The bells of the city tolled as the sun hung high in the air, the usual bustle of the city suddenly interrupted by the dull dongs of the bells. While the citizens gazed up in wonder, criers rode rampant throughout the city, their horses saddled and modelling the Imperial Standard. As each horseman flew past, flyers trailed them, the light-yellow parchment hanging in the low breeze before being plucked from the floor and air by bystanders. The notes littered the floor, all being of the same announcement:

Following the distribution of flyers, the bells continued to toll as a proper crier occupied the tavern, verbalizing the announcement while also tacking the flyer onto the tavern noticeboard. The bells continued to toll until sunset, and the act was properly deemed in-effect.

Reaching a hand to gingerly grab a fluttering flyer from the air, Michel brings it to rest infront of him, green eyes skimming quickly down the announcement decree, and a faint little smirk quirks at the corner of his lips. A little breath of a 'heh' slides past his tongue.

"Glorious. Hopefully this will cut down on a bit of arrogance that comes with swinging a battleaxe at their sides." He murmurs largely to himself, before folding it and sliding it into his coat, deciding to let N'omiel use it for reading practice later. He turns, away from the curious crowd beginning to gather to catch the flyers identical to the one in his possession.

Theodora sat by the golden sands of the Thessalonikon coast, being tended to by six Etosian handmaidens, all dressed in gold and brown adorned with jewels. As she sipped her strong, black coffee the Countess received a flyer from Eirini, one of her handmaids. Scanning her eyes over the light-yellow parchment, she let it waft to the sea, grinning in a fashion all too devilish. Rising from her chair, she sighed, flicking her dark curls away from her face as the golden disc earrings bobbled about.

"Prepare the boat; I chave business in the city to attend to."

Phon looks through the beam of sunlight in his cell as the news reached his ears. He stared blankly into the distance before silently speaks to himself.

"First Durgak, then Vurgruk. How many more orcs will fall by this..."

With a sigh, he closes his eye and listens to the bell sound until nightfall.

Leugel Viduggla ponders on the note once more before going to bed. He certainly hadn't noticed an increase in Orc involved crimes but then again, he didn't really go to the places that that might be happening. He then mutters as to goes into his room "They helped us win the war, yet good choice to reel them in in their "celebrations"..."

Yung-Li Galasta looks at the note after one drifted on the wind and onto her perch. "Well, how dull." she says before crawling back down into her office through the window.

In truth this should be inforced to all races, it's annoying to be RPing as a vampire and when I attack someone a group of people pull out a sword, spear, crossbow, a plethora of perfectly balanced throwing daggers and sometimes start shooting fire.

Carrying weapons in Regalia is illegal anyway for non guards. This decree just means Orcs loose their head if they get caught doing so instead of being thrown in jail.

Vynce's honey brown irises danced along the parchment with little to no sincere interest; however, after reading the contents of the decree, he folded it in half and tucked it into his back pocket. With a sigh, his gaze trailed after the horsemen while they galloped by, an apparent glint of yearning in his stare lingering once they barreled out of sight. Hadn't ridden in some time, he thought to himself as he drew his gloved hand up to rake his fingers through his unkempt scruff along his strong jawline. Upon realizing that there did not seem to be any reason for him to be standing out in the street with various strangers, he turned about, returning his right palm to his left forearm's stab wound in hopes of slowing the blood flow once more, and began to venture back home. At least I ain't goin' to have to worry about orcs anymore, his mind confirmed and brought a faint, nearly undetectable smile to his thin, scarred lips.

D'aww no more brutal orcs to beat up my characters? What will I do now? :P This is intense. Good luck, green-skins :3

I feel that's a good thing, but I don't think you do

Does this new law only apply to full orcs, or to half orcs too?
Because one of my characters is half Orc, half human, and I don't wanna get his head chopped off because of this law .-.

Could I suggest making this a bit more public? Maybe putting it in the roleplay death etiquette thread or loss apt creating a whole new thread for Regalian rules. There have been a number of complaints in general when I have been on that people have been RP jailed, not knowing what they done wrong.

There is an announcement board right next to the tavern that has it all pinned down.

This may be a question for the Lore Q&A thread, and if so feel free to ignore this, however I figured since it was brought up in this thread I may as well ask here.

Does a staff carried by an old man for support count? (In addition to being elderly he also has an injured leg, so it is somewhat necessary for him to get around.) The staff is bound in iron at the top and bottom, so technically it could be used as a blunt weapon, but that is not it's purpose. And hes a pretty un-threatening guy :)

Weapons are generally counted as pointy or slicey stuff. This means in theory you can go around carrying a club on your back and be fine.

The beautiful logic of the Regalian guard astounds me once again xD
Well things like staffs and clubs are less blatantly threatening. I mean sure you can deal damage with blunts, but I could imagine guards being more on guard with an individual bearing an iron forged blade then a stick.

Would one be allowed to carry around small weapons for self defense?
Also all ladies in the city should be issued a small dagger as there are some shady types.

Personally, I would be more scared of a club than a sword. If one has equal experience with both, the pure force of the club can cave in metal, crush bones to powder, etc. A sword, yeah, it has the stabby bit, but that's all it is. A sword. Now, I have some anime to watch ;P

I say Bows should be allowed in the city as they can be aimed for non leathal spots easier

Well you guys are in luck, one of my character has a spike bat and maces. Would that count as blunt or blade?
