College Of Magic ~ Seraphim Academy (now Accepting Applications)

I like the idea of building on a mountain in Jorrihld, but my second choice would be Teled because of the large elven ruins. But Ithania and Fendarfell are possibilities, but aren't they dying worlds?

Uh, no? Ellador and Daendroc are the ones with the warning signs, I think these worlds still have lots of time.

Ithania is fairly old, but it got MassiveRestore because so many people still love and inhabit it.

In my opinion Teled is hard to build in due to the enormous custom trees and cliffy terrain, and Jorrhild would lore-wise be a bad idea because of the extremely cold weather, barbaric natives and the long journey to Regalia.

Why not set up a poll so everyone can state their opinion?

Good idea, I tried to add a poll but it wouldn't allow me. I can just add the question to thread and allow people to comment what they think.

If you need help with lore and eventually making a thread, I would be totally psyched to help out with this. I've been stalking your questions on Lore Q&A and I'm actually really excited about this :3

Yes, I would love your help! Actually you could help a lot by answering the questions actually if you have time. My main question to the public right now, is the world they want to college to be in. I will be sure to let you know when the college is built, and open for business, so you could help make a thread!

What do you guys think about New Ceardian snow biome, north of AlDarub somewhere near the coast or on top of that mountain. AlDarub is in the northwestern corner of the snowbiome. Do you think the cold weather would be more bearable rp wise @Azazaa ? gonna tag a few people from the thread.
@xandiexand299 @Barsi_ @Lord_Immortal @Furry_Panda @Aespair @5devildragon @Enkiduu

Sorry if I'm bothering you guys feel free to let me know if you don't want to be notified about this any further or being tagged...

In my opinion that's definately a better idea than Jorrhild - The weather is probably a bit less cold, but I hope it'll be more lore compliant.

I think New Ceradia is a great place! Now that you've mentioned it, it's much better than Jorrhild, as it will have a lot more resources there. From a RP standpoint, I'd assume the weather would be a bit warmer, which would make it more bearable. I think that's a good place to start!

Awesome! Looks like that'll be the spot then! Unless there are any objections...

Sounds good to me.

Well you could still go with Jorrhild, the transporting of resources could be a good source of rp, only if you're contacting one of the houses/families that goes into agriculture, transport and the likes. I think it could be interesting to see their stocks go low etc and for the trade routes to be snowed in. Making an infallible location is never fun, making one with environmental issues definitely could be ^.^

Personally I'd prefer Jorrhild since it's newer and likely to last longer. Besides the fact that the extreme cold could be incredibly fun to rp within.

I just think that there are a lot of communities of Rp'ers with their own family histories and the like, and by including them through ways as simply as surviving in a new location, we could improve the quality of roleplay. Plus don't tell me that the idea of arctic adventures doesn't excite you, with the threat of being snowed under, dehydrating, starving to death or just plain hypothermia. Not to mention the predators.

I mean you'd have to look into the culture of different races and tribes and such native to Jorrhild and their opinion on magic. I do agree that the trade routes would be really cool and interesting to add the role-play, though.

I've actually changed my mind. Lord_Immortal is right, in my opinion. From an RP standpoint, Jorrhild would be a much more interesting place for the college. Harsh weather and predators would offer a more stressful (but in a good way, in a fun way) roleplay experience, and having to use trade routes would connect Regalia to the college. Also, as you said, Jorrhild is new, so it'll probably be around for longer. I personally think that Jorrhild would be a really good place to start the college.

PS - My character is rather interested in being a guard, so if you do introduce guards into the college, my character will be happy to join! That is, unless he becomes a violet or a house guard first.

I have a mage level Lightning mage and a mage level fire mage that can both teach there. I'm very active and would love to see this. We shouldn't let everyone in and make them apply. I also thing it would be good to make it a faction and have walls around it so we are not being bothered by people roaming around. It should have a sign outside saying this is a strict roleplay zone.

Alright! you guys have convinced me to build it in Jorrhild again! xD I will let you guys know when I have decided on a spot there. Feel free to let me know of any good spots! This is probably the last time I will change my mind FYI. I think that this will offer some interesting roleplay! @spaceiero @Furry_Panda @Lord_Immortal @xandiexand299

I'm not a genius when it comes to finding land, but Jorrhildr does seem to be the best candidate here. Not only would it make for good roleplay, but people that join the college IC would have to be really dedicated to the college if they were to join because of the harsh landscape.

Maybe have some ruins underneath the college that can be accessed from an old room with cobwebs and stuff. There the people with hidden magic could practice in secret and members could sneak in

Yeah I definetely want to do something like that. I want there to be several places to rp in, and around the college.

It could be like the book unwanteds were we say we kill them but we actually teach him.we would be telling the azure order this so they would not attack.

I think @Xx_Ginjaninja_xX will figure out this whole azure order thing because they would have an eye on us and things could very easily go wrong with them if we make a wrong step.

To me, it seems like the best situation would be to avoid contacting the Azure Order at all. The college wouldn't, IC, be something that would need to be advertised, as word would spread slowly and quietly but surely among the community of mages. With that in mind, if the college didn't broadcast their existence, they could theoretically exist more or less outside the grip of Regalia and the Azure Order, if it's just an old castle in the middle of nowhere in a frozen wasteland.

That does sound like a good Idea. Azure order isn't that friendly!

Well, perhaps you could wait until you have something tangible to present to them. Some screenshots of how the castle is coming along, a loose, written and organized outline of how you plan to conduct roleplay there, and ask if they have any advice for you.

I think that @Xx_Ginjaninja_xX would like to coordinate efforts with staff, rather than doing something that they may say isn't lore compliant.

No yea I agree, I was actually the one to propose that idea hehe.

I'm just saying, in order to show them that you are committed to the project, give them something to work with. In the same way the staff can't review a character application that hasn't had a first draft yet, they can't really provide helpful feedback unless there is a good layout of what you plan to do.

You've got a point there. @Xx_Ginjaninja_xX I recommend that you lay out a very basic plan for how the college would be run. I'd be happy to help with this, if you need me to! Once you've got a basic plan, I would say do something like this:

General Overview:
Blah blah blah blah blah

Goal for the College:
Blah blah blah blah blah

How it will be Run:
*insert plan here*

Then I'd just tag staff, as recommended above. Probably one or two highly active lore peeples.

Panda is spot-on here, we need to get more information about the college, and give the lore staff (bless their souls) a general overview of the college.
