Okay, let me first say this. I have never liked the idea of making a voting system focused around the idea of getting stuff in exchange for votes, but I do get that its sometimes necessary to have some incentive for the players to vote. I get that, and if the new voting system had only featured minor prizes I would have been annoyed, but not in a way that would really cause me to act or protest. However, the new voting system features some very.... questionable awards. From what I have heard, the tier 5 "massive armor" is a piece of armor with both the protection V and unbreaking V enchantments on it. There are several reasons why I think this kind of award should not be put in, one of the main reasons is that the unbreaking V enchantment cannot be obtained in vanilla Minecraft. You are essentially giving voters a piece of armor that is better than anything they could hope to obtain in vanilla minecraft, which to me is disgusting. My first request and suggestion is to completely remove the "massive armor" and anything else on the list that cannot be normally be obtained by players.

Now that I've finished with that, lets move on to the larger request. I would like the tier 4 and 5 rewards to be completely removed. My reasoning is that the rewards in those 2 tiers seem to be just too powerful for normal voting purposes. I would also like a few things to be removed from tier 3. By a few things I mean all of the "quality iron" tools. Let me explain my reasoning with this. Ideally, I would want it so there are no rewards, and people would only vote through their own initiative. But that evidently doesn't work, as shown by how Massivecraft has risen quickly through the Planetminecraft charts after the voting system was implemented. So currently I'm content to have a voting system that has fun little rewards. By fun little rewards I mean things that wouldn't really be better than what you have currently, but would be a novelty to have. Like the Silveredge guard armor. It's probably leather, and wouldn't be any use in a real fight, but looks nice and brings back some nostalgic memories of Silveredge. That's an example of a reward that you want to vote for, but doesn't necessarily give you great armor or weapons. Your own head is another award that seems pretty nice, as well as Cobblestonvich. A little bit of money doesn't hurt as a prize, as long as its not extreme. 1-5 silver as prizes should work pretty well.

To conclude, I have nothing wrong with Massivecraft using a voting system with incentives, but I don't like the fact that many of the awards in tier 3, 4 and 5 seem to be equal to or better than the tools and armor we use daily. If Massive would adjust their voting system to reward voters with fun little bits of leather armor, some silver, or player heads, I would be perfectly happy to vote.

This is what I was thinking of. Protection V can't be gotten in-game anyway, so it is just ridiculous to practically "hack" the game for some.

This is exactly what I would want to see implemented, just funny little things that have no real use, maybe just in roleplay. Don't give people unobtainable armor and tools, just give them things that people will want to collect but won't alter gameplay extremely. Even minor awards like leather, food, maybe some silver would be good.

I think the only thing that really needs to be removed is the Massive armour, because of the enchants.

Judging by how good the Massive armor is, I'm acting as if other tier 4 and 5 rewards are similar to them, and therefore should be removed as well. If someone could provide a accurate list of what the rewards truly are, I'll modify my suggestion accordingly.

What I received:
First time voting I got a Massive Chest Plate, an emerald, and some nether quartz.

I like the idea for incentives to voting. I do think the rewards are too nice for the amount of work it took.

I think that the Massive Armor is too easy to obtain considering it's power. The good thing about it though is that it cannot be repaired and thus is only for emergencies (unless you are really lucky). I would rather see it moved to a 6th Tier (1% or less if possible) than seeing it removed. Maybe replacing the Tier 5 armor with a similar enchanted Iron armor for the non-prems is a good way to go? (Unless there already is one)

So you dislike nicer prizes but also dislike only minor prizes?

The biggest thing I see that should be removed is the Massive armor, if only because non premiums can't wear it. Everything else I would have to make a detailed list and think about, but the Massive armor is the biggest issue, and the one that matters.

He has a point.

For you there must be some middle ground but for other people with different opinions that middle ground is very different. Anything you say on the subject people will disagree with you. If massive went with exactly what you thought was right, chances are a lot of others (not all) would be ticked, I know most of you said you agreed with him but think about it.

What is your middle ground, and can you imagine someone else wanting something very different? Everyone has reasons for wanting something new, and if the admins listen to you they have to listen to everybody, and no one can please everyone.

So leave them alone and let them decide.

Anyways, I'm full on it, honestly, I think that the Quality Sword and such is pretty neat and all, granted it's only Sharp II and Unbreaking I, it's certainly an upgrade for the nooblets, and the Pink Pyjamas obviously are so overpowered that the Massivearmour looks weak compared to it {{In all words, the Pink PJ's is a nice touch :P}}, but the Massivearmour really DOES OP the premiums. The Non-premiums can only use a Max of the Iron Prot IV and Unbreaking III, which is hard enough to get, but now the Premiums can use armour that could defend them and as Mecharic said before in his post on another thread like this, it literally would allow people from factions like Alamut or Ghiscari to walk the battlefield, killing enemies at their leisure, and annihilating people in the Prot IV DIAMOND armour if they fight hard enough. If even small factions that only RP got hold of it, the premiums, even if lowly McMMo skilled, would be pretty darn terrifying in the field. All you really need is a single Cowboys1919 with that armour and his fishing of mass destruction, pretty sure he'd be getting his fishing to 20,000 in your ponds, cause no one would bother coming to aid or attack because of the defence he has. I for one say yesh.

Bsavs I would be annoyed at any voting system that uses incentives, which you would have understood if you read what I wrote directly after what you quoted.

Update- After I learned what most of the higher tier rewards are, I have changed my opinion about completely wiping out tiers 4 and 5. The pink pajama thingies are perfectly fine, along with the quality iron tools in tier 3 that I mentioned. However, I think that the Ancient Rie bow should be removed along with the Massive armor.

Why it's not even close to being a "God bow"

I believe it has an infinity enchantment on it. If they removed that enchantment I'd be perfectly happy with the bow, otherwise I still think its a bit too powerful. Of course I may be mistaken which in that case the bow is fine as it is.

Eh, in my opinion it makes the bow a lot more useful or powerful than it should be.

Arrows aren't worth much and mcmmo has an ability that lets you use them less often already you're kinda going a bit too gung-hoe over this.
