So,
I've tried, from the very beginning, to be 'nice'.

By that, I mean, The first person I killed for no reason, just as a bandit style move... I felt so sorry for, that I gave their stuff, and more, back, & sincerely apologised for being a bit of d***. (Please excuse my French)

I give free stuff, food, items in general, to those I think would benefit from them.
I mean, the other day there, someone wanted to trade something, that I Really didn't want to trade... so I ended up giving them the item they wanted for free ^_^

Now. What I hate. Is the fact that, despite my efforts to make friends, and be nice to everyone I can, I am still... how would you say... 'Bullied' for lack of better word.
By that I mean this:
I was fishing, far far away from anyone, in my nice peaceful house, on an island.
and I go afk for a bit... come back, this guy's killed me. (Lets call him Fred)
Now, Fred starts off kinda nice. He comes back, gives me my stuff since I was afk, and didn't really think I'd get attacked in the middle of nowhere. He says he needs a place to stay, so I go make Fred a bed (rhyme :D) and give him shelter for the night. I tell him of my high fishing level, and repair, and offer him free gear. We even talk about starting a faction together :D and then... he's in my safe room trying to steal from me -_- He manages to win the fight... after dying, spawning, and killing me on my half a heart... He then makes his escape... and taunts me. Saying 'I love my new Bow :D Thanks alot :)' (Did I mention it was a god bow he took? It had everything aside from unb III) so. after ages of trying to get him to see reason, he trades it for a really good sword I had... (he tried to scam me too -_- only stopped because I threatened with screenshots and ban request ¬_¬) aaaaand... now I'm scared to go fishing alone in my house.

I'm also sick of Fully armed and armoured premiums walking into my shop and trying to kill me! It's just unfair. |-(

Not going to name names here. That's not what this is for. I just want to know if there are any of you out there, who are half decent :l

I am also not trying to make myself look good by posting this, I'm only saying, I'm trying to be nice to people, and if you see me, try not to attack me on sight... maybe talk to me, or send me a friend request if you're trying to make friends with people :)

I'll admit I've not exactly got a halo above my head myself.
So don't go posting "stfu u killed me that one time after I tried to kill you and wouldn't give me my stuff back!!!" because I know I've done stuff like that. and if anyone's got a grudge against me, sorry kay'?

Also, I'd like to thank anyone who takes this lightly, and doesn't go hunting me down for saying something they didn't agree with |-(
 
While I find this funny, this is why I go fully prepared for an attack when i do things like fishing.
That said, anyone who flames or rages against you for this post really has no point. This is a funny post, and if people take it seriously, maybe they should stop, and take another look at their life.
 
Same to me in real life. I do what I can, But since I seem so different, people make fun of me because of it. In roleplay I'm bad.
 
At last someone to start off a topis about rude and ignorant people, slaying others for fun and items, instead of keeping to the RP the slightest. Not even enough to say "Hello", "Greetings" or "Nice outfit" (just exsamples). It can't be that hard to wait for a reason to kill people... Gosh...

The one time I killed someone simply for killing sake, I gave all their items back and never killed them again.

Everything else is RP.

I agree. I always do my best to be nice to people on this server or anywhere in general. I always help noobs at spawn and if I hit or kill someone new or with a lower power level then me I usually give them something to make up for it and give them there stuff back. The two motos I live by are "do unto other as you would have them do unto you" and "forgive and forget". So if I am nice to you I expect you to be nice back to me. And if you're not you have two chances to fail then I start acting how you act to me. This mostly only applys when raiders raid my fac and demand a surrender tribute. I refuses to give them anything because im not going to give someone who wants to kill me shit. I don't like being pushed around and I wont tolerate it, though I forgive people easily so I cant stay mad at them for long. Anywho if you're nice to me I'll treat you like a king xD Im that guy who goes up to random people and throws dia blocks at them xD Im a kiss up pretty much =P
 
Though i find it highly wierd to be posting something here:

Im the kind of person that goes around recruiting people that have nothing to give, making me go poor. That means new people, and I make them into great RPers too :)

Its nice to be nice.
 
It's good to be nice, but you're always going to be messed up by douchebags if you give them an opportunity. It's better to be nice without putting yourself at risk. Giving some person you just met access to your chests (I think that's what happened) is wayyy too trusting in my opinion. :3
 
I understand your problem. Me, I do almost everything I do in the same area, Mirk swamp, (which is rather nice and secluded) within my faction territory. I almost haven't been bothered at all. I have been transporting horses across Ithania, and gotten killed while crossing a strip of land, which is similar. I personally am nice to anyone, (or indifferent) but do not expect it from others. It has worked for me so far.
 
