History
House Vatoris has its roots in the early years of The Blossoming period, in the year of 812 BC. The family was funded by the first known Vatoris, Rolar Vatoris; a carpenter of great talent who had inherited a fortune from his great grandfather. He took up the name Vatoris after he had a financial falling out with his younger brother over who deserved the rights to the family fortune, ending with Rolar murdering his younger brother and claiming the fortune as his. Rolar used the fortune to build up a sizable business for himself, whilst also ensuring his children were well educated. He pushed his two sons into intellectual pursuits whilst his only daughter was sent off to receive a proper Allorn martial education, beginning a longstanding Vatoris tradition of females of the house being the martially inclined that would not be broken until the post-cataclysm era.
The House evolved alongside the Allorn empire, learning how to navigate an increasingly complicated political system. The House was stable up to the year of 543 AC, when Rolar passed on, aged 378. The strife between who would lead the house went on for nearly ten years, with seemingly no resolution. The two sons, Aegil and Cyrlen were in hot debate over who deserved the rights; their strife came to an end when the sister, Varanni, usurped control utilizing her close ties to the military and her martially trained sons and daughters. She killed Aegil, and made Cyrlen yield. She established her line as the dominant one, leaving Cyrlens offspring as the secondary line.
She ruled the House into a prosperous age, their economy became stable through her and her children's various enterprises, most notably the Vatoris' Traditional Elven Smithing Company run by her eldest son Cacen. When she passed in the year of 314 AC, he was the one who took over the mantle of leading the House. His business-savvy and economic skill helped keep the House safe even through the strife of The Mage wars of the Allorn Empires, their smithy and food production companies bringing them a tremendous amount of profit through their sale to the principalities. Cacens rule lasted up until the final years before the Cataclysm, where he eventually passed the mantle on to his youngest son Elras.
Elras' rule was rocky, he had to steer the family through the cataclysm, and the wildering period that shattered his beloved empire completely. About two thirds of the family line was extinguished during this period, slaughtered in the Cataclysm, or as a result of the rapid floral expansion during the Wildering. Elras was left to pick up the pieces, and help rebuild his family. The family lived within the Ithanian states for a while, until finally moving to the Altalar city of Gaelro-Cael in Daendroq, where they would remain and build up. They were based in Ithania until the family was moved off to Regalia in the year of 306 AC by Elras' son Hercan.
Physical traits
- Males: The males of House Vatoris are all, much like their female counterparts, universally attractive. They have sharp and defined features, complete with defined jawlines, surprisingly thick noses by Altalar standards and rather bushy brows, which they often extencuate with makeup.
- Females: The females are dainter, with softer and more rounded features. They too tend to have rather sharp jawlines and defined brows though. Much like their male counterparts, female members of House Vatoris are all attractive.
