Open Ocean Merchant Lobby
About
The Open Ocean Merchant Lobby is the political arm of the Open Ocean Merchant Guild. The lobby aims to promote the mercantile activity of its affiliated guild members on both a local and international scale, and act as a voice for its affiliated guild members in the State Assembly. The group also works towards encouraging Regalian commerce at large. The current, specific objectives of the lobby include:
- having the Regalian Ministry of Finance and the House of Trade's monopoly on charging import and export tariffs dropped, to promote the business initiatives and endeavours of private guilds and companies;
- spearheading the forging of new, friendly relations with other nations (e.g. the Songaskians) through the peaceful activity of trade, via the establishment of Guild-administered trade routes and posts.
To join the Open Ocean Merchant Lobby, three steps must be completed. First, a family must be a member of the Open Ocean Merchant Guild. Second, a family must be a noble family with voting rights in the State Assembly. Third, the patriarch/matriarch of said family must post an IC application letter to join the Open Ocean Merchant Lobby in this thread, below. Before completing these steps, it is compulsory to read what joining a political lobby entails, here.
