I was thinking the other day that I wish I knew more about Massivecraft and all of it's history that happened long ago. I was think of becomming some sort of historian to write in game books and empires and faction shattering wars. I am makig this post to get some feed back on the idea. Thanks. ( added on: if any members of a faction I will be covering wants a copy of my book let me know)

Go the "Faction announcements" section of the forum. All the big wars and their threads of war declaration and related should be in there. Big topics are:
  • Imperials
  • Solaris
  • The Viridian Crusade
...and minor wars in between. Although, comments on those threads are high biased, so don't take anything said at face value. A good amount of information such as raid reports, KDAs, and war outcomes can be totally wrong. Use the threads to learn the sides of the war and get a general sense of the why, what, and where/when.

Don't comment on the threads either. It will be considered necro posting.

Factions to remember: Pristina, Serenum, Magenta, Valyria 1st, Algaron, Argonia, Magnanimus, Alamut, Chronickatr, Kelmoria, Osai, Hisoka, 9thLegion.

People to remember: ItsNickBarry (Pristina 1st), that person who led Serenum, Igel_Son (Pinkcraftian Empire), Grixer (Imperials), Grailen (Argonia/n), FHFdoom (FIRE ZE FHFDOOMCANNON!), NinjaBaver (old staff member, long gone, 'Mayor of SilverEdge')

An issue i just thought of would be describing the factions and empire in my books but I have no idea what any of them lookes like : /

If the Imperials, Solaris and Viridian Crusade are gonna be done, Auxillian was the head protagonist against the Imperials and Solaris with 9thLegion and Magnanimus. Not to mention head of Viridian Crusade alongside Viridia.

Ooooohhhhh time for a back in my day story!!!
 
So being in some degree part of leadership in the Imperials and the Viridian crusade , and slightly in the Solaris insurrection I know things! but i'll just say a bit on the Imperials. *Ahem* It was created shortly after Valyria's "We R demons give us your souls war" which had the battle of the fields of eve (with Ze FHFdoom cannon!!) where Argonian was in a Loose collective with much of what would later be the first coalition. Shortly after I struck a deal with Grixer to create the Imperials where we would go about raiding for hours and hours a day to bend factions to our will and make them pay weekly tributes. (Which we did get one faction named Zion to agree to but then the next day the current tribute rule was created) anyways for a better part of a month we were raiding 9th, Zion, Osai (St valentines day massacre where even WolfRam showed up and died.) with a much stronger force the kills were rampant until Grixer made some rather odd deal and backed out of the war, Valyria then made peace and Argonia sort of imploded due to most of the fighters getting sick of constant war and my resignation ending the war. and there we go more or less covering it besides the fact that this overlaped the second Argonian/ Arthainian war.
 
Old man voice: Back in my day, I got killed by Argonia AND the Imperials!
 
Sometimes I wish people would understand the scope of their self and other proclaimed popularity in context to the full player base.

If you're looking for a list of people and factions that were important in a large group of people that reached out in a community sense of the word, the above replies will do.

If you're looking for a list of factions or people that left a lasting impression on the running, functioning and peripherals of the server, you'd have to look completely elsewhere.
 
I am looking for both. Im trying to reach all sides of Massivecraft's history.
 
Make not this coming Wednesday the 28th is the 1 year anniversary of sharding. This event could be considered the biggest turning point of Massive history. After the sharding implementation more RPrs were able to flood in and the tides turned from a majority PvP server to a mixed server to a majority RP server.

Also @Mecharic Darkfeather was the leader of Serenum
 
Some cultural things to include could be the ancient city of Aegyptus, which might be hard to document owing to the fact that finding someone who was in that faction is a pretty slim chance. If I had the use of my computer Id send you a picture of it.

Something people forget about is the infamous BeeRando and his faction TheBlades (later LuminI) attempt at world domination in which my faction at the time that I led, Eagla, were the first to stop him until lots of other factions joined in later to end it.
Small ancient history lesson :)

Also you should try to get across the different viewpoint of the ancient times. People back then had a totally different mentality to now and you could play whatever way you wanted without being bound by tight laws or the limitations of roleplaying.

Kayolin, Old Avallone, PariahFolk.
A couple Of forgotten People=
Spectec (Death On Earth), Sevrish (The fire dragon of Algaron), Mecharic (The Mad Angry Banker), Palion999 (You say 1 nice thing about Sirvan's alt, then I will never buy any of your books :3), Rooseus, Saintsdemon (One of the best builders ever), kniferharm :3 (That awesome person), katiesc (Pro skinmaker), Eltongo (Back when gapple's were common, He was the scariest pvper ...ever), Taxconsumption,
Some other famous things that ended on the server=
MassiveRadio (The best radio show ever run by BigBellyBuddah and igel_son), The Crimsons (They had about 3 times when they actively stopped vampires, then they died)
And there is a number of people that need to be mentioned, they made this server what it is today, and even if I don't always agree with their decisions, without them Massivecraft would just be another small stupid server= @MonMarty , @Thortuna , @Cayorion , @Jamescl, @Th3_Drunk_Monk, and all the other awesome admin team.

Rainsman is still kinda active and he was leader of RisingSun (The faction that built Aegyptus).

What about ThreeDimensia and his plans for World domination?
He had the Empire called fellowship. I even remember him offering me membership, in a secret society, that should get World domination.

Yeah, I remember that guy. I was one of the officers of the Fellowship. He seemed like a good guy at first, but he was greedy at heart. I still remember when he never repaid me the 300 silver I let him borrow to help buy a spawn shop. I also remember when he sold sticks for 30 silver each at one spawn shop advertising them as the best vampire killers. That was back in the good ol' days where newbies had 30 silver to start out with and you could make good money at spawn shops.
