At the moment, I have no idea how the elections are run within the noble community all that I know is that they happen. Whether you would elect chancellors or mayor etc, I feel like everyone should have the choice to vote instead of the select few. I will be using the position of mayor to try and explain my idea. Basically, you'd have a long process where certain people who have increased popularity within the community would run for mayor and hold meetings and press conferences so they could express their beliefs and promises. Then after they have had their campaign, they would be put under a voting system where everyone in the massive community would have the chance to vote for whoever they liked and whoever had enough votes would be elected as mayor. This position would hold certain benefits such as connections to the nobles and whatever other ideas you can come up with. They would also have free drinks at the tavern which is definitely an added bonus. They would be mayor for an extended period of times, this could range from several months to a year dependent on your views. This person would almost be a representative of the entirety of the massive community and would be able to pass on ideas to the people that can actually make a change. I just feel like this may be a step forward in the right direction in turns of connection between player and staff.

Please tell me your views and opinions on this, whether it's good or bad.

Only land holders can currently vote because the ruling class of Regalia is supported by a medieval society that is not a democratic one. But ... a commoner can become Chancellor this time around. So one way to get involved is by pursuing that. Get your character known and start petitioning the people who can vote. There's a lot of them: http://forums.massivecraft.com/threads/hadravian-war-peace-arch-chancellorship.31334/

It won't be easy but it'll be fun and could make your character famous (or infamous). A well-run campaign could lead to other, unexpected opportunities popping up later.

On the topic of mayors, that's something else, I guess.
