
          • A pair of thick socks good for walking.
        • Shoes must be closed-toe. Shoes must always be worn on a hunt unless one is an Url - though preferably in some sort of fashion even then.
    • ᴇᴛɪᴏ̨ᴜᴇᴛᴛᴇ
      • On etiquette,
        • Nobles may never hunt game that is:
          • Obviously injured
          • Protected by legal ordinances
          • Young
          • Any within the vicinity of its young
            • To hunt game that is any of these things is to disrespect the noble art of hunting, which is a competition between oneself and the game.
        • Nobles may never remove anything, living or dead, from the Imperial Lodge or other Imperial Grounds.
          • Everything belongs to His Imperial Holiness the Emperor and is tended by Imperial Groundskeepers.
        • A noble must always use a proper hunting weapon, like a bow or spear or another implement that can ensure a quick death. The Master or Mistress of Prowess hosting the hunt is the final call on what may pass and will provide a fitting weapon if none do.
        • The game may not be tortured or knowingly made to suffer. Deaths should always be quick and painless where possible, to honor the animal as it does the nobility.
      • On servants and commoners,
        • Commoners are not permitted to engage in Imperial Hunts. His Imperial Holiness the Emperor grants the peerage to hunt His game by virtue of His generosity, which is only extended to the nobility.
        • Commoners may seek employment as hunt-caddies.
          • Duties include carrying the weapons of the Peerage and moving the hunted game from the trail to one of the Lodge’s campsites.
        • Commoners may visit the Imperial Lodge as a plus-one of a noble as either a servant or a companion, though must remain in close proximity to their noble at all times.
          • Even when attending as a plus-one, the commoner themselves may not hunt.
          • No matter what a commoner attends as, they are considered as ‘servants’ for the purposes of applying the Service Code.
