What Inspired Your Character?

Piper Josephine Pim: Piper is partially inspired by a redheaded character a friend of ours had back in the Haven days. Redheaded, foul-mouthed, and a little dirty. I was also partially inspired by the pickpocket/street rat archetype, and I wanted to have fun with that. Finally, Piper's clothing and demeanor is inspired by typical steampunk characters. Guns of Icarus probably contributed a touch. Her name came from my adoration of the name 'Piper', a generator that spat out 'Pim', and a bit of googling to find a good middle name to break up the P's. Piper Jo Pim.

Cecily Lo: In all honesty, Cecily is the mix between a stereotypical nerd and a Disney princess. I wanted to take the regality and airiness of a princess and combine it with her excessive book-smarts and poor social skills. From that, she's evolved to be inspired by the overbearing mother stereotype. I also took a lot of inspiration from the people around her while I was developing her. She tailed other noblewomen around like a puppy when I was first playing her, and tried to have her take on some of their mannerisms.

Dagmar Sorenvik: Her main premise on development was the religious kook -- somebody so devout to their faith that it's almost crazy. I took inspiration from typical monk or priest characters you might see in books or movies, where morality and consequence are attributed to their god, then cranked that up a notch so that everything was the workings of her gods. That mixed with a couple stereotypical viking themes and some good old fashioned character development helped shape her into who she is now. Dagmar's name comes from a book I once read -- I can't remember the book, only that I fell in love with the name.

Alison Vigoli: Alison was my first character here. I've always had a fondness for names like Alice and Alison, and Vigoli is relevant to me irl. Alison was based off a number of stereotypical vampirisms. Her schizophrenia is based off a ton of YouTube videos and websites detailing what schizophrenia is. Her black hair and pale skin are very gothy. When I first played her, she wore a red evening gown, dressed the role of a vampire countess, but acted the role of a madwoman. Her vampirism is inspired by heavy drug addiction, where no matter how much it hurts, it's still consistently justified.

Edward Peacefavor: Edward started at age 13 when I first played him, so I based his boorish, borderline mean personality off some of the guys I knew in middle school. I combined that with very stereotypical hippie behavior which led him to avoid meat, love animals, and care for the earth around him. As he began to grow, I kept him rude and outspoken, but threw in more empathy to allow him to connect with others better. With Edward, I was always inspired by the kind of character that knew what they were doing was wrong, but convinced themselves they didn't care.

Katthe Djilla
A complete switch-self insert who changed over time. I originally created her as cold and uncaring for those she didn't know, which was me IRL at the time. Then the Nenyarina happened and she softened up, the same as me OOCly as I got to know people and became comfortable. Basically, this character was me, then turned into not me, turning me into a better person OOCly.
Laleath Heiwynn
A newer one. She was based off of nothing in particular, maybe because she was played by one of my friends before me. But honestly, she's probably most heavily based off of the music I listen to, and my old self. I find it easy to play her, as I just have to get into my old mindset and roleplay. Her family orientation and hard-to-pass social barriers are based off of @xSketchedCrystal in a way, so is her mindset. Once you get to know her you have an infinite protection from harm, but before then you're the one prone to harm.

Akoni is like a better version of myself

Ania Santorski:
  • Definitely got inspired by the fighting-woman kind of character simply from getting into the series, Vikings. However, I didn't want it to be entirely stereotypical; as I've played her, however, she's kind of developed into a more shapely character.
Felda Haas:
  • Although very new, she's kind of like a snit-bit of myself. I can relate with the introverted type, and I believe it's that that helps me enjoy her. She was actually inspired from an anime I once watched when I was younger.

Duron Resclan
I originally made this character waaaaay back in the 2014's, I intended for him to be all-around Self interested Evil- A concept freshly stolen from one of my most favorite book series, Superhuman, based on the villain Krodin. The first superhuman, he had the ability of adaptability, high weapons skill, strength, speed, et cetera. But what really set him apart was the first one, allowing him to look at an opponents style of attack, committing it to memory and then the second time around not only would the tactic have much lower results but he could use it as well. This is what I tried funneling into the now dead Ethereal Mage, and I feel as if he changed much after he made an actual friend and I actually started getting serious with role play. The character grew to become great, and I grew to become a better all around person because Duron had an encounter with Cecil Empolan, who drove Duron into a more 'protective' uncle type, and a blood brother to the aforementioned Cecil. @Streako

Ruvaen Vendithas
- I wanted to make a super edgy character but then I mixed some good into the mix with a motivation of redemption.
- I wanted a character to be a soul mage to have all of my other failed attempts of characters around his waist hence the edyness.

Baird Blackwater: Now I have been RPing a Blackwater for awhile now I can say what helped me form him along the way and TBH I took bits and pieces from different characters I used to have and players that still have them by literally reading countless applications (@Walrusaur_ ) was the founding for his bluntness which I kinda took to an extreme really. And also for Baird's anger I made it up in my head really just took a ton of time. And even till this day, I complain Baird is not where I want him to be, but are we ever satisfied like ever HA!

Terisary Eshria-I based Teri off of Yuno Ghasi from The Future Diary and Oda from the ambition of Oda Nobuna, a cross between both with a little bit of mischief mixed into her and i got the Teri we know and love today.

Teri's personality has changed a lot, she has had a lot of physical changes like her eyes were once diamond blue, now they are sapphire blue, even her main wants in life...

But Teri will always be Teri no matter what ^.0

These are generally recent characters, and old characters...

Alva O'Cassedy/Amalao: To be honest I made her at a time when I was envious, and more insecure about myself. Alva was based off of what you would call nowaday demons. She was supposed to be my inherently impersonation of clear evil and debauchery. I basically stuck my boot into her butt, kicking her into Aloria saying, "Wreck what you can, and don't go soft." hence she did come softly. Later in her time she started becoming more of me... Well.. A more "Otherworldly and Malicious side" of my personality, being sarcastic, dismissive, ultimately rude, but one part of her is unavoidable, how she reflects her compassion regardless of malice. She today isn't played much, and I guess because that part of me died. To clarify Alva did start off as an insecure nelfin, when she became possessed, she was fun.

Mallorie Nonelle: I first created her to be a "Vampric french vigilante, who gets all the ladies" kinda guy. Than as time went on, I came with yes vampric, yes, french, but she'd more hidden, and solely based off of, if anyone remembers, a female version of Zoro. Not the direct thin, but it is in the end what I find what she'd more related to. Being a new character I've yet to find another other influences. In the end I always find my characters a sliver part of me, the insane, the kind, the rebellious, and the malicious-good.
