❮History❯
"The Holy Regalian Synod has long been the beating heart of Unionist Spirituality both in the Archipelago and abroad, serving to guide the faithful through times of uncertainty while offering clarity on the mysteries of the Imperial Spirit. Now, more than ever, the clergy must shepherd the faithful of Union, for while we have received openly the gifts of the Spirit, the journey to Paradise will yet be long and arduous. But we are blessed, we faithful, for the Spirit resides in us all, and the Spirit shall usher us into new golden era where wanton pleasures are cast away and the suffering of all peoples shall be abated by the preeminence of its divine being. Keep to your faith, and do not doubt the wisdom of the Spirit, and you shall be rewarded in time as have we all." - Exarch Balthazar the Fourth's address to the Regalian people following the dissolution of the Imperial Crown.
The Unionist Divine is the recognized successor to the legacy of the Sancella of Union, formed in the mending of the Etosian and Vultarin Schisms during the early months of 306 AC by the Holy Regalian Synod through the proclamation of Imperial Dragon Lineage and the mending of age-old wounds that was facilitated by such. With the abdication of Emperor Cedromar I Kade-Alltmeister and providence through the investiture of the Imperial Spirit into the Unionist faithful as a whole, the Holy Regalian Synod remains as the foremost authority on the Unionist Faith within the Archipelago. However, with the sudden and abrupt change brought on by an empty throne for the first time in three centuries, reform has been forced upon the Divine, and through the acquisition of powers spiritual granted through the Spirit's divinity, the brazen and vocal nature of the Aspect Cults has brought them to the forefront of church politics. With many of the Synod Reverends taking up such dogmas, their familiarity lies in the Themai that are now all but defunct for their doctrines were largely vested into the theology of the Spirit and its vessel.
Absorbing the Crimson Inquisition formally into the ranks of the Unionist Divine to establish the Inquisition of Holy Leomar following the Emperor's final address, the Synod looks now to the future, and to ensuring that the proclamations of Cedromar the Last are not resisted against. Poised to strike out against dissent within the Crown Isle, a hardline stance has been proclaimed and those who would reject the Spirit into their hearts, who would deny its blessing upon the Unionist faithful and naysay against an empty throne shall be made to kneel, and to accept the new order - else they are driven into the shadows, to cower before the burden of holy mandate that the faith shoulders.

❮Organization structure❯
The High Reverend is the ultimate religious authority in the boundaries of the Crown Isle with the departure of the Emperor as the religious head of the Unionist Faith. His legitimacy is reinforced by the acceptance of his peers through a vote, and as a result, presides over his fellow reverends, serving as the guiding hand for the Synod and its subsidiary organizations. The High Reverend can be voted out by quorum of the Synod, however, the incumbent High Reverend Balthazar IV has been vested with executive authority and allowed an indefinite tenure in that he cannot be voted out through normal means, which was confirmed by a unanimous vote of the Synod.
MINISTER OF THE DIVINE'S PILLARS
The Ministers of the Divine's Pillars are the various administrators who oversee organizations which fall into the domain of the Unionist Divine. Generally speaking, these men and women are Reverends, however, they can at times be laymen should an organization operated by individuals outside the clergy fall under the direct authority of the Synod. Ministers of the Divine's Pillars oversee organizations such as the Celestials of Mercy, Crystal Maidens, Virgin Blades and so on. The only organization currently active which falls under this is the Order of the Guiding Eye. If they are a Reverend also, their word generally carries more weight in the Synod.
REVEREND
Reverends of the Unionist Divine form the upper rungs of the clerical hierarchy, each having a seat upon the Holy Regalian Synod, where their voices may be heard and they have a direct impact upon the political and spiritual stances espoused by the Unionist Divine. A Reverend of the Synod maintains a Verwaltung outside of the Regalian Crown Isle, and will generally conduct public relations affairs on behalf of the Synod for nobles who are locally relevant to their diocese. With the introduction of the aspect cults into the Unionist Faith, the Reverends of the Synod have formed four blocs which coincide with their chosen aspect and the religious dogma which they adhere to and has already been a cause for conflict and competition within the Divine - though not unfamiliar to the internal struggles between the various Themai in the past.
REVEREND OF UNION
Reverends of Union are the moderate faction within the Synod, consisting of Reverends who adhere to the mainstream denomination of Unionism and harbor no affiliation with the Aspect Cults. Generally speaking, their opinions on policy vary wildly as Reverends of Union are seen more so as independents than an actual faction within the Synod. Many Reverends of Union are former adherents to the Themai of Thal, Ultor and Illia.
REVEREND OF DOMINATION
Reverends of Domination follow the Aspect of Domination, which professes the belief that Unionism should assimilate, adapt and dominate the best abilities of other races in order to progress the Unionist Faith. They are typically more tolerant of nonhumans and their active integration into the faith. Many Reverends of Domination are former adherents to the Themai of Horopados.
REVEREND OF KNOWLEDGE
Reverends of Knowledge follow the Aspect of Knowledge, which professes the belief that Unionism will dominate other false religions through the merit of the wit, cunning and intellect of the faithful and that the other races and faiths are disadvantaged by feeble minds and an inability to compete with the mental prowess of the faithful. Many Reverends of Domination are former adherents to the Themai of Tharran.
REVEREND OF DIVINITY
Reverends of Divinity follow the Aspect of Divinity, which professes the belief that Unionism must overcome the faithless through fiery zeal, that heresy and dissent must be burnt out wherever it is found and the nonbelievers who scorn Unionism must be made to convert, or to serve regardless. They are generally much more firebrand and divisive than any of their fellow Reverends, but stand as a majority within Inquisitorial elements of the Divine as a result. Many Reverends of Domination are former adherents to the Themai of Elene.

The Helerian Commander oversees the personal retinue of Lancyons entrusted with the protection of the Reverends of the Synod. Typically picked out of more veteran, senior Helerians or personal favorites of the High Reverend, the Helerian Commander commands prestige within the Divine and his authority extends over other laymen in service to the Unionist Divine. The current Helerian Commander is Albus du Pont, who also leads the Inquisition of Holy Leomar and acts as a chief liaison for the Office of the High Reverend. As a result, those under him fall under the authority of the Inquisitor so long as he presides over his office.
CURATE
Curates are the backbone of the Unionist Divine. They are preachers, attendants, missionaries, and fulfill a plethora of other duties in their service to the Reverends. Curates are given the privilege to sit in on meetings of the Synod, however, they do not have the right to a vote. They are generally found in the service of a specific Reverend, though defer to all Reverends of the Synod when in the Crown Isle.
