I completely agree! I know that you aren't currently able to do much with mc, however, you can still rp as a character without having it approved, just to do some character research. It really helps in what's the most fun to play and what you like the most. My group should be able to accommodate almost all types of characters once it's up and running. Just search around the forums, and you should be able to find a group that you like!

I was intimidated by the same thing many moons ago. Honestly it's not as complicated as it seems, though as a player the hardest part is making your character in the first place. If you've got a friend to help though it's not as difficult, and once you've got that sorted the game is actually pretty simple. If you like roleplay, it's almost a given that you'll love D&D.
