Piper Josephine Pim: Piper is partially inspired by a redheaded character a friend of ours had back in the Haven days. Redheaded, foul-mouthed, and a little dirty. I was also partially inspired by the pickpocket/street rat archetype, and I wanted to have fun with that. Finally, Piper's clothing and demeanor is inspired by typical steampunk characters. Guns of Icarus probably contributed a touch. Her name came from my adoration of the name 'Piper', a generator that spat out 'Pim', and a bit of googling to find a good middle name to break up the P's. Piper Jo Pim.
Cecily Lo: In all honesty, Cecily is the mix between a stereotypical nerd and a Disney princess. I wanted to take the regality and airiness of a princess and combine it with her excessive book-smarts and poor social skills. From that, she's evolved to be inspired by the overbearing mother stereotype. I also took a lot of inspiration from the people around her while I was developing her. She tailed other noblewomen around like a puppy when I was first playing her, and tried to have her take on some of their mannerisms.
Dagmar Sorenvik: Her main premise on development was the religious kook -- somebody so devout to their faith that it's almost crazy. I took inspiration from typical monk or priest characters you might see in books or movies, where morality and consequence are attributed to their god, then cranked that up a notch so that everything was the workings of her gods. That mixed with a couple stereotypical viking themes and some good old fashioned character development helped shape her into who she is now. Dagmar's name comes from a book I once read -- I can't remember the book, only that I fell in love with the name.
Alison Vigoli: Alison was my first character here. I've always had a fondness for names like Alice and Alison, and Vigoli is relevant to me irl. Alison was based off a number of stereotypical vampirisms. Her schizophrenia is based off a ton of YouTube videos and websites detailing what schizophrenia is. Her black hair and pale skin are very gothy. When I first played her, she wore a red evening gown, dressed the role of a vampire countess, but acted the role of a madwoman. Her vampirism is inspired by heavy drug addiction, where no matter how much it hurts, it's still consistently justified.
Edward Peacefavor: Edward started at age 13 when I first played him, so I based his boorish, borderline mean personality off some of the guys I knew in middle school. I combined that with very stereotypical hippie behavior which led him to avoid meat, love animals, and care for the earth around him. As he began to grow, I kept him rude and outspoken, but threw in more empathy to allow him to connect with others better. With Edward, I was always inspired by the kind of character that knew what they were doing was wrong, but convinced themselves they didn't care.
