Since Ceardia will be deleted soon, I am wondering if we can take memorable or wanted cuboids and put them into another world. We could use WorldEdit's //copy or //cut commands, and then just //paste them into a different world or location. This would help move valuable structures to a desired world and stop the number of complaints that might be coming in because Ceardia was deleted.

Many factions still have homes and land in Ceardia that are treasured. Instead of having them rip it up, they could simply transport it with WorldEdit.

I'm not sure if this has been suggested before or even tried. I would like to know if this is possible and if it would be useful.

Staff did this for the last few worlds. Some sites I've HEARD will be moved, but they are not owned by individual players and their owners will not be able to keep them. Things like bases used for bo2s etc. If a staff member decided to move your base, they could show no bias whatsoever and would have to move EVERYBODY'S base.

It was already hard enough moving Aloria and Binral, now we have hundreds more players and factions. there is no way they could move everything.

Also, Who said Ceardia was being removed?

We revealed Ceardia was going to be removed a long time ago.
We simply haven't set a date but it will be a long time until it's removed.

I'm not talking about moving everything. But maybe players could send helpops for this. Somebody can look at it and approve moving it if it is good enough. I mean, I would want to move some stuff into the Grid for my own keeping.

I meant, whoever wants to have a specific building moved. I'm not talking about the whole world, not even a large part of it. But if there's a specific church or forge that you would really like to keep, it would help.

The team has no intentions of moving any stuff Around for players. the long time you get before deletion should be more than enought to move your valuables. I have allready Done it, dont de lazy. :P want a memory? Take a photo.

I do agree with Igel_Son's statement.

The team has no intention of doing any world edit for players, this also includes personal items.

You should make Silveredge be like that city in Borderlands and have it lift up from the ground into the sky and make a sky city while the rest of the world is deleted. That would be funny

I`m with imboring on this one. It seems rediculous to me that some of you would think to delete (for example) a 5 month mega-build because the guy on the hill with the dinky cottage thinks it`s unfair.

I think that maybe a comitte or group of people that would be elected to judge and evaluate whether or not to save certain builds would be a good idea. Maybe we can post pictures of builds in Ceardia that and have everyone vote democratically on the forums regarding whether or not they should be kept?

I don`t really see any way in which we could satisfy all the players but maybe this may be a solution that could accomodate hopefully the majority...

This is not possible, sorry.

Bah... was worth the suggestion... I guess you guys in Ceadria better get your picks and shovels ready so you can start uprooting! lol

Actually, i dont believe that is entirely true. To an extent it is, but what I heard from a certain someone the other day was that... *I don't think I should mention the next part.*

As from my knowledge:
Since I'm part of the team we never moved stuff for the players. And we never will because it give an unfair advantage to some players, over the others. This is consideret as evil and will cause a lot of problems/discussion/hating/crying towards the team. This is simply not what we want. Also; take the new worlds as a new start! Build new, come up with great architecture and build a new, nice home.

Lets talk about this in conversation between me and you only. Is that alright?

Thank you for ranking My post off-tropic for reasons i Dont understand. If you dont belive me shambang, and Desidses to trust rumors insted well then thats your problem, not mine.

But seriously, all administrators on Massivecraft (you know, us with world edit) are unified in not moving anything for players out from Ceardia.

Disclaimer:
The Team might use some structures as b02's for upcoming worlds.

Do you think it's fair if a mod calls your build a piece of crap and leaves it to rot? Mods can't be biased, at all.

There is no need for this "spawn city" to be preserved. Regalia will replace Silveredge's purpose.[DOUBLEPOST=1357815132][/DOUBLEPOST]

In regards of this, I would like to add that this is FALSE.

As Igel_Son and I already have stated: We do not move anything for players. And yes you shuld qoute me for this.

Any other rumors or players saying "I heard they do this and that" Is Not true. Please look for posts made by team members with administrator rang.

So if there are some buildings in the Zion city that could be transfered to the Grid for Faradeen usage, you would do it?
The world department and the Faradeen project leader (monmarty) will take what they need. If you are working on the grid, building bo2's and have a specific idea, talk to them. :)

That`s why i suggested maybe people can post pictures and have the community as a whole vote on what should be kept or not. The fact of the matter is that some builds actually are "crap" and if the majority agree then at least it would be a democratic vote...

sorry about that, it was a miss click, and i was using my phone at the time. oh and my fingers are to big for it, so when i tap down on the screen. ill sometimes accidentally hit the wrong icon. is the forums formatted so that it can fit on to phones?

As Igel said, we will not be world editing things for people from Ceardia into a new world.

So... U belived a mod more than two admins? :-P

Ye we should take a look on mobile possibilties!

Well, if you can't save anything for individuals, what about taking some of the amazingly well built castles and towns and making them into instances? I for on would LOVE to have large faction wars in this base. There are definitely other locations in Ceardia that hold much merit as instances to expand the combat factor on the server.

***Official statement is official***

Some buildings of use for Hadar and Faradeen will be salvaged. These buildings will be picked by admins in charge of World development, and them alone. Currently the only admins working on something related to world development are myself and Wessexstock. I am technically not in the WD team, but I try to spend some free time to move that department along to not make it a complete standstill during the complete absence of Wessexstock. So to put things on a row:

  • Igel_son and Firesoap will never world edit anything out of decaying worlds unless they join the WD department.
  • MonMarty or Wessexstock will never world edit anything out, without asking prior to the faction owner.
  • World edited builds will never remain the property of the previous owner, they will function as world props and bo2's, they will always be claimable by everyone, or function as quest/instance locations with potential treasures.
  • World edited builds will sometimes become partially destroyed versions of their current state
  • Mods or trusted do not have the ability or permission to world edit anything out of a decaying world.
  • Currently, the only valid source of world edited builds is myself, trust no other *rumors* even if from a mod.
  • Currently, the only build approved for extraction is the city of Alamut. Permission was asked to Kapry and the city will be used as a prop in the Faradeen desert map. More builds are up for selection, but have not been determined yet.
  • You cannot request your build to be world edited under any form or circumstance.

Didn`t i say we should do this in my first post and everyone said no buildings would be preserved?

No not really? you wanted a commite to deside what should be saved from Ceardia. The fact still remains as in martys post. Players will not have anything preserved.

there are some beutiful builds in cerdia it will be shame to see some go to waste[DOUBLEPOST=1357857091][/DOUBLEPOST]maybe a mod before cerdia is destroyed, could go round screen shotting the major cities so players have history to look at if they made the shots public ?

I think Mon's post clearly explained what I wanted to hear. Lock and move please :)
