Following on from the Archipelago flashpoints, these Government flashpoints are designed to give the Government Secretariat, Nobility, the Synod and the WIS Groups additional events to react to that arise from political and legislative turmoil. There will be no OOC explanation of what they mean, examples of how to respond to such events can be seen here. Unlike the Flashpoints of the Archipelago, these flashpoints will only arise in response to new legislative and political developments, or the inaction of certain State bodies or Noble families.
It is important to remember before reading the prompts, that each nation is a sovereign entity. While civilian personnel can move freely between the archipelago nations, some nations are more closed than others with identity checks, and generally speaking moving armed persons into another nation unless on clandestine missions is sure to cause a diplomatic feud. Fully armed soldiers are generally denied access to other nations, and seen as a declaration of war.
In response to the Lord Chancellor's recent actions...
While some mocked the Lord Chancellor's recent reforms, others found them not so humorous. All across the Empire, the heads of various small noble families were finding themselves incarcerated under the Chancellor's new anti-subterfuge laws, including some who were Peirgarten barons and loyalists themselves. The result of these imprisonments were simple and small riots which plagued various small villages and baronial towns in Lorhauser organised by the families of these imprisoned nobles. The Justicars in the Realm have also remained decidedly quiet on the issue due to the ramifications and argued ambiguity of Political Law 5, 8 and 9.
Furthermore yet not quite as violent, various Unionist Parishes in and around Basta and other major religious areas reacted with a mixed mindset over the Chancellor's Manathar Legislation. While some Curates equated the Lord Chancellor's bestowing of Protected Civil Status to Manathar for State service to the Fourth Creed others outright condemned the entire legislation on the basis that Manathar would have the same marital rights all other races and thus could interbreed, sullying the importance of the Fifth and Eighth Creed. Certainly opinion was split but for now, these discussions merely remained heated conclave debate.
In response to the Secretary of the Army...
The Conscription of large amounts of Delmotte, Peirgarten, du Brierust, Typhonus and Drachenburg men by the Secretary of the Army has caused stirs amongst the lesser families under said families, particularly Delmotte, Typhonus and Drachenburg for allowing a Northern belligerent wastrel to forcefully move loyal Unionist men around without any opposition from notable Unionist/Conservative liege lords. In response, Delmotte, Peirgarten, du Brierust, Typhonus and Drachenburg lands have experienced minor but frequent attacks on their albeit small Old Fayth populous.
In response to the Secretary of the Faith...
Isldar across the Regalian Archipelago still loyal to the Frisit faith have called for the removal of Jared Kade from the position of Secretary of Faith for his indecisiveness, manipulability by the Synod and treason to his TRUE Isldar race and faith. His declarations up until now, particularly on that of Frisit Worship have resulted in quasi-legal attacks to be carried out on Isldar men, women and even children indiscriminately, regardless of whatever faith they claim to be worshiping.
In response to the Secretary of Magi...
For the most part, the Secretary of Magi's law changes did not come as a surprise to the more left-leaning members of the Regalian Empire, however upon publishing of the new legislation, conservative parties across the entire reaches of the Archipelago immediately slammed down on the "extremely lax" policies placed upon magic usage within the Empire's regions. They did, however for now, mostly keep their displeasure to mere complaints and verbal disagreement save for Calderliga which erupted in minor non-aggressive protests calling for the "Knife-Ear Spook" to be removed from office for threatening the sanctity of the Empire's security.
