Alms Ministry October Report:
It is the Alms Ministry's desire to promote trust and transparency with matters concerning state funds, public donations, and community projects. Therefore, at the end of each month, a publicly available report of the ministry's doings will be available for review.
Little can be said, which is not already weighing on our minds, and in our hearts. Foremost, it is with deepest condolences for the lost that I extend our reach toward the bereaved families of our city. And it is in the spirit of those voices who are no longer with us, that we will continue to rebuild, reconnect, and support one another, now more than ever.
To reiterate what was said in last month's decree, large-scale reconstruction efforts will be channeled by the proper institutions, with careful financial planning and bureaucracy-approved contractors. However, initiatives of the Alms Ministry will continue to be led by members of our community and Alms staff, volunteers, and patrons, and will focus on the healing of our city's wounds. I am, as always, open and happy to hear of any ideas for future events, and I encourage my fellow Regalians, high born or low, to join us.

Officer of Commoners Rights:
The right to host "Commoner's Assemblies" wherein citizens may proclaim concerns and needs.
The right to access Violet Order records for investigations into matters raised in Commoner Assemblies.
Secretary Expectations:
To be available to the Officer for assistance.
To temporarily stand in for the Officer, should they be unable to attend an Assembly on short notice.
The Officer of Commoners will be expected to publish an updated decree and schedule a Commoner's Assembly in a timely fashion.

Initiative 19: Patron Galas
Mission statement: Encourage donations and thank our regular patrons through exclusive parties and gifts.
Status: In Progress
Plan:
- Put out the word for unique crafters of luxury items, who would like to support the Alms by crafting exclusive patron-gifts.
- Find businesses to cater events.
- Advertise the perks of Patronage to the Nobility.
- Plan and host regular Patron Galas, where exclusive gifts will be given and raffled off to our supporters.
OOC Note:
Funny money only. Donating IC regals (not wealth tokens) to the Alms Ministry will NOT affect the financial spreadsheet. This is an IC interaction, wherein your family gives IC regals, to attend a fancy party. It's also how I want to show off characters with high artisan skills and give nobility a chance to engage with the Alms in a way that doesn't feel like taking food from poor people. It's a chance for the Volunteers to work somewhere, and everyone to virtue signal and talk about Archipelago ideas. Since this is all entirely for the benefit of rp, absolutely no change to the financial spreadsheet will come from promising high donations. Assume that a modest donation is the price of entry, and part of the profit of these donations goes to funding the party itself, like any other Charity Gala.

- Find friendly hosts to organize outreach programs (such as cooking, sewing, teaching, or etc), to encourage the community to bond through service.

Want to host a little outreach thing? Teach people to sew blankets for orphans, write poems for dead people, bake fritters, write nice letters to the guards, extoll the values of serving a knightly order, etc? Anything you can think of can be an excuse to collect some folk and meet up for rp, and gain some social credit for doing so! We also have a lecture hall available!

July Donations:
Several of our previous weekly donors of food and produce have seemingly gone out of business, or fallen out of contact. If you operate a restaurant, please seek us out to set up a recurring donation! Waste not, want not. We are also happy to accept leftover food from galas and events.

This Month's Events
Barricades Busted - With the end of the crisis and return of order to the City of Regalia, Alms Volunteers assisted the Violet Order by dismantling the remaining barricades which littered the city. While the Mercenary Keep gathered assistance to dismantle barricades around New Town, the Alms and the Violets took to Old Town, and in time the city streets were free of obstruction once again!
Arena Court Cleanup - Alms Volunteers once again assisted the Violet Order this month by meeting in Arena Court to remove any remaining occult shrines and debris from the public space. The message has been loud and clear- affliction has no place in our city!
Warm Fire, Chilling Stories - Alms Librarian Saana Gahan hosted an evening of frights and fun around a bonfire in the Alms Sanctuary courtyard this month, inviting peerage and commoners alike to enjoy exquisite snacks and thrilling tales of terror. In Honor of Ness - Alms Volunteers were invited to assist Unionist Celates Nèe, Luxvenia, and Alexi on this year's Remembrance Day at the Lady of Salvation Temple. Following passionate speeches, volunteers repaired gravestones and offered memorials for the lost.
Library Hours - Our newest Librarian, Miss Ilaine, has been hard at work already in the Alms Library! Should anyone wish to donate works to the library, they need only contact some of our dutiful staff. Otherwise, be sure to keep an eye out for opening hours and events in honor of literature.
Faith in the Sanctuary - Celate Auridian Luxvenia could be found in the all-faith chapel within the Alms Sanctuary this month, eager to offer comfort and guidance to those who sought them out.
Community Service Action - Lord Commander Viggo Sorenvik of the Violet Order has made communication between the Alms Volunteers and Violet Guards more fluid than ever! As Guards sentence prisoners to community service, they now have the means to call upon Volunteers to assist with the punishment. (( Alms Volunteers will now be permitted into Violet Order Discord and given a unique rank, come to Alms Discord for more info! ))

Tour Guides: Show newcomers around the city!
Librarians: Open the library, curate the collection, and host events for lovers of literacy!
Researchers: Can be hired to look into specific information, and compile an IC document for RP use
The Brute Squad: Is a volunteer security force devoted to safekeeping the Alms and its staff. Knights are welcome.

Anyone is free to jump in and stir up activity in the Alms Locations at any time. The Alms Garrison, located in Arena Court, has a garden that is always in need of tending! The Sanctuary in Rose Court (use /tp nest inn) hosts a Kitchen and Dining Hall where volunteers can get to work, or where passers-by can congregate. Anyone is welcome to volunteer, no sign ups necessary. ((Just ping the Discord listed below! Anyone is free to post a RP Call for activity in the Alms Locations.))
