From the Office of the Lord Chancellor, Constanze du Brierüst

July 22nd, 307 A.C.

The following is a set of amendments to the previously-enacted bylaws relating to the ways in which one can be charged with treason against the Empire and the punitive measures taken thereafter. These amendments entirely replace the previous legislation, and the prior announcement should be considered entirely errata.

I. Definitions of Treason
i. To conspire against the Empire, its administration, secretaries, the Imperial Family or the Emperor himself, is treason. Conspiring is seen as:
a. Working with Foreign Powers to bring harm or instability in any fashion
b. Illicitly plotting to bring harm or instability through domestic mediums that are not legal methods of challenging offices, declaring war upon a noble, or vocalizing criticism
ii. To assault or murder a member of the Imperial administration, a secretary, a member of the Imperial Family or the Emperor himself, is treason.
II. Punishments for Treason
i. Treason is punished by a week's incarceration, where then a trialing is held to determine further punitive measures by the Justiciar holding trial. This sentencing may include more incarceration, fines, or forfeiture of material assets.
ii. Treason is punishable by forfeiture of any or all titles and positions in the case that an official or noble of the Empire is deemed treasonous.
iii. Treason may be deemed high treason in the case of a severe enough wrongdoing, or murder.
i. The Lord Chancellor and Lord Commander must both grant a vote of yea, nay, or abstinence when a case is brought forward for escalation to high treason.
ii. High Treason is punishable by death.
Furthermore, any and all open cases of treason across the Empire are to be hereby compared with these new amendments. If the criminal qualifications are still met, then their cases will continue. If not, then they are to be liberated. Records should not be cleared.

Spirit Protect,
Constanze du Brierüst

Elm Underbridge hastily read over the amendment his previously pleased face reverting to one of annoyance saying "Well I guess she can't handle criticism then poor thing" in a mocking tone of voice reserved for those who felt considerable disdain. "I suppose she had to back down before someone neutered her a shame really" giving a half hearted laugh before dropping the paper returning to his kaffee his perpetually tired state not benefitting his mood.

"Good work, sister," Milena du Brierüst hums as she eyes over the treatise. "Hopefully now they won't use your laws for false accusation."

At this law amendment, word finally broke from The Beggar, a notice making its way around through loyalists and onto boards.

"I did not work with a foreign power, nor did I conspire against the offices. I spoke highly of Archduke Delmotte in my defense against some of his charges, and revealed my cards to openly admit to not actually bearing anything of substantial threat when approaching his estate to speak. I was mislead by truly treasonous dogs amidst the Good Company into believing Delmotte had a hand in my capture, and for taking these accusations at any value, I apologize humbly once more. I do not criticize the systems or offices which have lead to my current position, only against those that sought to abuse it. I have not committed treason, and my subordinates most certainly have not, having not been involved in any of the actions or statements that lead to my charges under the older laws.

I served this Empire dutifully for years in armed service. I seek proper, legal reevaluation of the charges laid at my feet and those of my group, and the bounty there-in. I have faith in this government and Empire, which I lost limb fighting to defend.

He stared blankly as he read the new ammendments. "Well then." He took a sip from his bamboo flask. "As long as I don't do anything more stupid, I'll be fine, perhaps."

Aymer glanced at the amendments the Lord Chancellor set in place, shaking his head as his feet remained idle in place. As he looked at the missive, he would smell the strong smell of distaste. A grimace clung to his features as he moved away into the evil sterilized winds. The Nelfin could only think to himself bitter hope and an ending where those in power did not play with people like he know the children play with dolls. As he moved along, he put up his hood and strode into the darkness, ready to bewitch.

Fen'nan would read this over and let out an large sigh, throwing up here arms with a grin. "Bloody void—THANK YOU. Friggin finally. Shite."

Rosana simply looked annoyed. "Well, now they just want more reasons for people to fucking be in Greygate. I miss Ellador at this point."

Faerith would simply burn it without a word other then. "Fuck."

Athena simply smiled. "Finally - this should do Regalia some good."

"Some clarification on the article mentioning criticism. Law can be such a fluid and skewed thing..." -remarked the old man, snowy brows knitting in a wrinkled confusion at the arising concerns.
