So I've been having this problem lately with people building their houses outside of our new base, or inside of the Wilderness of our base, thinking they're safe. Wrong, I destroy those homes that are built in or around our base without permission, and if you did your items will be moved to the rock farm for safekeeping for you to come get when you have the time. This, however, is what upset me the most.
Ugly tree tower.png
A new member of Deathfist planted trees to the height limit to "commemorate his first house", which just so happened to be inside of OUR base. We worked on removing it over the weekend, but came to a halt when we were attacked. If we could get a staff member to remove this cancer spot on the map, I would be very pleased and throw my money at you happily.

What? Building in wilderness?|-( It's wilderness... Not "your base"

Still, it is very close to Tax's base. Surely the 16 chunk rule would include buildings like that. Even then, those tree's with dirt atop them certainly counts as "griefing the landscape". I seem to recall the team vowing to remove stuff like that when it is reported...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that appears to be a major road running through the picture. I feel like the 16 chunk rule, or any rule about building near another person/faction, should be waved when built on major roads through the world. Either that, or decide that things should be built 16 chunks away from a major road, forcing factions and players to build their own roads.
But as it is now, it's a road, people would obviously want to build on it, that's what roads are for basically.

The trees are a different matter entirely though. And if it's not a road, then what I've just said doesn't apply here.

No, 16 chunk rule is for factions to my knowledge. If it was for everything then no new players would not be able to even start thinking about building something.

My first impression here... the admins don't like Tax and aren't going to help him.

What does a 'bribe' have to do with removing that horrible tree-tower thing? That should, by default, be removed without question or hesitation.

As for the wilderness structures within the factions claim land... that is more of a gray area, but I do not think that the admins should ignore the problem. At least put somewhere in the intro-rules that it is suggested not to start you new wilderness house too close to a faction in case they decide to expand in your direction.

That is my 3 cents.

I think people should be allowed to build immediately next to another's faction, but have loose the right to complain if their building is destroyed or the land claimed.

Well the problem is it seems Deathfist is going to try to defend "their home", which may lead to complications. However if tax claimed the land it should be quite easy to remove the structure. I do think however the admins should do something about people making houses near Tax's faction.

Im sure not going to help push away some poor players in wilderness because a big faction intended/was thinking about claiming the land in the future, thats crazytalk. It was wilderness, they want to live there, they where first. Want to get rid of them? Scare them away or whatever, you are the big scary faction -_-

Ask tax? It was him that offers the staff money helping him -_-

Seriously? If its wilderness, how can it be within faction claim land?

That was my 5 Öre.

It seems like it's griefing to me, I'm fairly sure that they only would make something like that to troll tax or deliberately make the landscape ugly.

The admins sound like me...:P I'm not alone! :D

Prior post deleted because of I thought better of it lol.

Anyway, my original post in this thread had one main and potentially valid point in it:

The admins should make a note to add to the starting rules and information world that people would be wise to try and stay away from factions when building in wilderness, as there is no guarantee that the faction will not expand and claim their home, with or without knowing the home was there.

What do you think of that, Igel_son?
