Regalia Build Suggestions!

Another idea I just had is to build a place for Yanil to be grown~ While I know the park just got upgraded I feel like Yanils need a set place to be grown which can also link to my previous idea.

Also we could develop an Url-themed area? Maybe how the sewer maggots worked when you fell in sewer water in sewers v1 but with the worms that infect and create Url. Also we could have a dulofall infected area when the whole area looks sorta like the shadow isles, it could be covered in mushrooms and shender void shrines

Hmm, embassies of foreign lands in Regalia? Ithanian, Deandroquean?

Whoever it was who suggested Autumn colours, I made sure you got your wish (can't be bothered checking).

I also built a Void Worshippers circle somewhere in the Imperial district. Keep a lookout for that!

In regalia:
- Improve RP spawn!
- A large arena for all the tournaments.
- A military quarter where soldiers live and war stuff is kept.
- Farmland outside regalia for roleplaying peasants and to generate ambient
- A large abandoned mine
- A drydock where ships are built
- An airship dock
- Colossal statues from a bygone era

In the crown island
- Swamps for hunting, hiding bodies, conducting shadowy business
- Caves for hunting monsters, for hiding, to be used by smugglers or for exploration
- Underwater kelp forest with a sunken temple for maiar rp or treasure hunting
- Islands with weird biomes (desert, mushrom island, jungle, mesa) to roleplay exploration in distant lands.

Im too darn lazy to read through this but if it has yet to be said

BUILD A THEATRE/OPERA HOUSE
we would have more opportunities for noble rp/events that way.

^I would be interested to see a new opera house in RP. Perhaps it could be placed near the Grand Cathedral where there are no buildings and just blank land?

Maybe an update to the Hunting grounds near Rothburg, or add in different hunting grounds with a different narrative for each location. Maybe instead of a bear cave, there's some deer out in the woods, or a wolf pack?

There are new hunting grounds at the Holzkuste campgrounds which can be visited using /tp RegalianCampgrounds. I plan on keeping this entire area up to date with updates and changes while also changing the trail to incorporate different animals, scenarios, etc. This is a side project and not something which is pertinent to Regalia and on-going main projects so do not expect things to change too often.

A Hidden Garden in the park sort of like behind the waterfall type deal where a large chunk of rock started to erode forming a large cave filled with crystals, flowers, vines sort of like a peace garden to drink tea and relax yourself within the nature. (the park is big granted but its mostly turns and twists where barely any people actually rp) the main ambition is to help those with stress sort of like a place of healing.

(i say this not knowing if it's a thing or not i have yet to figure out fully where everything is)
Unsure if its been said, but at one point we had something of the likes in the park. Not many people used it.

we have slum tavern and the regular tavern both are semi frequently used but nothing has ever been used for healing purposes as we have a lot of plants, aliors ect running around who prefer peace over all a large healing cave would be nice to relax ones mental state and physical we can offer masseuse massages to what ales you like something zen and peaceful because do you literally not understand what happens daily on regalia kidnapping uh murder uh treason uh heresy like god guys get with the zen program. <3 thanks for listening brycea

And the 3452245 other taverns and bars that line the streets that no uses, if memory serves me regalia used to have quite a large clinic beside the old poor district that was burnt down

My few suggestions, reiterating some from prior posts as well maybe:

An opera house.

* Some rentable farms.

* Connecting the random Sewer Snippets (aka the old entrances that never got used) to tunnels and pipes in the Slums for connectivity sake and to encourage criminals to get into the main city more for their dirty work.

* A Fighting Arena, sor duels and tournaments to be held. LARGE.

* Expand the Mair caves under Fong Manor with more rooms, side passages, and a long waterway connecting it to a hidden exit in the Slums, so Maiar can just swim from one side of the city to the next.

* More tunnels with rent regions in the underground of the Slums. Give it a little of the Sewers vibe.

* Estel Shrine hidden in the Park. Maybe integrate it with the hidden grove idea, make it a beauty.

* Lampar tunnels and burrows under the Imperial District and Scholar District with little cheap-to-rent houses, and lots of tree roots peeking through the ceiling where applicable.

* Finishing the damn Imperial Palace the Throne Room has been exposed to the elements for so long the cushions on the throne are sure to have molded by now. <3

* No more housing districts. Honestly, I look around and 1/3rd of the houses in Regalia are empty, even 1/5th in the Slums, which is the shiny (figuratively) and new district. We don't need housing for a while. At all. Make something more, entertaining. An Entertainment district, mayhaps, between the Cathedral and the Trade districts in the south. A place for a great opera house, a place for plays, an Arena, and various stages of various sizes, littered with market stalls for people to harp their wares, and wide streets to accommodate street performances. Heck slap a bard's school in there even just for immersion sake.

