From the desk of His Grace, Duke Cillian Mac Conall, Minister of the Whip
26th April, 309AC | Dardonnagh Estate | Regalia
The Ministry of the Whip operates as an assurance that Government Ministers and the Lord Chancellor are operating to the degree expected of them in matters of state and government. Oversight and scrutiny help the government to refine it's internal legislation and policy, thus the insurance that Ministers are active and competent in their duties is of vital importance to this state. Citizens of the Empire, be they commoner or noble are encouraged to pen word to the Whip Minister to forward any concerns, suggestions or complaints they have for individual ministers, or government policy at large. Letters will be recorded and if it is appropriate, a meeting will be offered.
On the subject of Whip Decrees, postings will be made from the office of the Whip dedicated to matters each Minister is expected to address in the coming month, alongside advertising any openings in internal job positions. The content of these decrees will be on public record, free to access for all.
It is the purpose of this Ministry to ensure the cohesion of Government, that Ministers are able to communicate and work effectively alongside each other and that ultimately, oversight in terms of Ministerial activity in general or in regard to specific situations is maintained. Letters from the public will be passed on to the Lord Chancellor and / or the relevant Ministers when required, allowing the public to offer their commendations and criticisms where it be due.
Ministerial Rights
The Lord Chancellor has bestowed a number of rights upon the Ministry of the Whip in order to allow the office to conduct effective oversight and encourage cohesion between Ministers. The rights are as follows:
