The House de Santigo.

The Santigo family comes from humble beginnings. Originating in a small fortified port town in the Kingdom of Lusits, Santigo, the small fishing family flourished. Growing rapidly as a proponent of local stewardship and leadership, the family has always known greatness in it's albeit almost menial ways.
The family, for the most part, was quite unknown to the greater world for quite some time. Until relatively recent years, the majority of this longstanding line of Lusitsians had not left the kingdom, and the profitable business of smuggling had been enough to tide them over, though, this didn't continue forever--through a brash campaign as privateers the House was offered a small Barony in Bragacao. The family has grown in both fame and infamy in all sorts of corners of the world, first in the Imperial Navy, then rumoured for their daring attacks as pirates, and in a rather uncouth turn of events as players in the Regalian political scene. That is before the House was unfortunately pushed out of Avanca by an array of smaller political efforts. Without local support of other Lords as a result of their rather unruly reputation in the City the family was forced to flee their lands in Bragacao. The House Santigo, without the political or economic firepower to hit back against the merchants of the land was forced to withdraw.
Although they no longer have the influence they once had, the Santigo family still seem to have a fair sum of money, many claim that it's a result of piracy and smuggling, as well as other illicit trades... at least if you would believe tearoom gossip.
Regarding Heraldry.
The House Banner and Coat of Arms of the Santigo family is split into four quadrants with an alternating black and crimson pattern. Atop the shield or banner is a brazen bull head. Different varieties of the heraldry are accompanied by different things but the shield is always cradled by a pair of roses, a pair of cutlasses and two mermaids - it is not uncommon to see different designs with other nautical iconographies like anchors, swallows or north stars.
