The Guiding Eye of Heron Saint Manfried
Reverend-Minister Aelfric Harhold
History ~
The first iteration of the Guiding Eye was founded upon the 4th of April, 306ac by the Boyar of Derevna-Moktoboy, Patriarch Kostolansky. It was charged with both converting the ignorant peoples of false faiths as well as the discovery of artifacts of Unionist origin. It had success, however after a fatal crash upon the seas, the Order was left without a leader and it was soon taken over by Reverend and Regent of the Order, Klaus Kehlen.
The new Regent of the Order lead local conversion efforts in order to spread the word of the Spirit, however he soon resigned from the position.
Soon after, Reverend Aelfric Harhold, now Reverend-Minister of the Order took leadership, however the Order soon went defunct with little for it to do. However, with the Synod finding a new High Reverend after Reverend Harhold's resignation from the high pontifical position, he was soon returned to the seat of Reverend-Minister.
However, the Order is not the same and is rebranded as the Guiding Eye of Heron Saint Manfried with its Patron Heron Manfried the Pious, Heron of Priests, symbolizing the faith and purity of the order and its willingness to spread the word of Unionism as any holy man would.
Duty and Goals ~
With the rebranding of the Order it shares many of the same duties and goals, however they shall be restated with new ones being introduced. The main responsibility of the Order is to convert the populations of false faiths such as the Oldt Fayth, Old Gods, Faith of Estel, and other such legal religions non-violently and generally promote the word of the Spirit and Unionism as a whole.
While the Reverend-Minister will certainly spread the Order's wings and teach the people of the far reaches of Aloria if found needed by he, the Order, or the Synod, the Reverend-Minister wishes to mainly focus upon the Holy City itself, finding it troublesome that much of the population does not believe in the Spirit's faith. While he does show respect for the legality of certain faiths, he wishes to peacefully convert those to the true faith so that they may be offered salvation by the Spirit's hand and redeem themselves.
While making conversion efforts in person, the order also wishes to post general Unionist papers and fliers to remind the population of the city and Archipelago at large of the Spirit's word. Something which began under the former High Reverend's tenure were Reverential Addresses which shall be making a return under the Reverend through the Guiding Eye of St. Manfried.
Recruitment ~
The Order welcomes all faithful Unionists who would like to further the Great Way and help others to join the Spirit in credence and virtue. They shall be expected to join their brothers and sisters on conversion missions within the city and must be prepared to travel afar for periods of time in order to convert populations of foreign lands. Only Unionist First Class Citizens will be accepted with consideration made for other classes yet they are less likely to be accepted. The Order under no circumstances will ever accept Kathar into their ranks and Manathar will likely not be accepted due to the fact that their service to the Empire as specified in the Lord Chancellor's proclamation should be their main concern and the Order disapproves of any Manathar not in service to the Imperial Realm. Ranks of the Order ~
Reverend-Minister - The Reverend-Minister of the Guiding Eye of St. Manfried is the overall leader of the order and shall direct the missionaries and join them on missions at times. This position is locked to Reverend Aelfric Harhold until his resignation, removal, or loss of life. | @_GoldWolf_ |
Holy Men - These are the Reverends and Curates that have joined the Order. While they do not necessarily hold any very special privileges, their word obviously has more weight in the organization then the average missionary due to their vast experience in seminary and the like. It also includes Nonnateans if they decide to join. | @KK134 |
High Missionaries - Extremely dedicated members of the Order who have shown great virtue and commitment to the Spirit's word through various conversion missions and the respective leadership qualities. They can not interpret the Spirit's teachings however and only read them directly.
Missionaries - The common missionary who has joined the Order. They shall be given full permissions within the organization and can go on conversion missions and spread the word of the Spirit directly with no interpretation as such is the right of a Reverend. Reports of Progress ~
Each time the Guiding Eye makes a good amount of movement along the path to Paradise, the progress made by the Guiding Eye will be reviewed and published for all to see. Whether it be one man converted or ten, all movements along the Great Way are important. If none have been converted at that time or other such deeds been done however, there will be no report posted upon the boards of the Empire.
