The Haeksen are based of Anglian Folklore where one of the major aspects of the Old Gods faith that still remains till this day is the principle of Haeksen, or witches. Anglian witches however are considered good beings that scare away evil spirits and demons. This makes the Haeksen a group open for all to join no matter what race, occupation or social status. The members often clad in what looks like Anglian levy equipment. This 'group' it located in old town and follows a almost military hierarchy led by the 'Commaendant der strijdkrachten' The main goal of the Haeksen is to serve and protect the people of Old-town, Providing care to those in need. But also serving in a self-proclaimed judicial position where people who commit crimes against old town will stand trial if the Haeksen get their hands on any of these offenders. The current Commaendant is "Alexander von Haeks" -- Any application for this 'group' can be done either by coming into in char contact with the 'group' or by applying on the forums. (See the application format below).

26th of September 306AC - In the early morning as the first church bells rang throughout the city of Regalia three figures clad in mix of makeshift armor and padded clothing made their way through the sewer entrance the sound of metal chains rattling behind them. The figure walking centered between the other two having his long sword drawn holding it in his right hand. His accomplice to the right having a bag of corn tossed over his shoulder. The one to his left holding a chain occasionally tugging the chain as a man bound by these same chains followed the three into the slums. Resisting wherever he could.

The three would stop at the entrance blocking the way into the Emporium as the center figure would turn around he'd look over at the accomplice to his left saying; "Today we shall serve the people of Old-town justice. Friend" As he'd point over at the bound figure he'd exclaim "You lad. Yes- you stand accused. Of crimes against all these people here in old town!" A small crowd would start to gather around the scene that was playing out in front of the emporium as the accomplice carrying the bag of corn tossed the bag onto the ground - walking over to the bound figure and forcing him on his knees. The center figure would start to talk once more walking in circles with his sword drawn as he did so. "People of Old town!-" he'd then turn back to the kneeling figure pointing at him "This man is Ludwig Kavorski- a /smuggler/ so to say. One that was entrusted by us to bring supplies into old town during this damned famine!" the middle figure holding his sword pointing it at Ludwig would then exclaim "But - this /Fine/ lad Kavorski here! Has been taking this food for himself!- Stealing from us, Stealing from you, Stealing from old town! -- And for that. Today Ludwig Kavorski stands accused of crimes against the people of old town. And is found guilty of these crimes to this the punishment is death.

The center figure, would raise his sword aligning it with Ludwig's neck. As he'd raise the sword he'd mutter "I shall take no joy out of this Ludwig" as the long sword came down Ludwig's head dropped onto the ground. Body following after. After doing so the center figure would be swift in sheathing his bloodied sword. Walking over to the bag of corn and tossing it over his shoulder he'd then say "This is one from many bags we have recovered from our friend in the afterlife Kavorski!" He'd then look into the crowd walking over to a collection of kids who where standing front row. Crouching down and handing them the bag of corn. Rising to his feet shortly after exclaiming "For those who have waited for justice!- Wait no more, We are here!" As the center figure would turn around after saying so he'd exclaim "Bring it in lads!" at this note two figures carrying over sized backpacks would enter through the main slum entrance tossing these backpacks onto the ground as soon as they got close to the crowd. "The food!- It is yours, it belongs to Old town!"

Hello! I hope you found the introduction (Or tl:dr) to be a good read! The Haeksen is a crime organisation but it has a twist as it mostly functions around serving 'Justice' to the people of old-town(the slums) The Haeksen are a group of mostly ex-military men but is open to any race. It is mainly jacobinist but still believes in the need of a hierarchy. They believe in equality of start not equality of end results. We are currently looking far and wide for members with or without combat proficiency as we are also open to scholars, smithies, alchemists, medics anything you can think of really. One of the main goals that the Haeksen have is to assist the people of Old-town. Mainly by providing them with food and medical care but also with warm clothing and a loose form of 'the law' that is mostly based around offenders committing crimes against all of old-town.

((Specific tasks that are tied to certain ranks example of this being the Adjudants drilling the Soldaten and Searganten might change at a later date))

Commaendant der Strijdkrachten

The Commaendant der Strijdkrachten is the current leader of the Haeksen. For ease of reference often just called Commaendant outranks any other member and can overrule any order given by lesser ranked individuals. The Commaendant is also tasked with managing Old-town affairs and the relationship between the Haeksen and other gangs.

Kapitein
The number of active Kapiteinen can range but is never less then two or more then four. The members ranked as Kapitein are allowed to deal in lesser Old-Town affairs managing relations with other gangs with the Commaendants permission. The role of Kapitein are often given a business to run for the Haeksen and have the ability to command any of a lesser rank.

Lieutenant

No longer allowed to meddle in any affairs on behalf of the Haeksen are the Lieutenants. The Lieutenants have no cap. On the amount of Lieutenants that can be active at one time. Lieutenants are often tasked with assisting the Kapiteinen in their tasks but are allowed to patrol Old-town looking for any who commits crime against old-town for this they can call on any who holds a lower rank then themselves to aid them with this patrolling.

Adjudant
Adjudants are tasked mostly with recruiting and drilling both Soldaten and Searganten. Adjudants are often tasked with managing smaller operations. If a Adjudant proves himself to be a valuable asset they will move up to the role of Lieutenant where they can be tasked with larger 'operations' to preform for the cause. The Adjucant is also allowed to call for patrols around old town.

Seargant
The rank of Seargant is the first place that Soldaten are moved up to as they prove their alliance to the Haeksen. Searganten are often tasked with recruiting more Soldaten and upkeep the morale of the lesser trained soldaten.

Soldaat
New members almost always start their career being a member of the Haeksen as a Soldaat. A Soldaat is the Anglian term for Soldier. These members are often tasked by higher ranking officials to perform specific tasks that play a role in the bigger picture.

((Honorary titles hold no real power as it is a 'decorative' title (The only two honorary titles that hold power are the beul and the rechter) . The Title holder however will get a special way to be addressed and tend to be the more prominent members of the Haeksen))

Heer
The title of "Heer" roughly translated to gentlemen in common is often earned by those who have proved to be chivalrous figures. This title is often earned from either preforming a task at great proficiency or can be gained over time by showing the chivalrous nature of your character.

Meester
The title of "Meester" roughly translated to master in common is often earned by scholars that prove to be of great value to the Haeksen. This title is often earned by those that prove to be both smart with their words. And their actions this title can only be earned by providing a great amount of knowledge skill to the Haeksen .

Grootmeester
The title of "Grootmeester" roughly translated to grandmaster in common is only earned by the most upper scholars. Ones that prove to be true experts in their field of work. For one to become a Grootmeester one must first become a Meester.

Beul
The title of "Beul" roughly translated to executioner in common is the one of two honorary titles that hold actual power. As only a Beul may read and preform the punishment from certain verdicts. To acquire this rank one must first be a outstanding member of the Haeksen with a reputation for being just. Then they must swear that they will take no enjoyment out of the executions of those who perform crimes against the people of Old-town. Only then a Haeksen member can obtain the honorary title of Beul. Note; that once a member holds the role of Beul the same member cant also hold the role of rechter.

Rechter

The title of "Rechter" roughly translated to judge in common is one of two honorary titles that hold actual power. A Rechter is tasked with writing and researching verdicts handing them to Beuls when one is found guilty. Rechters are also tasked with pardoning those falsely accused of crimes. Rechters can also give out bounties for the capture of specific criminals that refuse to stand trail and prove difficult to find. Rechters are often handpicked by the Commaendant and need to posses some knowledge skill. Note; that once a member holds the role of Rechter the same member cant also hold the role of beul.