I usually try to be nice, but cautious as well, because...well, its the internet! It helps if you keep this fact in your mind. There are people on the internet who honestly do not care about you. They don't care who's feelings they hurt or how badly they hurt that person's feelings, mostly due to the fact that most contact on the internet is not face to face, and most of the time you don't even hear someone's voice. On the bright side, the majority of the people are really quite agreeable on the internet. That's my 2 cents.
 
What was this players name? Real name, some needs to be punished. Normally I wouldn't care but this guy sounds like a real ass.

Is it un-rp to roleplay as a bad guy?

At first I thought this thread was just about generally how you treat people. In which case I was going to reply that I generally try to be nice in first encounters, but I have very little patience for stupidity or ignorance.

In terms of killing people, I roleplay as a nice guy, so I don't.

However, Jack....

stfu u killed me that one time after I tried to kill you and wouldn't give me my stuff back!!!

Probably TerrariaUK... Just saying... sorry, but I'm really not making an enemy here, he already attacks me on sight (facepalm)
 
Join a faction, (If you aren't already in one) and also, make a little closed fishing pond that no one can get in!
 
When I started to play on this server I was somehow able to build myself a house and harvest crops before I starved to death.
Sometime later a random player walked by and asked me, if I had something to eat. I remembered that I barely survived on my first day, gave him the last bread I had in my inventory and told him, that I had more in my house. We walked to said place, where he immediately started to attack me. I died and he took all my stuff.
Some days later a similar situation happened and since then I never gave anyone bread again - No one killed me since this day, so there must be something in this bread, that makes people angry at me ;__;
 
Well, in rp a few days ago, someone tried to poison me with bread :( I didn't eat it... but he said it was airborn...

Yup. the Bread is airborn.

I once met a newbie in ellador who was terrified of me(i was a prem in full diamond that approached him from behind)
I decided to give him some food and followed him around a bit to make sure he made it to wherever he was going.
Eventually we ran into an unarmed vampire. He acted friendly at first, but then right as my friend turned around the vampire went full bloodlust. He killed the noob, took his stuff and started to run. Luckily for my new friend I had a stick on me and decided to give chase. I chased him for 5 minutes before i was able to catch up with him. I ran him through with the stick and returned my friends inventory.(he didn't have anything relatively valuable) After i killed him I got a death threat from the vampire saying he would get me back. (I scoffed at his threat) Never heard from the vamp again or my friend either. I feel like i did a good deed that day.:)
 
I am nice. I invite anyone who asks and isn't already marked as a griefer (and I'll even invite griefers but I won't give them as much access as I would a noob). I allow my members to build as they please (though I do have limits, no sh*tty cobble boxes) and I don't enforce many rules. I try to teach my members various things needed in order to survive without relying on superior weapons or pvp skills like some rude and unmentionable individuals. I believe that my purpose on Massivecraft is to support the server and ensure that new members find it an enjoyable server to play on.
 
i like to help people and like people who help because when i first got on the server i was starving in kelmoria and this guy (i dont remember his name sadface) gave me lots-o-taters a strength 2 potion a sword and some armor i really wish i could remember who it was so i could pay them back this was 4 months ago :P

See, after he made me give a god sword for my bow back, ( and after trying to scam me, and failing :P) he threatened that "now that I know where you live, I'll be back" So... I can't go fishing in my own home now :(
I told him it's against the rules to make someone pay for their stuff back, then kill them again and take it.
So he said he'll just tell all the evil/bandit factions my co-ords, and send a few assassins my way... (facepalm)

So it's funny that people are offering to go find him out of kindness, since he's offering people money to go find me :D

But I'll not put his name up, I don't want to be that way about what happened... unless he does come back... then his name, along with a bounty will be up >_<

I just want to say I'm really surprised at how well this forum was received :)
I was expecting comments like: 'stfu you killed me that one time...' and 'P*ssy, no one cares if you were killed by whatever!'
but no, a lot of the comments and people have been nice :) Thanks ^_^

If you're looking for a friend ingame, my minecraft name is the same as my Forum name, but with underscores instead of spaces. :) send me a mail or something :3
 
A lot of the community are assholes. I can name 20 off the top of my head but that will never change. Even some admins like to make fun of a lot of the active members witch is one of the most hated thing on the server in my opinion. Assholes will be assholes. -Cough-

I mean: it's a pvp/rp Server after all and it was pretty much what I expected. But I must admit that I was a bit disappointed that they killed me while I was nice to them. :/

But that won't stop me from being nice and I hope such things don't stop anyone else. :)
