Role-play School

Do you believe this to be a good idea?

This seems interesting! I think that everybody could learn something from having a role-play school, and I'm almost positive that this would help people genuenly interested in role-play learn how to role-play better!

I see a few flaws in this idea, a lot of the bad RPers wouldn't want to go inside a classroom just to be told how to RP. there is also the issue of timezones, a lot of the bad RPers are on when the server is quiet, so it would be hard to inform them that there is a class.
We shouldn't force them into going to an RP school. Their need of roleplay should get them around all of these obstacles in order to attend. Those flaws sound more like pros to me. It would sepparate the people who truly want to roleplay from the people that lack the patience.

Supported
I would love to partake in this school myself. Recently my roleplaying efforts have all ended fruitless. The chance to hear about the difference between forum roleplaying and server roleplaying might bring me more luck.

I definitely like the idea, and you have my support, I do have one critique though, and that is in the name. If newbies are reluctant to accept our help to improve their roleplay in the first place, would branding it as school help that? School is work, how about something like training camp or workshop? A more fun sounding name

Supported! I would like to attend, my roleplay skills could use a little work.

Due to the truly spectacular support, I'll contact someone about the location to begin classes!
I thank you all for your support, it means a lot.

Seems awesome. Might get some classes myself, as I find myself derping sometimes as well.

I'd like to attend, as my RP is relatively poor in quality. One important lesson, I believe, is spelling, punctuation and grammar; most importantly, CAPITALISE!!! There are cases in which I can deal with such problems, some people aren't first language English, or they simply aren't great at English anyway. However, when mistakes are borne out of sheer laziness, then it starts to get on my nerves.

I support this idea as long as I'm ensured teachers are patient with their students, take this seriously, and most importantly, are willing to accept feedback and critique from each other and other prominent roleplayers in the community. After all, it takes a village to raise a child.

Sorry if this was already asked, cause I basically blew through the whole thread without reading other people's posts, but would this school be IN Regalia? If so, I don't think this is such a good idea. I mean, it's kind of like watching a movie, and then seeing in the background other actors learning their lines while the movie's being filmed. It'd just ruin the whole atmosphere of the movie, and it's the same type of deal with the roleplay. Now, if this were a forums thing, sure, it'd be an awesome idea. But when you're actually in Regalia, teaching people the lore and whatnot....meh.

We could roleplay our characters learning to roleplay. In a tucked away corner somewhere~

Tucked away, all hushush. If it was an actual Roleplay school, where characters would meet up and 'learn' and whatnot, perhaps about the past of Aloria or how to write or read, then yes. It would most likely be placed somewhere within the Regalia walls.

that would be nice since i can't come online very often. in that way i could lern how to RP better without missing something

I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to attend, as my work schedule this week is anything but set in stone. I'm not sure how you plan on setting it up, but if I get a list of names of people who attend and need a teacher, I'll be happy to get in contact with each of them as soon as possible to set up a lesson with them.

Kirby12352 That was my concern as well. Depending on how Rose wanted to set it up, I was thinking we could head to one of the spawns on any of the continents, as there are a large number of places we could use without the constant screech of a vampire or a shout from a random passerby to interfere.

arthur Again, depending on how Rose decides to set this up, as it is still her school, I'll gladly transfer any lessons to a forum post for those that cannot make it. If you'd like to try and set up a time for when you are on the server, though, I feel it would be more beneficial instead of a forum post.

I'd love to attend. If you'd let me. I think with the amount of people that will attend that you may need more than one teacher. But I definitely need a lot of work. Hope your willing! :D

Fantastic! I'm glad to see this is happening so soon. I hope that most of those who expressed an interest will be able to participate. Just two questions:
Will there be an announcement in-game?
Where are we all meeting up?

~vVv~ Role-Play School Questions Answered ~vVv~
To address several issues:
Due to the requests of people asking for a forums thread school, we will be holding both a forum school thread, and an in-game school held within Regalia. In Regalia it will be mostly asking questions, and watching the experienced role-players reenact the questions. We will be teaching how to act in certain settings etc...
~vVv~
On the thread we will be discussing more... in depth to lore, and questions that would involve a lot of text. We will also post some of the things that we'd review in school on the thread as well.
~vVv~
As for the school lesion tomorrow, we will be reviewing some things that we'll be teaching during our classes, and we'll answer a few questions. We will be giving a 30-20-10 minute warning in advance, both in-game and on the thread. Classes will be held in the Theatre in Regalia. {The Theatre is fairly off-set from the tavern, which should give us a clean chat during these times. If any problems arise we may move the school to the spawn of Fenderfall.

I think I will attend but I may be a little late.

Wait who let Fong put his clown in this? that creepy clown -turns around seeing clown and runs the other way-