Addressing the several suggestions for builds outside of the main city
There are several reasons as to why there aren't many other builds outside of the main city, the main ones being;
  • The player base is not large enough to keep RP frequent with everyone spread out over the entire island. To further this point, I often hit tab while in-game and see 60+ people on and 80% of them are in the slums tavern underground secluding themselves from the rest of the city. Granted that is the type of RP people enjoy, the point is the seclusion severely impacts RP as I have a hard time finding decent RP outside of the slums.
  • It causes the same issue the sewers created which is that everyone will seclude themselves which will result in less RP and rule evaders. (And this still occurs with the slums anyway)
  • It will likely not be used anyway as has been proven in the past. I haven't seen a single person use the rents at the Ravenstad castle and those are secluded rents and a nicely laid out town, granted small, but the point remains.
It comes down to those three reasons as to why it is incredibly difficult to implement new areas outside of the city as much as World would love to do it. As said, the Buerg Eleng (Ravenstad Castle) town has, to my knowledge, hardly, if at all, been used. Rothburg was also originally supposed to be an expansion to the island giving a "less laggy", secluded, and unique/new RP experience, though this quickly fell off with the loss of World staff as well as the lack of players.

It can also be argued that these areas don't see much activity due to the lack of ways to get around the island. This is a fair point. Each country estate has carts to them, but Rothburg lacks a cart directly to the town and I will be looking into fixing this.

With that being said I am willing to hear possible solutions to this (preferably in PM as to not clutter the thread further), but outside of growing the server, I do not see new hotspots around the island being possible at this moment in time.

Finally, if I can suggest less spam on this thread so World can actually more easily read through, some of your ideas may actually make it into the world. Keep the ideas flowing!

Addressed.

Addressed.

This was discussed, but I genuinely do not remember the consensus and will bring it up next meeting, assuming I remember to.
* A Fighting Arena, sor duels and tournaments to be held. LARGE.
There was one and it was never used. I recall, in my two-ish years on this server, it only being used once, so this is a waste unless there is some large need for it that I do not see.

Not going to address any further slum suggestions as it was just put in and will be updated as time goes on.
* Estel Shrine hidden in the Park. Maybe integrate it with the hidden grove idea, make it a beauty.
Hesitant to build an underground grove as, similar to the sewers issue, I fear players, specifically Yanar players, will seclude themselves and not interact with the rest of the city causing a further deficit in RP.
* Lampar tunnels and burrows under the Imperial District and Scholar District with little cheap-to-rent houses, and lots of tree roots peeking through the ceiling where applicable.
No. Lampar are hardly played seriously and don't need their own housing, imo.
* Finishing the damn Imperial Palace the Throne Room has been exposed to the elements for so long the cushions on the throne are sure to have molded by now. <3
Not pertinent and will get done when it gets done. It doesn't affect daily RP anyway.
The Bridge district will be the last housing district for a while. When the district projects were started there was a large need for housing and over time we fixed the issue which is now why you see so many houses vacant.

Suggestion: move the farmland, unused villages (e.g. Buerg Eleng, Roghtburg) and possibly the country states closer to regalia. That should increase their usage and concentrate RP in the city.
That then defeats the purpose of country estates and it would be far too much work to move everything and would cause everything to become far too congested. There is no issue with country estates or their small villages, the issue comes in when making a new town which draws away from the city, such as Rothburg.

Again, I would prefer this thread to remain as build suggestions rather than a debate about how to make this work.

SNIP

Build tall houses with a basement that host two or even three rent areas.
More houses per area mean players are more concentrated.

Not really a huge idea but some houses in the realworld have gardens. Having a garden you could choose how to decorate would be nice, have a few benches, flowers. Maybe a pond/birdbath ect. This might be a toughy for setting out the rent regions though. Allows citizens to have their own taste of the country in their city.

A much larger port/docks with more boats, and a smugglers sort-of destructed off limit docks near the slums somewhere for smugglers and bad deed-ers.

Also a trade/business/shopping district, I've always wanted something like that to replace or add to the tavern to make more rp scenarios possible and also allowing small business owners and a more capital-city feel.

The Trade District exists, in two forms. The Commerce District north of the Imperial Bridge, and the Trade District south of spawn. However I agree with the docks.

what we need is something that adds more wow to the other races that are not Ailor (racist in-game and to my own irl species) but due to lore of Ailor supremacy this will hardly ever happen. #AilorExtinction #YanarForEmpress

We don't need any more housing districts for now so that idea is useless.

We could do with upgrades to buildings such as the bath house or the main tavern road.

Also we could do with an airship hanger or more boat rents. Maybe even ones that are away from shore as if they have sailed off as this could connect the approved faction rp lore places to regalia.

Maybe we could do with an apocalyptic setting to happen in regalia. A full scale void invasion (I know im thinking lore but the two basically work together as one unit) could be awesome as it would add a huge flare to RP such as public war, famine, monsters and death. This can also build on other buildings In the city.

Maybe we could have more faction worlds and the current ones get a revamp.

That's it im out of ideas~ Enjoy~

Regalia needs some kind of circus. Not just any circus, but one that feeds on the pain and suffering of the nation.. an Abusement Park, if you will.

That already was a thing in the old poor district that was burnt down, it was actually cool and I found it an interesting and excellent way to get to know people and to interact

A place where Maiar can go close to main rp hubs (New world Pub and willow really, as slum tav is surrounded by tons of water) because I reckon more would play Maiar if, they where easier to play

Make a non-human district or embassy, I don't know. I know there is the Allar embassy but an overall non-human place would be pretty alright. LET'S CONTAIN THE FILTH.

The Allar embassy was made due to the Allar being a large part of the Regalian war. Plus the Cro-Allar being considered nobility. What is the purpose of a non-human embassy for people who do nothing for the empire? Someone would need to make some sort of group or organization that aided the empire as the Allar do and earn such a building.
