A family of the North, House Viduggla has stood for decades as an important player in Drixagh politics. While once quiet and isolated, this came to an end as the third century began, as its members began playing a far more active role in the Regalian Military and politics within the capital. Today, while no longer as tied into the Military, they retain their significance in other ways, and are now one of the final great houses of the North, the rest worn down by time and conflict. In the modern age, House Viduggla is a family that acts not by greed, but by what would honor their ancestors, and earn them Soldi for a better life beyond this one.

The story of the Owl Devotee is told as a tall tale of a man who single-handedly dedicated his
life to defend the North’s people and its lands.

House Viduggla has a long history, at least according to their self-preserved tales. The first proper Vidugglas appear in wider, confirmed records around 90 AC, The Viduggla were not members of the Skagger Horde, but instead served the Regalian Empire against the Horde, claiming vendetta rights and fair Soldi. Regardless of why they went to battle, they engaged in military action against the Horde in the western lands of Drixagh, originally landing and taking various islands and coastal regions from their control. For this act, they were ennobled shortly before 180 AC, and took both island territory and a piece of the mainland they called Norrland. However, with time and shifts of power, they lost control of Norrland, though kept part of their island claims.

They also soon became engaged in the Regalian Military, and contributed to the Empire as needed. During the Chrysant War, its matriarch and patriarch died during an attack behind the front line, with their son taking over and ruling for a brief time. But, as the 300s AC began, successive world-shattering changes came one after another. Leugel Viduggla passed away in 304 AC, being replaced by his son Ardige, only to have his nephew Garth be elected into the position above him a few years later by Regalian Nobles at a peace conference to fix noble affairs in the north. Garth Viduggla saw the family through their rebellion against the State, and later conflict with the Sorenviks.

Entering the year of 309 AC, the distant Sendrassian War taxed the Empire like no recent conflict has, while affairs in the North remained quiet following the mandatory Iron Peace. Midway through this year, in early August, a separation of the House took place. In 310 AC, large shifts in the north took place that House Viduggla could only adapt to. Today, House Viduggla is found in Viksalbard, led by Ardige Viduggla into yet another new chapter since the dawn of the third century.

The lands of the House Viduggla are wild and appeal only to those
    who can handle winter’s bite.

The Viduggla Family has long held land in Drixagh, but over time, their territory has shifted and retracted. They have long drawn their financial strengths from maritime commerce and from harvesting the fruit of the sea, both for sale to the Regalian Military and public. Their family's company and brand, Konge Conserves, has a focus on modern equipment and processing, granting them a consistent stream of funds. Below is a listing of their more noted properties.

    ⊁ Storvolden |
The Hold to shield from those the storms of the nearby sea, this Viduggla structure is built in their territory and currently serves as their home. It has thick stone walls and small windows but also fine wooden features both outside on the roof and inside in the main eating hall. The original structure once belonged to Skaggers, however when they retreated from Drixagh to Nordskag, the left the building a ruin until the Viduggla arrived later on. Near the old structure in a nearby hill is the Viduggla Helbolwen, which stores the rulers and family of the past, in addition to those people of the nearby town and surrounding rugged terrain.

    ⊁ The Iron Talon |
The family-owned personal vessel often used for their limited trading and travels. An older ship birthed from the small explosion of wealth brought by an copper boom of past decades, it could be most comparable to a Girobaldin Fregat concerning size, but it lacks the weapons of such a ship.

Withstanding the tides of time, House Viduggla has pledged their blades
in the name of the North for all their existence.

The Vidugglas commonly have brown hair, alongside earthen eyes of brown or green and strong noses. Their skin tone is usually a pale Ailor tone given their existence in the north and as nobles, often lacking the same time in the sun (such as it is in the north) as others might. Additionally, the Vidugglas tend to be on the taller side, and also commonly have a good physical build given a dedication to physical activity.

As for their mentality, the Vidugglas hold the same values as other Velheim, given their dedication to beliefs of honor, and in the Old Gods. Concepts of respecting Fair Soldi are commonly accepted in the House, along with devotion to the Old Gods. While not to the extent of commonly becoming Skorda or Sammun, most of the family undertakes a Rite of Passage. Additionally, they hold honesty in high regard, and believe in truth over lies. The House also teaches the art of selective silence as part of this, to avoid lying, but also to wait patiently. Finally, the House deeply relies on family and respect for senior members of society, as governing principles of how they operate.

I thank you for your application, but House Viduggla is an Ailor noble house, and I cannot accept your application using an Altalar character. You also directly state you might not want to join the family, so, somewhat contradictory intents expressed here. There is an Altalar noble house, House Minarith, so you are better to apply there if you want to work an Altalar character into a noble family.

Alternatively, if you want to create a new character for this House, an Ailor, you are free to contact me in a private message to discuss such a prospect.
