⫸ History⫷
The beginnings of House Kazakov trace their ancestry back to the pre-Oltaran Kingdom period. During this period of time, the Kazakov family was known as one of the greater families within the independent settlements in ancient Oltaran. Known for their militaristic nature, the Kazakovs grew to power, subjugating a few settlements until the head of House Kazakov, Dymtrus Kazakov bent the knee to the King of Oltaran, swearing to protect him and his children. During the civil war in the 170s, the elder Kazakovs, accompanied by their Krai brethren, fought fiercely for their king, exiled along with the royalists. During the Skagger Wars, Lord Leon Kazakov swore to Yaroslav Dragić, a lifelong friend and battle companion, and Emperor Allamaria. Pressing a charge alongside their Krai brethren, House Kazakov made its new home within the province of Pirizhia. Pirizhia was the last province to be consolidated to Dogmatic Unionism, conforming under the Everwatcher and the Emperor. Lord Leon was adamant on securing the Dragić bloodline, swearing to protect Yaroslav and those after him in Kyizamok. However, traditions soon would die out, and the memory of their friendship was left to the parchments of history.
Moving ahead to present day, the Kazakovs continue to remain at the centerpoint of Pirizhia. The militaristic rule of Pirizhia continued to thrive until the sudden death of Lord Konstantin Kazakov. With his death, Pirizhia's group of settlements started to question their overarching power. Pirizhia had a short, brief few months of chaos, denoted as the "Clash of Brethren." However, the confirmation of Lord Dmitry Kazakov at his victory at the Wild Fields against his brother confirmed the region's superior house. On the day of victory, Dmitry was endowed the title of "Count" of Pirizhia. The Kazakovs still regard themselves lower than House Dragić, yet no fealty had been sworn since the days of Yaroslav and Leon.
Over the years, House Kazakov, an Ailor family, slowly released from their old religious ways, adopting the pro-Regalian religion under Dogmatic Unionism. First introduced by Lord Leon Kazakov, it took many years before the family would truly respect and cherish the faith of the Everwatcher and the Emperor.
⫸ Wealth⫷
In review, the Kazakovs have a rich military background, with several lords being of service to Regalia's generals and officers ever since Leon Kazakov swore to the Emperor of Regalia. However, their wealth accumulates from ancient artifacts of old Oltaran along with taxation imposed on their lesser houses within Pirizhia. Through constant military service, the Kazakovs are endowed with land and spoils from the Empire.
