Family History
The noble house Mac Conall has a history steeped in military tradition and pragmatic business practices that has lead to their eventual accession to the peerage of the empire. The family began in the heart of the Gallovian Highlands, the family originated from a minor family of enterprising merchants who owned a small forestry business. The family would through wise investment continue to rise and gained the foundations of its Military traditions. During the Velheim invasions and incursions to the Highlands many a Mac Conall warrior would help to fight the northerners off and drive them back.
Through these actions one member the original Alastair Mac Conall would gain distinction and be awarded for his honorable service as a battlefield commander and a warrior with a large plot of land in the newly establish colony of Clannadh-Alba. This Alastair would move his family to this new land but not before he set off as a traveler. The man gained an appreciation for many of the old peoples of the archipelago and beyond including travelling to the emeralds islands of Eiru-Innis. The Family would settle in Clannadh-Alba and continue to expand their logging business until they were the premier logging company in the lower Highlands.
With this move and the closer binding to the Imperial Heartlands the Mac Conalls would take up a tradition of sending their second sons to serve in the Regalian military. Originally this consisted of sending second sons for training and then to have them set out as mercenaries however with the establishment of the tenpenny doctrine this would evolve into sending second sons to the Tenpenny's.
The second Alastair Mac Conall would bring further glory to the family as he himself would see the family expand its lands properties and business ventures. This Alastair II would see the Mac Conall Carpenters and Shipyards established to further take a hold on the wood industry of Clannadh-Alba. Moving the family to an estate in Dundarne the family would continue to prosper now being recognized only within the highlands themselves as minor aristocracy. This would also lead to a trickle of Ériunin influence into the family as Alastair II would uphold the tradition of Alastair's travelling as he himself travelled too the Isles of Eiru-Innis and began to revere the people despite their strange faith. He would learn the language and return home with it to his family.
The family would continue to climb building their fortunes and resting upon their laurels with the next notable addition to the family coming when Arden Mac Conall married an Ériunin woman by the name of Saoirse. The two would build a happy life together which was laced with ambition. Arden and Saoirse wanted to rise even higher, not content being just aristocrats in the highlands they wished to be recognized by the empire as a whole. As such they would send their first born son Eddair Mac Conall to the school of Marshalry in Regalia to train him to become a general. At the same time they ensured the boy was educated to a great extent teaching him of politics and economics before they sent him off. Once Eddair was gone they focused their attention upon his siblings training both to be business and politically minded in order to assist their brother.
Eddair despite lacking the name Alastair would bring the family to greater heights still. The man would graduate with top honors from the school of Marshalry and go on to become an officer in the Regalian Military. Eddair would serve in numerous wars before he took a break and temporarily retired to the land of Kintyr to spend time with his Anglian wife and children. He and his wife Edina who was herself a minor aristocrat from the Veer would finish their children's education in the land of the Breizh ensuring them taken care of. Before long however Eddair would return to Regalia to serve in wars such as the war of the fox and the hound as well as the week long Northern War.
When he returned to Regalia Eddair would join the Imperial Marshal cabinet and set to work with a fervor. He began working hard everyday with the assistance of his two first born sons. While Sebastian had been in Regalia studying for quite some time his firstborn Alastair had continued the family tradition of Alastair's. Having set out under a hedge knight friend of Eddairs Alastair had travelled Aloria with his mentor learning much before returning to Regalia. While there the three's work would come to fruition as the family was risen to Imperial Aristocracy.
Continuing along Eddair would go on to be one of the key Field Generals involved in the ongoing war in Hadar against the Sendrassian Allar. During this time he would also found the Regalian Veterans society. After continual work and achievement the family would finally reach a pinnacle as the emperor raised the family to the peerage of the realm. Granting them lands and titles on the Island of Halvonth the family would quickly move their enterprises and homes to there in order to escape the Url who had taken over and began to destroy Clannadh-Alba. Eddair himself and his sons would swear vengeance as they took to their new roles with vigor, looking to continue their meteoric rise.
