Hey, so i'm updating this so that it makes more sense, and outlines my idea more clearly.
To start i'd like to say i love this server. I've travelled many places, seen worlds be born and die (that sounds so dramatic). But one thing i've always wanted is the ability to be completely unique, this came in a small amount with traits. Giving us all the unique traits that each race can have, it's useful for rp, pvp and general galavanting. My idea is that if we could add powerful and unique items into the world it could make things more interesting for everyone. These would be hard to find, fought over, traded, gifted etc. They could be in dungeons, each needing to be reached through some form of challenge, whether it's parkour, pve, puzzles and more. These items should be useful and powerful, even if they just contain a small enchantment they might have a huge impact on the areas that they are specialised for. Items like this should be lore compliant, though some perhaps could be a little light hearted.

For example:
Name: Frozen
Discoverer: Icy_Water7
Item class: Bow
Creators: the Isldar
Base enchants: power 4, punch 2, infin 1 and unbreaking 7
Special enchant: has a 1/4 chance of adding slowness 3 to the enemy
Lore: Found in an iceberg in the high north of Ellador, sunlight glistens through its crystalline structure.

This bow would have be found where it's lore says it was found. It's name would have been lost therefore the adventurer who found it would have to ask around about it or name it themselves.
Items would come in a variety of forms :
Weapons: your usual weapons , everyday axes, bows and swords. With an added bonus lol.
Eg.
Name: Stone Carver
Discoverer: Tresar
Item type: Axe
Creators: Dwarves
Base enchants: sharpness 5, knock back 4 and unbreaking 7
Special: Transfers axes Armor damage to enemy weapon damage when in Skull splitter mode.
Lore: layers of Dwarvish alloys cast into the perfectly balance weapon seen today. It has a strange groove, perhaps for locking with weapons.

Name: Hüminkr
Discoverer: @MonMarty
Item type: Staff (hoe)
Creators: Unknown
Base enchants: sharpness 7 (remember its a hoe) unbreaking 7
Special: Whenright clicked the hoe loses durability in order to heal the holder, half a heart per 70 durability. Increase all strike chance by 25%
Lore: A shaft of poisoned wood, topped with a soft chewable handle.

Name: Blade of Twasdi Makesh
Discoverer: @PariahFolk
Item Type: Sword
Creators: Ch'ien Ji
Base enchants: Sharpness 5, Fire Aspect 4 and unreaking 7
Special: Has a 50% chance of spilling half of a premiums inventory on death. Also increase beheading chance.
Lore: Sharpened layers of steel, folded to create the perfect Katana. It can split any foe in half.

Jewellery: Items that effect the character so long as they are in the hot bar. These could allow
strong buffs and maybe be enchant able so that unarmed users have a fighting chance.
Eg.
Name: The Woven Ring
Discoverer: Neon_57
Item type: Ring (shown perhaps as a jewel or coloured firework star)
Creators: Unknown
Special enchant: silk touch on any item used by the player holding the ring, ring has durability and can be repaired.
Lore: An intricate mesh of golden fibres keeping a single red crystal n place. It shimmers in the light.

Name: Jewel of the Worm king
Discoverer: @Coleman2225
Creators: Shendar
Item type: Jewel
Special enchant: when fighting, once every 2 hours, right clicking with the ring will put you in a cocoon. Hunger 5 will hit you and in 5 minutes you will emerge with regen 2 speed 3. But only if you emerge with full hunger. If you don't emerge with full hunger you gain a 4 min long poison.
Lore: Some vile creature created this fusion of end stone and insect parts. No wonder it smells so bad...

Name: The Dragons Eye
Discoverer: @Sevrish
Item type: Talisman
Creators: The Ailor
Special enchant: Transforms fireball into "Dragon Breath" which fires the smaller blaze fireballs faster and for more damage than the larger ones. "Dragon Breath" is continuos so all that is needed is for the user to right click with a stack of fireballs and they will stream out. Also gives regen from fire.

Armor/Armour: Armor could be interesting, higher Protection. Lower speed maybe. Buffs mainly based on defence/mobility.
Eg.
Name:Namasaki's Crown

Discoverer: @BansheeLord
Item type: Chestpeice
Creators: Ailor Priests
Base enchant: Prot 6! Unbreaking 7
Special: If holy the user gains a "Holy Smite" instead of "serrated strikes" or "skull splitter"
"Holy Smite" involves 5 lightning bolts crashing down from the heavens onto your enemies.
Lore: May the church bless you with our faith. And our lightning...

Name: Torn
Discoverer: @56jes89
Item type: Leggings (leather)
Creators: Multiracial Theives
Base enchant: Prot 8! Unbreaking 10!
Special: After hitting a player, if said player runs, until you hit him you gain increasing levels of speed.
Lore: Theives made these for quick escapes. Or catching up with squeelers.

Potions: maybe your find an alchemy book full of hidden potion recipes. Books could be found that can give players permissions to use "unique" potions. Affects can vary.
Eg.
Name: Sanguine Draught
Discoverer: natcanino
Item type: potion
Creators: Blood Mages possibly
Effects: Any drinker with the unholy trait gain a bloodlust. If a target isn't killed in 1minute of consumptionthen the target suffers nausea but if a kill takes place the drinkers gains strength 3 and instant health 2.
Lore: A book of Vampire secrets taught you how to make this brew. Luckily you can add sugar to make it taste better.

