Elden Veluanna
Race / Culture: Orion (Star-born)
Age: 27
Gender / Pronouns: Male (He/Him)
Religion: Draconism (questioning, philosophical)
Occult: N/A
Occupation: Astronomer, Scholar, Scribe, Wanderer
Appearance
A man who seems to belong to two worlds—the celestial and the earthly—Elden carries himself with a quiet grace, an unspoken reverence for the vastness of existence.
- Eyes: A luminous shade of emerald green, flecked with golden stardust, as though tiny constellations have been scattered across his irises. They shift subtly in dim light, gleaming like lanterns in the dark. When he stares at the sky, his gaze is far away, like a man looking homeward to a place he has never known.
- Skin: A warm golden tan, faintly kissed by starlight. Under certain lighting—especially moonlight—his skin appears to shimmer ever so slightly, though whether this is an illusion or an inherent trait remains uncertain. His freckles, sprinkled lightly across his cheeks and nose, resemble tiny constellations, forming celestial maps upon his skin.
- Hair: Pale blond, bordering on white, like the wisps of a comet's tail streaking across the heavens. It is soft yet unruly, as though it retains the echoes of an eternal cosmic breeze. Though he attempts to keep it tidy, stray locks always seem to escape, curling over his forehead or brushing against his collar, a defiant reminder that some things resist control.
- Height & Build: At 5'11", he has an elegant, well-proportioned frame—lean but toned, built more for endurance than brute strength. His hands, long-fingered and dexterous, bear ink stains and faint callouses, evidence of countless nights spent writing, sketching, and constructing delicate instruments of study.
- Posture & Presence: There is a natural grace in his movements, a quiet deliberation that makes him seem almost weightless at times, as though gravity has only a loose hold on him. He often moves slowly when deep in thought, his fingers tracing unseen patterns in the air, as if arranging the stars themselves. But in moments of inspiration, he is swift—his hands flying over parchment, his eyes alight with an inner fire.
Skills & Talents
Academic & Intellectual Abilities
- Master of the Stars: Elden's knowledge of astronomy, mathematics, and celestial navigation is unparalleled. He understands the motion of the heavens as one might know the rhythm of their own heartbeat. He can predict lunar cycles, track planetary alignments, and navigate the world by starlight alone.
- Gifted Scholar & Thinker: A voracious consumer of knowledge, Elden can devour entire books in a day and recall them with near-perfect clarity. His mind is a vast library of facts, theories, and philosophical musings. However, his knowledge is deep rather than broad—he knows everything about celestial mechanics, alchemy, literature, and history, but practical survival skills? Not so much.
- Alchemy Hobbyist: Though not a dedicated alchemist, Elden has a deep appreciation for the alchemy of the stars. He experiments with celestial-infused potions and theories, attempting to recreate cosmic reactions on a small scale. His methods are often unorthodox—sometimes dangerously so.
- Writer & Poet: Elden writes constantly, not merely for study, but because he cannot help himself. His journals are filled with reflections, dreams, poetry, and fragments of philosophy, each page ink-stained with the weight of his thoughts. He writes with flowing, elegant penmanship, his words chosen with care, as if trying to capture the fleeting essence of the universe itself.
Hobbies & Personal Passions
Books as Companions:
Elden does not simply enjoy books—he adores them. They are his greatest solace, his most trusted friends, and the keepers of his dreams. His love for literature is insatiable, and he is never without a book tucked beneath his arm or tucked away in his satchel. He collects rare tomes, treasures fragile manuscripts, and treats even the most mundane book as a sacred object.
The Quill as a Stargazer's Tool:
For Elden, writing is more than a skill—it is an obsession. He writes with care and reverence, believing that words have the power to shape the world just as the stars shape the sky. His journals are labyrinths of ink, filled with poetic musings, scientific theories, and stories waiting to be born. He dreams of writing a grand tome—one that explains the universe itself, but he fears he will never have enough time to complete it.
The Search for Meaning:
Elden is more than a scholar—he is a seeker. He is haunted by the feeling that something is missing, that the universe holds a secret just beyond his grasp. He seeks meaning in stars, books, faith, and philosophy, yet no answer ever feels complete. It is not enough for him to simply study the stars—he wants to understand them, to hear their whispers, to know why he fell from them.
Personality & Beliefs
- Thoughtful & Philosophical: He often loses himself in thought, pausing mid-conversation to stare at the sky or scribble notes on a passing idea. To him, everything is connected—science, faith, literature, the cosmos.
- Soft-Spoken but Passionate: While not loud or boisterous, Elden speaks with intensity when discussing his passions. His voice is calm but compelling, as if he is telling a great cosmic story and inviting others to listen.
- Faith vs. Logic: Raised in Draconism, Elden still respects its teachings, but he cannot silence his doubt. He wonders: Do the stars follow divine will, or are they bound by their own natural law? Is belief in fate foolish, or is it simply another way of describing the unseen mechanics of the universe?
Backstory
A Star Falls to Aloria
The night he fell, the sky burned. A streak of light, a brilliant tear in the heavens, plummeting toward the earth. An infant wrapped in stardust, cradled in the ruins of a fallen meteorite.
He was found by the Veluanna family, a lineage of Isldar scholars and astronomers, who took him in without question. His adoptive father, a renowned scientist, recognized something otherworldly in the boy's strange glow, in the way the stars seemed to shift when he gazed upon them.
Among his siblings, Kethren was his twin in soul, if not in blood. Together, they grew up pouring over ancient tomes, mapping constellations, and whispering dreams of distant worlds.
Then came the fire.
A devastating blaze consumed their home, their library, and their family. Elden and Kethren barely escaped.
With nothing but the clothes on their backs and a satchel of half-burned books, they became wanderers—not just of the land, but of knowledge, of faith, of meaning.
