Formed on the 4th day of the 6th month 308AC, The Helguard stands firm to serve and protect the interests of House od Albion and its members. However the story of this remarkable Houseguard goes back years to the fable of the famed 'Hochmeisters Helm'- a relic of many combats. Legend has it the helmet is actually a Breizh Angel- forged from the blessings five reverends upon the most esteemed steel of Kintyr. The Helmet has undergone much turmoil since its presence in Regalia- having been worn at the burning of the Lichs' Library, during the service of The Holy Divine Inquisition and at the Sewer Crusades of old. It has escaped the coveted hands of both Guard and Criminal to now be stood on display at the od Albion estate in Regalia.
Now under the command of Firsthelm Wolvard od Albion, brother to Lord Tyrael od Albion. The membership of The Helmguard is of multiple conservative factions within Regalia, serving as the acting shield of protection for House od Albion. Strong are the men, who cannot be converted.
The establishment of The Helmguard comes alongside the rights and protections for which members of the ranks posses in order to perform their duties correctly. By order of Regalian Law, The Helmguard may practice the following rights while on duty with the noble they're protecting,
- The right to utilise halfplate armour while on duty.
- The right to utilise non-military grade weapons while on duty.
- The right to defend with equal or lesser force under situations where the safety of their noble is compromised.
- The right to detain any who attempt to bring harm to their noble and transfer them to on-duty law enforcement.
The command structure of The Helmguard is ultimately in service to the 1st Patriarch Lord Tyrael od Albion followed by Firsthelm Wolvard od Albion of the Helmguard. Command is then ultimately given to other members of House od Albion, then Captains within The Helmguard. Leftenants and Helmguardsmen then follow after.

Those within The Helmguard are expected above all else to serve loyally, fulfilling any wishes of an od Albion with the expectation that they are their acting hand. Loyalty is rewarded above all else. Loyalty to the family, Unionism and Conservatism being the key pillars that hold up the organisation. Do to this and to do this well on its own is sufficient. The truest of Helmguardsmen possess competence under stress, leadership capability and devotion to the job, being able to serve flexibly when needed and to remain as firm as steel at other times.
