Formed in the early Spring of 308AC by a collection of Regalia's most talented scholarly minds, The Stiegenfrit Institute is an intellectual organization dedicated to the research and investigation of the four primary Science sectors: Medical Sciences, Alchemical Sciences, Technological Sciences, and Magical Sciences.
The institution was crafted in response to the Crown Isle's ongoing difficulties with both interdimensional and mundane dissent. With the Royal Scholar's Court preoccupied with aberrational activity elsewhere in the Archipelago, it became clear that Regalia was in desperate need of an organization that could oversee the diverse intellectuals of the Holy City. Thus, The Steigenfrit Institute was born, (named after the Grandfather of Regalian medicine, Helmut Steigenfrit,) in order to put talented Scholars from all major fields in contact with one another to share information, knowledge, and supplies. Governmental officers, Guard Charters, and wealthy individuals alike are encouraged to commission the Charter for any and all scholarly or research needs.
The Steigenfrit Institute is primarily based within the old Von Duerr Medical Surplus on the edge of New Town, where it houses it's advanced laboratories stocked with Regalia's most recent technological inventions. In addition, the building holds ample room for meetings, lectures, and studies, which may be held by any of it's charter members. Clandestine documents pertaining to the extensive research made within its walls are held at an unnamed location, privy only to the trusted scholars within, while the findings of the organization are routinely collected and released to the public for all those with curious minds.

The Overseer
The Overseer of the Steigenfrit Institute is considered the legal 'owner' of the charter. Communication with the Government is primarily done through this individual, and he or she bears the burden of any misconduct made by those below them.

The Head Secretary
The Head Secretary is in charge of all written communications made between outside parties and the Institute. Most letters, applications, and requests go through The Head Secretary before being passed onwards to the relevant parties.

Head of Medical Sciences
The Head of Medical Sciences oversees all physicians and healers within the Institute. They are in charge of ensuring proper conduct of the order's physicians, and routinely visit medical establishments to review their hygiene and the quality of work.

Head of Alchemical Sciences
The Head of Alchemical Sciences oversees all alchemists within the Institute. They govern the laboratory's regulated ingredients, and oversee all experiments made on new or dangerous substances within the institute.

Head of Technological Sciences
The Head of Technological Sciences oversees all clockworkers, metalworkers, and inventors within the Institute. They ensure proper regulation of illegal or semi-legal clockwork cores, and oversee access to rare and experimental machinery.

The Head of Magical Sciences oversees all dimenthists, sorcerers, and aberrants within the Institute. They ensure proper conduct of all aberrants associated with the order, and oversee usage of any magical abilities used for research.
