All Beacon Under Attack!
A group of individuals were spotted recently engaging with a crowd in front of the All Beacon Temple. Despite the damages to our heart of the city, the person we would later learn to be an individual known as Sierra Wu, was stationed in front of the Temple, debating with the wielder of Sangria- a Ser Kurt (unavailable for comment as of writing this).

Amidst the discussion, it was revealed that Sierra and their compatriots were holding the integrity of the temple hostage in exchange for Allest's legendary blade. Even more interesting, they intended on handing the blade to one of three Empresses to appease them, as well as utilizing it to awaken the dead god Pahtia. Sierra was quoted as saying "Paint me as the villain all you want, it's not you who I've got to prove I've done right by". Unfortunately, Ser Kurt nor the crowd was convinced of their intentions, accusing them of only wanting to accrue power by disgracing the All Beacon.

One wonders then, dear reader, what is the truth to this? I cannot say I have the full picture, and I am certain further details will be revealed as time goes on, but we did manage to have a form of interview with Sierra in private following this interaction. The following summary is their supposed motive, where I will trust you all to be the judge of their reasoning from there.

Sitting in the Golden Willow, Sierra shared with me that the reason for fighting for Pahtia's revival was due to them wanting to assist the Maraya of the city. We were informed that the Maraya of Regalia are working alongside our local Asha population in a bid to return a fragment of their prophet to life. For those unaware, the Maraya pay heed to a being known as Tohn Relaat. The Maraya at one point reportedly tried to revive such a being, only to be informed that they had truly passed, and a fragment lived on with the Khama faith. If the Maraya wished to retrieve such a fragment of Tohn Relaat, they would need to assist and work alongside the Khama. Now, one may wonder why Sierra would know this, or be interested in such information. When asked, they only stated that they are an interested third party. Very interesting indeed, that a former Estellian, now self-proclaimed godless person would be so interested in something so divine.

Finishing up our interview, Sierra shared that they had originally intended on stealing Sangria before Ser Kurt could obtain it. Then, they believed they could negotiate with the Unionist faithful into holding onto it indefinitely. I'm not obligated to share my opinion in these pieces, but I cannot say that this would work out. If one would like to find Sierra themselves, they shared that they are currently under the consistent employment of House Salvatore. One should reach out to their estate regarding this should they be interested in learning more.

Salvatore vs. Norinn: An Inquest Summary
"Knowest thou naught? He who fears no spear; Desert-crossing knight; It is he who fears the Gods the most"
- Lady Vittoria, on the topic of Salvatore vs. Norinn, included on the specific request of Lady Vittoria.

Recently, house Salvatore has come under fire of accusations of fraud from House Norinn. Accused of threatening the Count Lamont Norinn of bringing their adultery and apostasy to light if not granted a portion of their influence amongst the assemblies. These accusations were dismissed by Count Dante Salvatore, countering that the accusation was made in an attempt to mask the Neo-Hiltfrontists' own shortcomings. This would all come to a climax, when the Unionist Faithful of the city conducted an Inquest on House Norinn for the accusation of Adultery and Apostasy, led by a Charikleia Fotakis.

I had the pleasure of speaking with a number of important faces of this Inquest, including Sister Fotakis herself before the event took place. To quote her directly, "I wish to share that, where I am from. Political figures who seek to influence or sway the decisions of the Cloth, and by extension the Everwatcher, are oft severely punished. This Inquest shall be fair and considerate, and if I learn any testimony was falsified, I shall see to… Retribution, both spiritual and physical, of those who attempt to taint the verdict for their own ends".

At the Inquest itself, Lamont Norinn proclaimed that he was never Unionist at heart, instead being inducted into the faith by his father. Once he took the helm of the family accordingly, he then converted away from his childhood faith and followed that of Fornoss beliefs. Norinn believed that since he did not benefit from being a Unionist, he should not be punished for not following the oaths sworn under it. Count Norinn then implied that the celacy should treat his adultery as an annulment of his marriage, and then requested a divorce in front of the public.

Sister Fotakis denounced this claim immediately, using letters from Count Norinn's own family supporting his dual faith to support her statement that he was not in fact constrained to Unionism all his life. Fotakis then redirected to the original point of the Inquest, claiming that the Count merely broke his vows not out of political greed, but personal. In pursuing another out of his marriage, he broke his vows and committed sin.

Count Salvatore was unfortunately unable to attend the Inquest, but did share the following in a private interview. With me, they shared that the Count Norinn originally came to Salvatore in a bid to forge an alliance of sorts. When Count Salvatore turned down the offer, and publicly denounced Lamont Norinn for his adultery, that is when the accusations of fraud came into light. The Count Salvatore theorized that it was a bid to cover up such a scandal, but Norinn was unavailable for comment regarding this.

That would be all, if not for a surprise appearance from the Countess Nayelen herself. There, they denied the timeline presented by Count Salvatore, and not only decreed that Count Norinn had converted to the Fornoss faith before his adultery, they then denounced their accusers for their deception and supposed underhandedness. Sister Fotakis then confirmed that this solidified more charges in her eyes, as Norinn had denied any marriage plans in their own interviewing.

More statements from the public were shared, some allowed, some in an uproar, before a final decision was made to find the Count Norinn guilty of Oath Breaking and Deception, with the present celerity moving to recommend a writ of sin be issued to the Count.

As a closing statement, the lead prosecutor Fotakis had the following to say: "This shall be considered by the wider college. Three Celates did not decide this, but rather that they chose whether it was a worthy cause to elevate to the college. And there, dozens of Celates shall consider the merits of their decisions.

Local Comforts
For the first edition of our paper, I did not have any submissions for good news or recommendations. Because of this, I am sharing a recipe of my own. It is very simple, but I do hope that you enjoy them.

Griddle Cakes

  • What Will You Need
    • A Cup of Flour
    • Three Fourths a Cup of Water
    • Half a Teaspoon of Salt
    • Half a Teaspoon of Sugar
    • One Teaspoon of Yeast combined with 1 Tablespoon of Warm Water
    • Two Tablespoon of Unsalted Butter

To make the batter, mix the flour, water, and salt in a bowl for about two minutes. Afterwards, add the yeast dissolved in warm water into the bowl along with the sugar and whisk for an additional half minute. Once the batter is formed, leave it covered in a warm place for about thirty minutes until the surface appears foamy.

Once ready, grease a skillet with butter, and with medium heat pour about a quarter cup of the batter into rings (I use cookie cutters, which can sometimes lead to shapes not appropriate for the time of year), then turn the heat down. Once the batter has solidified a bit, you can remove the rings and flip to cook the other side for some added color.

Once finished, set out to cool and they should be ready to eat thereafter! They are usually best toasted, then paired with butter and honey, although you can use whatever you'd like to pair it with.

Amended Title on the Request of Sister Fotakis

Somewhere later at the aforementioned estate, one certain secretary would have read the paper.
The more she read, the more confused she looked, mumbling something under her breath as she filed the paper away into her endless collection of paperwork..
