Who’s Staying And Who’s Leaving?

When i was a junior gamestaff kiddo I begged for dis change . It came - but I dont really see myself being active here.

I mean just because everything gets reset and new people take ownership of the server doesn't mean that there still won't come a day where it doesn't make financial sense to keep going. I'm super hopeful but I'm always looking at the what ifs. They could do their best and everyone love the new server and still have something happen where we'll wake up to a surprise announcement that it's all shutting down. I don't want that to happen though. They seem to know what they are doing.

Honestly this reset gives me hope for it lasting longer. Before this whole situation I figured Massive would be gone by ~2019 but now it feels like it can go for at least another year. Ofc I have no actual numbers to back up either of these estimates, but the general positivity about the reset has made me feel like it's going to get more active.
I think you are right. Things were kind of stagnant before. I just hope it works and it lasts.

my lifes picking up sadly so i may not be on massive a nuts ton (like the stupid 10 hour grinds daily i used to have)

but im still gonna stay, yall losers never seen my tru alfa form yet

Staying because this server is a drug to me, but probably inactive because working mid-day/night shifts 5 days a week is quite exhausting.!!

Leaving, there's no reason for me to stay here any longer honestly. I'll probably log in every now and then and wander aimlessly but I've lost all interest in RP.

Edit: already starting to change my mind heh

Probably coming back actually was gone for a few months I'd say... might make a go at it again and continue Fathiyaa's story sorta.

I am not staying nor am i leaving.

I have great memories laying on the server. I started on Ellador, now gone
Moved to Ithania, now gone. I have been in Fendarfell, where i stopped.

Too big a debt due pointless faction wars and raids. I had nothing left. I felt bullied. Once a big faction of over 40 people. Now only I, myself remain. Some turned against me, some became allies in other factions.

Friends left and right. I will never forget any of you. @rng11, @Volundrr @daniel_meicker, @SpoopMelon
(and more people i dont remember their names of).

Leaving, because:
I have a lot of personal problems i need to solve first. As well as work needing me.

Staying, because:
Rp, loved to do it. But most important reason I'm staying is because of all my friends on this server.

One day i will return and pick up the pieces and rebuild my faction... one day... the Shadowwalkers shall return....

Greetnings from your friendly neighbourhood scrub.

Skernzy

I'll be staying. Well, in fact, returning. It had been too long. I feel this change is going to have a great outcome. I look forward to seeing you all there.

MassiveCraft used to have a magic to it

The magic of a new and frightening landscape
and of even more frightening players
they weren't so bad when you got to know them, and they know a lot about Massive
and they encouraged you to play on the server, and whispered to you legends of times past (cough @Alj23 cough)'
And now, after years of mineman combat and turmoil, you are amongst those legends who had once inspired you to join them in the sun and achieve wonders
now it's your duty to inspire a new generation of minemen and women

the circle of life
balanced, as all things should be

It's as @TheyCalledMeKiko said

There was never an option

Super cringe

Yeah let's convince a load of new players to get involved in our community so they can have their Facebooks sought out, pictures saved and get insulted on how they look or how they dressed when they were 14. Let's get them into pvp and tell them they're shit but also tell them that they can't fight others because it's "unfair" and that they're responsible for ruining the factions world. Let's find out personal information about them and use it against them in a public chat in an attempt to flame them, which for most people, would make them also quit the server. Let's invite minewomen to pvp and then make them out to be controlling sluts over their faction mates when they have more influence than you.

Sure, let's inspire a new generation. I'm sure they have much to aspire to.

I've never had to worry about my privacy despite playing and pvping on massive for the past 5 years. And flame's a part of literally every video game. It's annoying yea, but it's life.

Just because you haven't had to deal with it doesn't mean many others haven't.
Some of the flame I've experienced went way beyond the standard flame exchanged between players.

I believe there's a way to report toxic players...

Done multiple times, nothing ever gets done, I'm told to just ignore them, which tbf I shouldn't have to. They're still gonna do the same crap just without me seeing. Which is still damaging to me.

Anyway this isn't so much about me, but I just want to highlight that new people aren't going to want to stay due to the people who want to invite them.

Keep on topic. This thread is not the place for flame and accusations

That being said, I don't think I've done any of those things. I stopped making fun of people for their IRL appearance when Funky made me realise the effect it was having on people, and I haven't done it since. If you're talking about the relationship debacle a few weeks back- that was a guess, not a revelation of irl information.

This reset is just that- a reset. Can we agree to not come out of the blue and flame completely unprovoked? That shite should stay in the past.

Currently my only plan is to rebuild our 5 year old Valkyrie statue. Probably on the highest peak if I can snag it. @Thorjl will be doing the same. Whatever happens after that, I dunno.

The "relationship debacle" was you trying to flame me UNPROVOKED. And we both know it wasn't a guess because I saw Toku tell you and I have the screen shot to prove it.
You're an absolute waste of space and a hypocrite. Just another corrupt staff member pretending to be above it all but still does the same crap. Clearly funky didn't get through to you if that's what she was trying to do. Otherwise you'd have kept your mouth shut and left me alone.

If you have an issue with me feel free to make a staff report

Same thing as above

Though, I'd like to see this screenshot. I personally don't remember this conversation with Toku but feel free to refresh my memory. We can continue this discussion in pm, but rn this thread is being derailed so

I'm staying because I believe that the reset is a brilliant course of action, stand-alone or considering the circumstances thrown on the staff so suddenly. The way the server's been, it would continue to be insanely hard for new players to be able to make good money and acquire good gear anytime soon after they joined unless the materials were freely given. The way it was, the vast riches and experience that most of the other players already had was quite intimidating and deterred lots and lots of new players from ever logging back on. With the reset, it's a fresh start. Chaotic in the first stages, maybe, but what could bring people closer? The point of the factions is to band a group of players together to survive and become strong together, not for one powerful player to accumulate random followers like property. The exchange of goods between players should be meaningful and valuable to both parties, not akin to some abundant pearls being chucked at the crowd for a few dollars to add to the world-swallowing pool the seller already has. With the reset, it's a chance for the most recent wave of players to be valuable and learn and build together with the help of old-timers. It'll be a new era, one where old friends and new strangers are forced to work together to bring about stability for everyone.