Name: Lion Ale
Brewer: @Luthien
Item type: Booze :D
Creators: it's a lion's home brew. Take 1 guess.
Effects: instantly from drinking, the drinker shoots out a 'Roar' dealing the same amount of damage as obsidian being fired out of a cannon.
Lore: Brewed using strange furry brown grapes. Tastes of raw gazelle. Hint of buffalo too.

Tomes of hidden knowledge: books which unlock craft able artefacts. Varying from cookbooks to Dwarven tech manuals.
Eg.
Name: The Techanomicon
Discoverer: werewolfkiller
Item type: book, written ofcourse.
Creators: Dwarves
Knowledge: Teaches you the secrets of Dwarvish tech and allows you to use special a munitions for cannons. Gives a permission to use certain aspects of cannons.

Lore: Straight from that forsaken continent. Estel help us. Let us fight with their own strength!

Craft able stuff: Items that could be crafted after a long and painful process. Varies from poisoned cakes to axes with bloodlust. Would usually need a tome to be unlocked.

Tools: Picks amd such that have strange effects. Eg digging nether quartz and getting
iron?
Eg.

Pets: For premiums only. Find a guide on "How to train your Chicken" and watch Clucky turn into a battle hen.
Eg.
Name: Idnid the Venom
Tamer: Kikopuz
Species: Spider
Abilities: speed 3 30 hearts jump 2 and poiosonous attacks
Lore: It's very difficult to explain a spider the size of a horse. So I say he's a rare breed.

Name: Flossy of Silkwood
Tamer: @TheLoneShepherd
Species: sheep
Abilities: Knockback 7 and jump 4
Lore: I tamed this from the mountain Forrest of Silkwood. He likes carrots and mountains.

Example of possible location for the "Curiass of the Holy and Just":
An old abandoned cathedral. Full of buffed monsters and such. A wither skeleton would wear the Curiass and fight to the death for it, the lightning will hurt. Once the first hit takes place a riddle is sent out in a broadcast. Crack it and you can find the cathedral on the dynmap, to add to the challenge.
All of these could be added and would add to all players experiences. Pvpers now all different instead of the same. Rpers with books on how to create an addictive mead. Miners/builders with the means to shape mountains.
Tell me what ya think any questions or queries post in the comments. Critisisms are welcome, but be nice. Any balancing issues you can think of pls state em. If you would like more content such as more enchant ideas then say it.

Hope you enjoy my thread I enjoyed writing it and thinking of the ideas. I would like to thank neon for helping me. Hope you enjoyed this thread. I will make a poll to see how many people are interested in seeing this appear in their lives.

With love.

while i like this idea so much i think it would require to much time for the staff to even think about it...
not to mention this sounds a litle mod-y to me...
great idea tough, like it

Yeah.... This is great, but one small problem. The jewelry and alchemy books are kinda useless. Using McMMO, you can already brew special potions.

Ahh see mcmmo alchemy goes along the basis of vanilla alchemy modifiers aka glow stone and such. Alchemy tomes would allow for longer/more powerful variants of potions and perhaps even potions with 2 effects.

Jewellery is kinda like special buffs like flaming unarmed attacks and such of the likes. Maybe a ring that has 16 teleportation uses a day? Those types of jewellery

Krios I assume that you know the difference between a pluggin and a mod and have a thorough understanding of the both? Then you will see that what I have suggested is possible through mc's existing code.

I think the idea is a good one, it makes things feel a bit more like a fantasy/medieval place. I can see how it could make it a better experience for every one but it does seem like alot of work for a staff crew that are, if i'm right, doing this for free and out of their time. but I think that it may or may not hurt if there were a couple of these around, have a couple of people test them in private and roleplay before creating all of the ones wanted. also, I don't think it would really work with the pets.

So yes, all in all, a good idea but could be looked at a little more I feel.

wow looks interesting, i really like the idea yet it may be difficult to add to the server.
Certainly something to look into

Books get destroyed like the spell books in Skyrim after each use, and this would seem like a fine idea =)
How about when they get used then appears a 'used' version so people can say that they have had the item before and don't have to feel like what ever they did to get the item was for nothing

This does sound really enjoyable actually, though I would enjoy the idea of these places being unknown, so you can go out looking/discover it, which might also present the extra benefit of making the items rarer. I'm assuming from what I just read that these would be found across the different maps? (If I'm misunderstanding just poke me) There may be an issue in that PvPers might camp these areas in order to kill players/get multiple items. Any thoughts?

These places would be unknown and the items one of a kind. Why would a pvper camp it if the loots already taken?

My mistake, I wasn't aware you were intending these items to be one of a kind, I assumed you were referring to those chests that refill themselves for each player. In which case, they might just camp to kill people, but you're right, it's far less likely in that case. ^^

It's ok thankyou for expressing your opinion and voting. ^^

what if there is a chance that the item stays with the player that gets killed? just to make it that bit fairer(?) or at least worth the trouble to get it.
though maybe not a %100 chance or a %50 chance, maybe something like 5 or somthing around that number.

and how about the item changes locations in the world? or is that going a bit over the top?

I feel this would actually add a lot of "interesting" to the game. Right off the bat, newbies would almost instantly have a goal to work towards, and it would increase the amount of active players. Plus, it would make the world more immersive, and add a touch of uniqueness. It might also up the PvP community. There's also the fact that the items would be quite valuable. A tip though, a lot of the "ruins" should be underground. It would make finding them more difficult.
